Up until now Praetonia has not had an effective airforce. We have a small number of antiquated planes and fleet of helicopters, but no modern aircraft. Up until now, however, we have not had much need for one. Being an island with a small population - not a visible target and with the Underlord system to protect us from attack.
Now, however, with our emergence onto the world stage we have an urgent need for an airforce that can at least match most other countries of our size and standing. For this airforce we require:
A Joint Strike Fighter type plane with the following features:
• Supersonic speed, the faster the better.
• A large weapon payload - notably the ability to carry anti-ship missiles. Nuclear capability NOT required.
• Fighter/ bomber abilities.
• Fairly long range.
• Cheap to mantain.
• Stealth Capabitity.
• Available carrier version (this is not required, merely a preference)
We will need around 125 of these aircraft (OOC: Tell me if this is too much / too few)
An AWAC type system with a decent RADAR, preferable the ability to defend itself although we dont want these to see much combat. This does need to have a carrier capable version. We require 10 of these.
A strategic bomber with a very large payload, and the ability to travel very high and fast. Stealth capability would be preferable, nuclear capability not nesseccary. We would also like this plane to be able to drop supplies and possible paratroopers with the correct modifications. Including bomber, supply and paradrop versions, around 50 are required.
We have been 'saving up' for this for quite some time now, so money is not really a problem. We want a really good quality airforce which can perform admirably even when split into small groups. It will be used for supporting invasions mainly, although we do want it to be more than able to help the Underlord systme defend Praetonian shores.
