Dyelli Beybian Chancellor names 'Axis of Evil'

Dyelli Beybi
28-05-2004, 12:32
In Parliament house in Cyro, the Chancellor of the Djel Valley, Mr Otto Himmler, ascended to a podium at the front of a press briefing room. To his right stood the Chairman of New Dyelli, Mr Eugene Lee, while to his left stood the newly apointed Grand Vizier of Eastern Fasta Benj, Eamon Collins. Together the three men represented all of the Province of Klatch known as Dyelli Beybi. Usually the Chancellor would speak on behalf of the two lesser Counties, but on this occasion it seemed he wanted them there to add weight to his words.

"Having watched with interest the goings on in the world over the last few months, it has become clear to myself, and the Nation of Dyelli Beybi as a whole, that certain Nations are holding the rest of the world to ransom. These Nations have a clear set view of the world and how it should be run, Nations that deviate from this are destroyed.

"Dyelli Beybi remains among the few that has not come under high levels of negative scrutiny. We stand well protected behind our Naval Minefield, shore fortresses, and supported on all other borders by the other Provinces of the Klatchian Confederation.

"However we have been trifled with."

This statement caused an angry muttering from the assembled press officials, the Chancellor paused to allow the muttering to die down.

"By the United Emirates." he finished, "However, we are cowed by their outrageous demands no longer. Today we will throw back the shackles of opression. We spit on the Nekoa Bay Principles, they are not worth the paper they are written on."

This caused a cheer from the press, several men and women stood up to applaud the chancellor, who nodded graciously to them. The two other Provincial leaders also applauded. Himmler waited for the applause to die down before continuing again,

"We are no longer afraid, indeed we go into the future with a sense of optimism and with hearts full of pride. The Socialist Republic Dyelli Beybi is strong. We therefore feel no problems with openly naming those countries we believe make up the meddlesome Axis of Evil that terrorises the free world."

He paused for dramatic effect,

"The Austar Union."

There was limited applause.

"Credonia."

This time the applause was a little heavier, although not substantially so.

"Tersanctacus."

This caused much wider applause.

"The Drakonian Imperium."

This met with another standing ovation, it took him quite some time to calm everyone down enough to continue and even when he did continue he still had to shout to be heard,

"And of course who can forget the vile mistress of the former two states, we do not even have to pronouce it's name..."

This time the applause did not die down for quite some time.

hmmm ok, issue this statement Comrade Illianov handed the peice of paper to his aide.

AU no longer has anything to to with creddy, you should really keep up with things, calling him part of the Axis of evil would classify the large communist organization the RBA & CA as part of the list aswell, and that's alot of nations with a lot of shiny new firepower...

Althena chuckled. "I like this..."

The replies in the room were, without exception, approving. Not a single one of them cared about the wannabe- superpower Credonia (Except for personal amusement), Austar Union was Irrelevant, tersanctus disaster with the ICEP was still not forgotten, and hadn´t earned them any kind of respect...

But Drakonian Imperium... This was different.

"Pressure upon the Drakonian Imperium would definitely help matters in Glorious Humanity..." Clark said.

"Yes. The disaster we had to face with Drakonian fighters intercepting our first teams... It shows pretty clear that we are unable to enable the rebels to win this conflict. not with Drakonian AND Lavenrunzian influence."

Again, general approval.

"So?" Sakurai, basically the person with the highest rank in the room, yet, being the youngest, usually not adding to the conversation, asked.

"It would be useful to... threaten Drakonia by way of Dyelli Beybi, and, as extension, the entire Klatchian Coast. We have pretty acceptable relations with Vrak and their walruses..."

"Could work. Though I would pretty much like an actual invasion... The UE seem to be pretty much-"

"Dead, I know." Althena smiled. "Another chance for us."

"Well... lets get it on, then." Clark said, the final words in this little conference. He, being the hardcore nationalist and racist (towards 'normals') he was, had, of course, the largest interest in the Glorious Humanity conflict, unlike Althena, who was kinda annoyed that they were basically fighting Lavenrunzians (An ally) in foreign territory...

He needed success, and he needed it badly. This was his chance to get it.

A few hours later, a message was sent to Dyelli Beybi.

From: The Transcendental Teaparty of Der Angst
To: Dyelli Beybi
Subject: 'Axis of Evil'

"Despite previous disagreements between our two nations (Knootian Conflict) that almost created an interregional conflict, we cannot help but to agree with you, regarding the matter you touched, the 'axis of evil', and wish to congratulate you for clearly identifying the hideouts of evil in this, our world.

Furthermore, we wonder if cooperation regarding this mutual threats could be arranged, especially regarding the Drakonian Imperium, where we have to admit that we (sadly) lack sufficient intelligence.

Finally, we would like to guarantee you our support for any and all actions you deem to be necessary to minimise the threat posed to you, and us, to the entire world, by this four rogue nations and terrorist supporters.

In a back room of Parliament the responses to the declaration were being considered, by the three leaders and head of the secret Police

"This one here wants us to remove the Austar Union from the list, aparently they're allied with some Communists." it was Felix Dzerzhinsky, head of the Cheka and an avid supporter of the Opposition Communist Party.

Himmler snorted, "Never, they tried to extort money out of us. We're not backing down over that one, even if we are fundamentally in support of Communism."

Eugene Lee, a slightly greying asian Communist nodded his assent, "As much as I agree with Communism, we cannot allow that kind of insult to pass."

"This one is threatening us and trying to force us to remove the Drakonian Imperium." Dzerzhinsky said, reading the second note, he gave a short laugh, "Shall I just throw it away?"

The other three nodded, Collins snickered a little, "I've never heard of the 'Nuevo Kowloon incident', but I have heard of Aust, big posturers in our opinion."

Dzerzhinsky screwed the telegram up and threw it into the corner.

"Anything else?" Himmler asked.

"Der Angst is supporting us." Felix said, passing the last telegram to Collins.

"Surprising." he muttered, "Guess we'd better respond."

It took them about half an hour to write a response,

From: The United Socialist Republics of Dyelli Beybi
To: The Transcendental Teaparty of Der Angst
Subject: 'Axis of Evil'

The United Socialist Republics of the Djel Valley, New Dyelli and Eastern Benjia wish to thank the Nation of Der Angst for it's support in these matters.

While we do not have any immediate plans to move against the Drakonian Imperium, we do feel they are likely to move against us. Blatant flouting of the Nekoa Bay principles on disarmament are likely to ellicit a somewhat angry response from the Imperium and it's allies.

We are however confident of Victory, the coasts of Eastern Benjia and the Djel Valley are well defended, meaning that any attempt to invade us will be extremely costly indeed.

If they fail to move against us, we will feel in a position to act agressively against these Nations in the near future, but as of now the defence of the Nation is paramount.

Sincerely,

(AU) National Broadcasting Corporation: NEWS: Austar Union declared a part of the "Axis of Evil" by Dyelli Beybi.
--------------------

Just hours ago, the parliamentry leadership of Dyelli Beybi has declared several nations, including the Austar Union as a part of the "Axis of Evil". President Madison when told the news, was seen laughing uncontrollably for several minutes. After he regained his composure, he gave the following statement:

"I find it highly amusing that those idiots in Dyelli Beybi dont seem to realise the latest history. We are no longer considered to be friends with the infidels in Credonia, and we have no relation to the rest of the nations on the list.

Actually, we have seen a major shift in foriegn policy, whereapon we gave some Two Hundred Billion Dollars to victims in war-zones as a part of the AUAID program. We also would like to point out that we are a part of several alliances including the Red Bloc Army, and as a key leader of that alliance it is unwise to name us as "evil", and putting an name of "evil" over those entire alliances.

We would like to also like to suggest strongly against any further action your government may be planning against the Austar Union, for it will only result in retaliation, depending on the severity of your actions."

The intel posts dutifully recorded the broadcast and after an analyst made a report, it was sent up the chain in the Intelligence division, landing on the desk of a certain Sub director.

He chuckled greatly. While Tersanctus was remembered for the ICEP folly, they did at least seem somewhat amiable in trying to conclude the never ending Nekoa Bay accords. As for Austar Union and Credonia, well, not much was known about them. He leaned back in his chair, staring up at the ceiling. Wasn't Austar Union forever boasting about how many alliances it was a part of? Whooopeee! He chuckled. When will these nations ever learn? It's not the number of alliances you are a part of, but who you can count on when the chips fall

His eyes narrowed at the mention of the Drakonian Imperium and the "other" nation. Now here, he could find very little fault with the Dyellians. Although that unstable nation to the south did tend to attract undue attention, nevertheless, they were a friend. And what are border disputes among friends when faced with greater threats?

Christopher Dantes looked over the report.

Axis of Evil? he thought to himself.

"Well now, gentleman. What do you make of this?" he asked his Cabinet.

"I think we should take it seriously, The Dyellians have been against the accords since the beggining, and now, there showing there cards. Not too mention the money stolen in Foreign Aide to Drak." replied his Minister of Defense.

"'Showing there cards?' Do we show ours? Or bluff?" he asked.

"Like any 'Good' Nation, we should put the appearence of desiring peace forward, while at the same time preparing for war."

"Do they think were going to invade them? Do they think we actually want war?"

"Our intel indicates that they are essentially calling us out. When your father attended the Peace Conferences, they felt that we were weakening them. that might even have been the reason that they left the FKC."

Chris fumbled his brow. He thought about his nations respect for the FKC, and Vrak especially. They were a intelligent bunch of Walri...

"Well, I dont want too be in a position in which were pitted against the FKC, Dyelli Beybi likely has allies in it still, though admittedly I wouldnt mind slapping them around a bit."

He than noticed a response from Minister Hartman. He laughed a bit.

"Well now. Its good too know that we have friends out there, even after our Isolation."

He thought a bit more.

"Very well, Have all Templar ready themselves for Deployment. Have the First through Fifteenth Imperial Guard Fleets on standby. Dont make a big deal out of it....well just see how this goes."

"and what of Drakonia?"

"She is still our sister nation, even if we have left the United Emirates, we are still loyal too them, we are still allies."

"And the Message?"

"Something Peaceful, yet Strong."

Esteemed Heads of Dyelli Beybi,

We are obvioulsy concerned with your accusations in your latest press release. From what grounds do you accuse us of being an "Evil" Nation?

Is it because we sat at the table of peace, when your nation, under the former Tzar, killed 20 million Innocent Drakonian Citizens, in a Nuclear Holocaust, of over 200 Nuclear Weapons?

Is it because you accused us of being Imperialistic in the Al Anbar war? Well we explained that it was outlined in the Charter of the United Emirates, that violating Human Rights, would lead too Invasion, and setup of a new Governement. No Different than the FKC Charter.

Continue with your words, your flapping mouths will continue too show the world your true natures.

"Axis of evil from a nation that sponsors terrorism... does anyone else find that a bit rich?" this comment came from the Defence Minister.

"Who cares? We're not on the list, we don't have any real ties with either side... it doesn't concern us." The First Minister said as he set the coffee back down.

The Premier sighed and shook her head.
"Neutrality has its benefits. Taking sides would be... obstructive."

Responses were still flooding in, Dzerzhinsky shook his head, "the Austar Union has threatened us... again."

There were a few snorts, "Next." It was Collins. He was a tall muscular looking man, a one time street thug who had managed to scrub up just enough to become a politician.

"OK", Dzerzhinsky screwed the message up and tossed it into the corner with the others.

"If they hadn't tried that stunt the first time they wouldn't be on the list now." Collins concluded, "It was a well calculated insult if I don't say so myself."

"It was a good idea Eamon." Himmler gave a brief and unusual smile.

"Tersanctacus is insulted as well." Dzerzhinsky interupted, "Some more crap about the Tzar killing Drakonians...as if he didn't kill enough Dyellians."

Collins shot the Cheka official a dark glance, "And Benjians of course." Dzerzhinsky added rapidly.

"They're still allied with those elf-loving dogs in Drakonia are they?" Collins demanded.

"Indeed they are." it was Lee, who had fallen silent for some time, the others looked up politely, they had assumed he was asleep.

"Well, we'll tell them as much, we're not going to get dicked around forever." Collins continued, "You would have thought that these damned Negotiations would be over by now, but no, they want an elf clause, well we'll tell them they can stick their elf clause where the son don't shine."

"Do you want me to put that in slightly more diplomatic language?" Dzerzhinsky suggested.

"Actually no." It was Himmler, "We've come this far, we might as well not pull our punches."

Dzerzhinsky sighed, he was a subtle man, skilled at intrigue and careful planning, this all seeemed so...craftless, "Very good mein Führer."

Maybe a few minor alterations to Mr Collins's speech won't hurt Dzerzhinsky thought to himself.

To:Tersanctan Diplomatic Corps
From: TheChancellory of the United Socialist Republics of Dyelli Beybi
Subject: Axis of Evil

While on face value Tersanctacus may appear to be a peace loving Nation, not involved in meddling with the internal affairs of other Nations, we know in Cyro this is not the case.

Long did we toil for a peaceful resolution to Nekoa Bay, however it seems that the Nations of the United Emirates were willing to concede on nothing.

Dyelli Beybi agreed to 60% nuclear disarmament, 100% was hoisted upon us. It is now our intention to rearm under Klatchian supervision.

Dyelli Beybi passed laws allowing for greater civil rights for all citizens of the Republics, however the Emirates demanded we give greater rights to elves illegally moving across our Eastern borders that we do to our own citizens. We intend to return to the practice of the slaughter of all individuals emerging from that particular festering jungle. If people wish to move into Dyelli Beybi they can do so by the legal routes where they can receive proper medical examinations.

Dyelli Beybi withdrew from the negotiations inn protest at these demands and at the refusal of Menelmacar to attend the negotiations. If Menlmacar cares about the elf population of the Jiggardian jungles they are welcome to ask Jiggardy to remove the feral creatures. It would benefit us all. Dyelli Beybi will not, however, change our laws and way of life to accomodate the demands of the Emirates.

Dyelli Beybi will not be beaten into submission by any Nation. If Tersanctacus agrees that our grievances are fair we will gladly strike Tersanctacus from the list. Otherwise you may put your protest 'where the sun don't shine.'

Sarzo looked at the press conference by the leader of Dyelli Beybi with a bemused smirk.

"It seems we're not on their radar screen. Yet," Senior Vice President for External Affairs Mark Lorber said.

"Doesn't that country support terrorism?" Senior Vice President for Internal Affairs Nicole Lewis asked.

"To the best of my recollection, yes," Sarzo replied.

"They're well known to support terrorists," Lorber said. "It's all I can do to keep from laughing hysterically right now."

"If it weren't so ridiculous, I think I'd be laughing right now," Sarzo said. "Do we even respond to this?"

"Let's wait it out," Lewis said. "We've still got that other operation we're going to be a part of. We don't need to stretch our forces too thinly."

"We've got a navy that's large enough to fight on two fronts," Lorber said. "At the very least, we can let them know we're not pleased with some of their choices."

"And what good would that do?" Lewis asked. The two senior vice presidents looked at each other tensely.

"I hate to say it Mark, but I have to side with Nicole on this one," Sarzo said. "We may be able to fight a two-front war, but I'd rather not push it. We don't have diplomatic relations with Dyelli Beybi, so there'd be no point in our taking military action or economic action since we don't trade with them to begin with.

"Mark, I know you and Terry have worked hard to build our military, but we need to do things for the right reasons."

Lorber shook his head. He hated Dyelli Beybi and wanted to do something about it, but he thought for a second. He realized that Sarzo had a hand in building the military and that he was largely responsible for the strong relationship Sarzonia has with Isselmere-Nieland. He also realized that Sarzo kept regular tabs on the military's strength and he realized that the three people in that room were among the elite few who knew exactly what Sarzonia's miliary could do.

"Let Dyelli Beybi pursue their misguided foreign policy if they wish. If they attack us or one of our allies, then we respond," Sarzo said.

Lorber thought for a moment. He wanted Sarzonia to make a statement heard around the world, but he knew that it would take time. Besides, he came to respect Sarzo over the time that they'd been working together since Sarzo could probably do his job better than he could.

"Do we at least make a statement condemning their list?" Lorber asked.

"You can send a letter to them letting them know we're displeased with their list and to warn them not to use it to attack our allies," Sarzo said.

"Why should we even BOTHER with them?" Lewis interrupted. "Several countries are already getting involved. We'd be doing the diplomatic equivalent of beating a dead horse."

"Good point," Sarzo said. "But I think a letter would at least reinforce the point that they're in trouble if they want to pursue things too far."

The two senior vice presidents left the room with neither one winning a clear mandate, but both respected each other and Sarzo too much for things to be heated for too long.

Sarzo finally let out a belly laugh. "Axis of Evil? That's a hoot."

5 ) The end of Nuclear Weapon Programs never again to be restarted, in the nations of Dyelli Beybi, Fasta Benj, and Axe Wielding Maniacs.

1 ) A full Non-Aggression Pact between the the sovereign Federated Klatchian Coast and the United Emirates, which will protect each entity from interference and invasion from the other. Either side (The UE and the FKC) will inform the other if and when they believe a violation of the treaty has occurred and agree to resolve the dispute quickly and to the satisfaction of both sides. *

2 ) Ensure peace between the United Emirates and the Federated Klatchian Coast.

"All right you stubborn fucks, listen here. I dont give a flying shit what you do with your goddamn elves, burn them, eat them, I dotn give a shit, the only people who did was Siri in Menelemacar. And Y'know what? She never even gave a fuck enough too show at those negotiations. Because of her, my Father is Dead.

So you can understand where Im coming from. But besides that, You did at least at one time, agree too these accords, Sometimes I think Tersanctus should have responded on a full Nuclear Scale, so as not too hear your Nations constant bitching and moaning.

Noone wants war, and we wont concede that we did the right thing with Nuclear Weapons in your country, re-arm, and you face the Consequences.*

They didn´t even knew about the twisted (and usually failing) plots their 'leaders' pondered... Living their miserable lives, lives of a useless mass, irrelevant for the way the nation functioned...

But still working as a propaganda tool, reading the newspapers, watching the news, both informing them about the oppression psychics like them had to endure in Glorious Humanity, information about the Imperialism of the emirates, and the few nations standing against them, Like Dyelli Beybi, once an enemy, now... A possible chance?

"We are sure that your capabilities to stop Drakonian imperialism and aggress are more than satisfying, and we are certain that any attempt to destroy the wall against their fascist rule that is the Klatchian Coast will fail.

However, we wonder if the time is right... The UE are basically defunct, the Drakonian Imperium is acting in Glorious Humanity, and thusly in danger, should it be engaged elsewhere, too, not to mention that with Glorious Humanity spiraling into chaos, is unable to support them.

Tersanctus is like an old dog, it barks, but it lacks the teeth to bite.

This raises the question: Is it right to wait, now, that they are weakened, or should one use the chance to end the threat when it is weakened?

As far as we are concerned... We would be more than willing to support the Klatchian coast in the case of the ruthless imperialism of the UE striking against it... For now, we are aure that some... economic preferences, especially for products of the arms industry are possible.

That is, if you´re interested."

Eamon Collins was the last man to leave the meeting room for bed...apart from Felix, but in Eamon's mind he didn't count. The man was a machine, bred for his role in the secret police.

"Sarzonia disaproves." Felix announced.

"Who cares."

The Commisaar screwed the paper up and threw it into a corner.

"The Austar Union finds it a bit rich considering we're supporting terrorism." Felix concluded of the next letter.

"Only when it's attacking them.... more whiskey?"

"Thanks." the Commisaar offered the big politician his empty glass.

Collins had discarded his jacket and tie and with his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows he looked every inch the 'less than sober' businessman. He filled the Commisaar's glass up, before filling his own, "Anything I should actually care about."

Felix gave a short laugh, "Read this one." It was the letter from Tersanctus.

Eamon read it, slowly, the page did seem to rotate a little, "Hah!" he declared as he finished, "And I let you edit my one."

"I thought you hadn't noticed."

Collins chortled, "Come now Felix, we were brothers of the Revolution, oposite sides of the border I grant, but brothers of the revolution none the less, you don't think I've gone soft enough to not read what people write under my name do you?"

Felix chuckled, "Admittedly I had for a moment...so how do we reply to this?"

"Well." Collins cleared his throat, "I think the letter will go something like this, and don't even think of editing it this time..."

Subject: In response to Mr Dantes' kind words

Now listen here you little sh*t, I've been killing Dyellians for the last ten years, and doing it in a variety of interesting manners involving a vast array of otherwise innocuous household appliances. Do you think for one moment I, the great Eamon Collins would ally myself with our hated Eastern enemy.

No, Dyelli Beybi died along with the Tzar. Dyelli Beybi is dead, Fasta Benj is dead, AxeWieldingManiacs is dead as is EvilPsychoticGuy, although you never had any dealings with that particular country. We still feel the effects of their biological testing when we try to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and find a monkey with large fangs has climbed up the toilet, but we live with it.

The Nation now calling itself Dyelli Beybi is about as similar to the Dyelli Beybi that bombed Drakonia as is a plant and the soil it grows from. It's borders are different, it's foreign policy is different and it's leaders are more responsible.

One thing that hasn't changed is the pride the people of the THREE countries now incoorporated under the name of Dyelli Beybi have in their combined heritage. Maybe if your grand Nation and that pack of wallies in the Drakonian Imperium hadn't done a jig all over our combined National pride, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

But I'm not here to lay blame, I'm here to point out what we're doing next. We're going to forget all about the past. That was a different Nation, and if you intend to hold up our development into Nationhood, you are more than welcome to try, we've got enough guns bombs rockets and missiles to blow all of Klatch to kingdom come, and we've got them just because we like the feeling of having lots of weapons. None of this crap about we need it for world peace. We need it so that we can shoot foreigners.

Now you may be wondering why we're called Dyelli Beybi, well sadly Dyelli Beybi was the only state to stabilise after the Revolution in Southern Klatch, those of us who fought for Socialism across the rest of Klatch have been forced to stick with whatever portion of our countries Himmler managed to convince the Federal Government to allow to join into the Union. I'd much rather this Nation be the United Socialist Republics of Fasta Benj, but we can't have everything can we?

Yours with the greatest respect,
Eamon Collins,
Grand Vizier of Eastern Benjia

Collins yawned, "How much of that was drunken rambling?"

Felix scanned the proposed letter, "About half," he gave a slight smile, "But it's no less diplomatic than their effort, and I'm tired, to be honest I can't be bothered editing it."

He stood up, rolling the hastily scribbled message into a vacuum tube and placing it in the vacuum tube system that kept documents filtering about the Cyro houses of parliament.

Collins yawned, "Oh geez, he said, reading the last letter which he had taken from Felix's side of the table, Der Angst wants us to attack the Drakonian Imperium."

Felix smiled slightly, "Well the people in the street would be thrilled if we did."

Eamon nodded in agreement, "But I'm not agreeing to anything in writing, I'm sure you, a Cheka opperative, will agree that writing that kind of thing down isn't a good idea."

Felix gave a nod, "Indeed."

Collins sighed, "One last letter, then I'm off to bed, we can deal with anything else in the morning when Otto and the venerable Mr Wu are about."

"Lee." Felix corrected.

Collins shrugged, "Let's get writing anyway..."

"You know what they called him during the revolution?" Felix asked.

Collins raised an eyebrow, "No, but I'm guessing you're about to tell me."

[ooc: Arrivals are so boring... Hope you hadn´t anything planned for the flight. A few assumptions made, a few things rushed, expanded timeframe dialogue or something like that]

Landing in DA can be annoying. Not only is the tower always some rude piece of a bastard tending to insult the pilot's ability to fly, but the constant clouds (only occasionally rain), electromagnetic interferences from god knows what they were doing down there, and other such things were more than just 'a bit' annoying.

Add the insanely high buildings, the tallest reaching up to 3000m into the sky, and one has what a pilot would call 'hell'.

Though occasionally, it was fun to watch, this time, the pilot did likely spot a giant construction site, apparently, one of the aforementioned buildings hadn´t been constructed the way it was supposed to be constructed.

Well, collateral damage.

But considering the whole scene (The storm was, luckily, over, just a bit of rain was falling, with a very agreeable PH of 4.2), the whole process of landing/ checking in was fairly smooth.

The young woman waiting for the Dyelli Beybians (Blonde hair, knee- long skirt, shirt, blazer, all in black) bowed slightly at the arrivals.

"Mr. Ledoux, i´m honoured to welcome you in DA. I`m Marie Valentine, if you would please follow me...?"

She smiled, possibly by order from her superiors or due to drug influence... In a nation with citizens as rude as DA, drug influence was often the only thing that kept the people from randomly shooting each other.

A black limousine was already waiting for them (The staff of the airport took care of the plane, the rain was sort of concerning), and, ignoring the odd views she got for her left arm (A new, and rather odd- looking, model, after the terrible accident she had suffered a month ago, and it was still tickling her nervous system), she invited them in, a significant amount of liquors waiting for them. "I hope this is satisfying for yo... of course, we have non- alcoholic drinks, too, shjould you prefer them."

After a while and with a bit of small talk, they finally arrived at the Triluminarium, some sort of... well, pyramid (incredible waste of space, but the architects had been a bit annoying...) near the harbour.

Clark was already waiting for them, outside, once the rain had stopped for a few minutes.

"Welcome... welcome, dear guests..."

Along the massive coasts of the Imperial Republic, Reserves were called up. Fleets were activated, and the Templar themselves went into rigourous training.

Noone really knew what was going on.
Dyelli Beybi
02-06-2004, 03:16
All over Dyelli Beybi, preparations for an invasion were underway. Minelayers were busy along the coast, always under the watchful eye of a Cruiser or two, adding more mines to the already practically inpenetrable coastal minefield. It left two main entrances, one in the East through Jiggardian waters, and one through the West through JDF controled waters. Each was watched closely by sections of the fleet stationed at Christchurch in the West and Saint Guineford's inb the East.

Meanwhile on land, flak vehicles patrolled up and down the country. Some were the open topped quad gun variety, but the vast majority, however were the missile varieties. The coast was crowded with flak guns, although the rest of the country had not been spared.

Tanks were also on them move, and of course tank destroyers and assault guns. Small boys kept scrap books of what they'd spotted moving through their town, Dyelli Beybi had 45 varieties of armoured vehicle, plus of course the trucks and artillery. One or two even spotted the Päderast-C of which only 20 were in active service (although plenty more waited to replace any that were lost).

In the streets and schools soldiers educated people on the dangers of poison gas attack and gas masks were issued. Police armouries were turned out and the men on duty in the street began to give off the look of soldiers themselves. The Citizen's Militia was raised and armed in all major towns and cities across the country. Many of these took it as their sworn duty to arrest foreigners, many of whom were rounded up and placed in makeshift camps.

In the South, the SS were digging in along with most of the main army. They were Dyelli Beybi's elite, armed with the best weapons in the army, brave beyond belief and responsible for every attrocity committed by the army since hte death of the Tzar. But even they paled in comparison to the troops being levied in East Benjia, where a small unit of volunteer pilots was being assembled.

----------------------------------

In Der Angst
Ledoux had been convinced by his bodyguards to leave his weapons in the plane, it had put him in a morose mood (He might miss the oportunity to kill a Drakonian), but he soon cheered up when he was introduced to the alcohol and layed in wholeheartedly. By the time they arrived at their destination he was a little wobbly on his feet and was kept under the watchful eye of his bodyguards,
Please don't fall over, please don't fall over...or throw up.

Ledoux was also pleased by the pyramid. It reminded him of home and how as a small child he'd loved to break into the pyramids and attempt to steal the gold of the long dead pharohs. He'd never found anything. In Dyelli Beybi anything that wasn't nailed down ended up looted, and after 3000 years, successive generations of grave robbers had gone over the place with a fine toothed comb.

Suddenly he became aware he'd been greeted, and put on his best sober face. His bodyguards breathed a sigh of relief, it was a very convincing sober face, if they hadn't seen him in the car they would never have guessed he'd been drinking.

"Well met and many thanks to your gracious Nation for allowing this meeting to take place at such short notce." Ledoux announced formally, "Shall we get inside before the rain starts again?" he suggested.

Ledoux was from York, where it never rained, it drizzled a little in Shefield from time to time, but there seemed to be a lot more water than there ought to be in the sky today...it was a little unsettling.

Impressive... Marie thought, smiling, when she saw Ledoux 'sober' face. Must have taken some training.

"Well met and many thanks to your gracious Nation for allowing this meeting to take place at such short notce." Ledoux announced formally, "Shall we get inside before the rain starts again?" he suggested.

Clark nodded. "Sure. Please, if you would follow Marie?"

Marie walked in front of them... Right before they entered the building, somewhere in the sky, fire could be seen... Apparently, the fire- breathing Quetzacoatls were having their usual mating rituals.

The inside of the Triluminarium was a bit dimly lit, though Clark reassured Ledoux that their personal meeting room would be 'brighter'.

Well... That it was, though the overall design (Black, abst´ract, yet simple) was still... Well, strange would be a nice term, ugly was possibly closer to the truth.

Aside from them, marie, and Ledoux bodyguards, no one was in the room, they were, well... alone.

"So... Since you asked for this rather... private meeting, I think we pretty much know what the topic is... An attack on the Drakonian Imperium to prevent its aggressive nature from taking over. Basically, an operation to destroy their aggressive potential before they can strike.

Now, we know that Dyelli Beybi is sort of... hesistant regarding such an option, since the involved risks are... considerable, to say the least.

Now..." He hesitated, looking at Marie. "We would want to know under which... conditions Dyelli beybi is willing to... take action. This conditions obviously including the... support we would give you. Or rather, we`re supposed to give you."

Clark leaned back, waiting for the answer.

Ledoux scratched his head, he was having difficulty following what was going on and the meeting had mardly started. He was begining to get the urge to run someone over with a tractor...

"Basically the situation as it stands is Dyelli Beybi feels threatened by the potential for an invasion. We don't want to send large numbers of troops overseas when there is still the potential for war to reach our shores."

He paused, wondering exactly how far he should go, "Also the Government is curious as to exactly what you propose. We can't invade the Imperium, we simply don't have enough transports to get a large enough force into their country. We can of course engage them in foreign conflicts."

He gave a wry grin, "To be honest we were hoping we might lure them into attacking us. Dyelli Beybi is a fortress, our own analysts agree that to take all the major cities and fortresses you'd need to be willing to lose over 5 million soldiers...which is why we are so confident. We are certain that any attack launched on the Nation will be a total and costly failure."

You're still over a weeks sailing away from the coast of Dyelli Beybi while traveling at 35 knotts (top speed of most modern vessels).
1000 nautical miles on an ECM system means if you flew one of those off the Dyelli Beybian coast you'd be effecting about half of Vrak as well as most of Monte Ozaka and Jiggardy. It's also sort of pointless being as top of the line radars can't read beyond 200 nautical miles. Oh yeah...and you'd probably need multiple nuclear power plants to run it. The UAA1, which the brits fit to cruisers has a range of about 2 or 3 nautical miles.

If you want to edit those two numbers that's cool, if you don't thats also cool and I'll run with it. Just thought I'd poinit that stuff out in case you hadn't realised it.

In addition to the 800 Leopard 2A6 Main Battle Tanks already in the lands of Fasta Benj, 150 200mm artillery guns, 2,000 Schultzpolizei troops, and 500 Stinger trucks were being moved in.

The Lüftwaffe had prepared a large number of MiG-33's and F-22's to counter any air strike against the Klatch.

All non-nuclear I.C.B.M. silos had been activated.

The 3rd, 10th, 12th, and 13th Armed Korps divisions and 2nd, 7th, and 9th Panzer Korps divisions had been prepared in North Germania in case a counter-strike needed to be launched if any land penetration was successful by the enemy.

ic:

Clark looked at both, Marie and Ledoux... Apparently, Marie had enjoyed the liqueurs a bit too much... Her face being slightly red. He would have to talk to her about it.

"You are, of course, right, and we wouldn´t propose a full- scale invasion of the Drakonian Imperium. Merely.. Teasing them." He hesitated, smiling. "Which could, of course, result in the 'luring' you`re hoping for. Lets say... an attack on one of their harbours. Open naval warfare against their shipments, cutting off their interregional trade routes.

However, we aren´t able to provide full support. Though technically, we aren´t at war right now, we`re working with a regional crisis and supporting rebels elsewhere... So it would be a bit risky.

Still... Delivery of raw materials, products of the arms manufacturing sector, logistical help, informational support... Are all possible, and well within our limits. All for significantly reduced costs.

Eventually... Eventually, you might even be able to hire one of our smaller mercenary corporations... We would of course subsidize the actions, so the prize would, again, be very favourable."

He stopped. "Of course, war is always a risk, and the support we could give, while being significant, wouldn´t exactly be... massive, so we would certainly understand... hesitation, or caution... Still, I think this is a fair... opportunity."

Clark nodded. "Well, basically, yes. Though there is a bit more... With the Drakonians currently being engaged in the Glorius Humanity situation. Right now, according to the information I have, our own... rather inofficial forces we have there engaged the Drakonians on the ground as well as in the sea, doing... considerable damage. Well, relatively considerable, considering our rather small, not to say, minimal, numbers. Nonetheless... it is including significant damage to a destroyer. And I believe that it will continue this way."

He hesitates, sipping from his glass of wine (Everyone in the room has one). "So one could say it is more like using the chance to hit a common enemy, currently spread thin, on two fronts, making him lose on both. Since we certainly wont stop fighting there... And as I said, limited, active support is certainly possible."

Again, hesitation. Marie continued, smiling.

"In the end... They would be significantly weakened, and fail to be a threat for either one of us. And there is always the possibility of us being involved in more... massive ways."

"And in any case..." Now, it was Clark who spoke. "Is it better to face the constant threat alone, or with outside help, though said help might be limited? Is it better to wait until the wave comes, or to prevent said wave before it moves? It is true, we are selfish, but sometimes, others might profit from said selfishness... Right now, it would be... you."

However we wish to know where a suitable attack can be made, preferably at some point where there is only limited air and ground support. Somewhere we can blow their ships out of the water and loot the town long before they're able to respond."

He smiled apologetically, "Our information of the Imperium is fairly sketchy."

We could start a intelligence thread or we could tack it onto any running threads (for example Only the Bad News (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=120729&highlight=), Mind Games (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=131088&highlight=), or some other one; I can even accompidate you if you want to go your intelligence gathering in the recent past, with , set ten or so years back). If your just want to read up me there are plenty of resource...or well a few at least (for example [url=http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74877]My National Factfile (]Remember[/url) or for more cultural information Diplomacy in New Iona (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=125037&highlight=)). I could even rant and rave on, if you guys want...but I think you are all thinking intelligence operation in Drakonia.

This can be carried out several ways: Spies trying to infiltrate places is the obvious choice, but there are other alternatives and variations possible. For instance...going to a Tourist Information Center like the massive International Relations Complex in my capital (Drako Throne). But since I've raved on for a while...I'll just shut up and wait for your reply...or write a post.

OOC: Guess you'll just have to deal with retaliation if you launch nukes. Besides, I said they were activated, not sent anywhere.

Ledoux nodded, he was begining to believe he was Hercules again, he was begining to look for his lion skin and club, although somewhere in his twisted brain he was able to formulate a coherent answer, "Good." he smiled, "I think that about wraps these discussions up then....this was pleasantly short, unlike some other negotiations we have been involved in. We'll act against the Imperium as soon as we get some good information as to an appropriate point to strike."

Clark nodded. "The informations should come in no time. I wonder... Perhaps one or two of our reconnaissance specialists could accompany you? As liaisons, it would make it a lot easier. In any case..."

Marie continued, apparently enjoying her wine. "And yes, negotiations with us tend to be rather... swift. Efficiency is our trademark." She smiled, her impressive chest wobbling, prolly reminding Ledoux of a Vrakian walrus... Though it was only her chest, not the rest of her body.

"If you would follow me, then?" She smiled, seductively, while standing up... If Ledoux would agree to the two 'liaisons' coming with him, they would wait at the airport... In the limousine, he would prolly be alone with Marie. Well, and the liqueurs.

"What?" Ledoux asked, lucid thought slipping away for a moment, "Ahhh...yes, yes, that sounds like a good idea, it will help to facilitate comunication."
Now where was his lion skin?

The aides/bodyguards watched Ledoux cautiously, in most countries he would have been locked in a room with padded walls and with nothing sharper than a spoon at his disposal...in Dyelli Beybi he was made a politician.

"Sir, you should watch this," the aide turned on the television to an Emirate News Network special report. The voice of a woman filled the room as picture of the Cyro House of Parliament were visible on the screen. "...preceding economic sanctions by Vrak against United Emirate and allied KIST member states, which are expected to have no effect in the world economic situation what-so-ever. These statements were release to a cheering crowd and were supported by several Klatchian Provinces." The news network then proceeded to show the speech.

When it was all over, Praetor Augustus Drake was not totally sure how to respond. "The pot calling the kettle black," he commented.

"Not exactly, but close enough," Nathan Lamb, chief advisor and first to the Praetor replied. "It's almost ironic, a known genocidal and xenophobic nation calling others evil. It the most oxymoronic act to come out of Klatch since the Axe Wielding Maniacs bombed our fleet with white flags and roasted geese."

"Cliché, as well," the Praetor observed. "You would think they would have come up with a way to present it, not already done a dozen times or more." He paused, thinking. "I suppose we must make a reply."

"The more public the better," his chief advisor responded, carefully analyzing the situation. "We need to refute their claims, once again."

"I wish all this refuting would just be said and done." Augustus Drake had long ago tired of the Klatchian’s repeating themselves incessantly. "It’s so annoy, they play the victim when our civilians were murdered and we never killed any of their civilians or military personnel."

"Some people are just too stubborn to know when to shut up," Nathan answered, implying the Klatchians.

"Or just plain stubborn," the Praetor replied, in reference to himself and Drakonia.

OOC: Statements about the Axe Wielding Maniacs Roast Geese Bombings are accurate portrayal of events. They really did, do it.
Drakonian Imperium

{Official International Broadcast from the Praetorship of the Drakonian Imperium}

The official seal of the Grand Dominion of Drakonian Imperium appeared on a black background. Then it was gone, in the seal's place was the ornate Anglo-Romanic architecture of the Grand Praetorian Palace's Broadcast Studio in the Drakonian capital of Drako Throne. Two flags of the Imperium were clearly visible, one on the right and the other on the left. Two flags of the Imperium hung on the wall; The Black, Red and White of the Drakonian Flag seeming ever it's resolute and powerful self. It was the recognizable symbol that represented the many peoples of the Imperium, with their freedom, democracy, justice, liberty, and economic prosperity.

Augustus Drake, Praetor of the Imperium, walks calmly to the podium set up between the flags. He is well-built and muscular from exercise. His dark brown hair is contrast by natural streaks of lighter brown and a visage of many great men past, all clear in his crisp face. He seems young, yet aged, and old; recent events having taken their toll on his youthful spirit. Yet, when he spoke his authority was clear.

"People of Drakonia, People of the Emirates, People of the World, I come before you today to refute claims of evil made by the Klatchian Province of Dyelli Beybi.

"The nation of the Federated Klatchian Coast and its many provinces has long worked to torment Drakonia, beginning with a ruthless nuclear strike against our citizens, even as we tried to give them every opportunity for peace. Millions suffered and still suffer because of those attacks, but we withheld our vengeance and continued our attempts for peace. We called for a peace summit, yet even then they badgered and worked throughout the world to hurt us and weaken our allies. Victim, we did not reply in kind and made every attempt to befriend them, but our honor and courtesy was thrown back in our faces by their insults.

"We have withheld our hand, turning our attention to greater threats and evils. But, how long can we ignore the voices of the innocents murdered, in our nations, in their provinces. In their nation their own citizens are executed for jaywalking, illegal immigrants are burned alive, and there is constant strife and murder. Genocide and Xenocide are common practices.

"They call us evil, but we do not execute our citizen for jaywalking, or burn alive illegal immigrants. We do not promote murder or genocide. There is freedom, liberty, and justice in the Imperium and in all the United Emirates and its allies.

"To call us the Drakonian Imperium, the honorable Tersanctus, or any Emirate evil is just more of the lies, they are so used to telling. We salute Aust and Automagfreek in their promotion of truth and justice. Not long will the world stand idly by and watch the evils of our neighbors in Klatch. Not long will we tolerate their badgering and insults.

"For all that is honorable, true, and good in this world, must always be active our pursuit of evil. In the hope, that it may one day be gone from this world. Evil is forewarned."

The Praetor, his face firm, his stance unyielding, disappeared from the broadcast. The seal of the Grand Dominion of Drakonian Imperium was again visible and then the broadcast was over.

OOC: All above cases are clearly documented and freely admitted, if you wish to know specifics I can present them.

(OOC) No. Sino you are not on the list. I have not encountered your Nation before.

"I think the Drakonian Imperium is threatening us." it was Eamon Collins, now seated in his office in Christchurch overlooking a rather pleasant park.

He snorted, "Do we execute people for jaywalking?"

The aide he was facing shrugged, "We may have at one time, probably Tzarist thing." she was young and enthusiastic, on assignment from the Kriegsmarine of all places, and a real expert at the quagmire of Dyelli Beybian law. In East Benjia there was still a law against eating beef, pork or mutton, although nobody took any notice of it.

"Oh right." he yawned, "As I recall Herr Himmler abolished the death penalty.... except for 'bio-terrorists'."

The aide snickered, "And of course people the Cheka regard as unruly."

Eamon looked at the clock, it was nearly midday in Christchurch, and things were getting really dull without any skulls to crack, he opened the bottom droor of his desk and extracted a bottle of absinthe, "Drink?"

"Much obliged Sir." she flashed him a dazzling smile as she pulled up a chair oposite him. Things were fairly informal in the offices of the East Benjian leader.

"What's your name anyway?" he asked, pouring out a couple of overly full glasses with the potent liquor.

"Adelle, Adelle Collins, Sir."

"We're not related are we?" Eamon asked, somewhat alarmed by the prospect that he'd been considering trying to seduce a cousin of his.

She gave him a slightly puzzled frown, "Doubt it Sir, opposite sides of the border, and you know what things were like in the days before the Tzar."

Eamon nodded, "Yes." but the name was bringing back other memories, "Hey aren't you that Captain that they dragged in for piracy some time back?"

She grinned again, "Yep." she gave a look of mock horror, "All I did was shoot a few foreigners and they started demanding a trial. The Kriegsmarine ran it..."

"So it was a complete sham and you were found innocent and the prosecution fined an extraordinary amount for wasting court time?" Eamon finished.

She nodded her grin returning, "Spot on."

-------------------------------

Himmler had also heard the news, although the phone call he had recieved from Mr Collins reminded him that the East Benjian leader wasn't asleep, even if he was permanently drunk. He sighed dramatically, "Really when will they ever learn? Bloody pakrahs. Do they think a flashy broadcast of their logo is going to impress Klatch?"

"But what if they try to press for war?" it was one of the 8 other high ranking NSWP party members he was meeting with. They were all seated around a long oblong table with Himmler at the head.

"They will lose." Himmler replied curtly, "Away with this rubbish, if we respected the Drakonian military machine we'd have stayed at Nekoa Bay...so what of the news of Muskovia?"

From there the discussion turned to the slow business of adding a new Republic to the League, with all the associated leagal problems.

snip broadcast

The broadcast was dutifully recorded and stashed away under the ever increasing file entitled Pakrahs, of which the Drakonian file seemed to be growing every day.

====

Needless to say, this latest broadcast certainly did not sit well with the King, (which was fed via a special feed since all Drakonian broadcasts were blocked in Vrak) but one could only listen to pakrahs and their whinging for so long before a headache manifested itself. The King reached for his large bottle of aspirin and soon polished it off. It was not even worth it to send out a reply in kind.

I wonder if they still use ICBMs to launch conventional warheads? Probably they still are. Ah, well. Bunch of bblok pakrahs.

The King flopped over and began to devour some hapless clams.
