Stranded in Paradise (Open RP)

It was 4:02 am, June 21st. Time for the shift change on the Ilomia, a small cruise ship. The sun has not begun to peak out yet.

Walking up to the captian, John Danton, who was getting off shift of as a watchout, came up to Captian Alexander Permette. The Captian, wearing a snow-white colored suite, turned to John.

"So, what's the report?" the Captian asks, unenthusiasticly. "It looks all clear. We've got a small island... I'd call in a small paradise in fact, off the starboard side." replied John, promptly.

John was a little on the chubby side, and somewhat short. He had dark brown hair and eyes. Alexander, the captian, was quite huskey, and tall. He was starting to age. He was in his early sixties.

Alexander was just turning to look at some of his crew, when what seemed like all hell broke loose. An explosion, the rear end of the ship popping up, and out of the water nearly 30 feet before collapsing back into the water.

While the tail was in mid-air, another explosion happened. Just after it smashed into the water again, a propeller (sp?) came slicing into the ship, and nearly all the way through it.

Many were killed due to the explosion and the impact into the water, a few more due to the propeller. But, now fire was raging in various locations on the ship, and in other spots, water gushed in. The ship was going down.

In one of the small cabins
As the ship slammed back into the, Josh, a boy of 9 years, was tossed like a rag doll from his bed, screaming. He was with his parents and older brother, Martin, who was 18, celebrating Martin's graduation and Josh's birthday.

Josh woke up after being knocked out moments later to a crackling sound, and Martin's voice. The parents, Bart and Marrie, were dead. Martin, who was injured badly from a dresser that tipped over and onto him, was trying to wake Josh up. "Josh... JOSH! Wake up! We gotta get outta here! The ships on fire and sinkin! Josh!" he yelled, shaking the boy.

Josh, like his brother and parents, were of British decent (OOC: No, ViZion isn't in Britain... we're in Italy...). Josh had short blond hair, and the rare green eyes. He was well liked by the girls, but, being a 9 year old boy, he shied away from them, prefering to be with his friends and play basketball and baseball.

Martin was a tall, athletic, blond-haired, blue-eyed, captian of the football team guy. He, too, was well liked by the girls, but unlike his younger brother, did not shy away from them. (  )

As Josh finally came around, Martin quickly pulled him to his feet. "C'mon, lets get outta here... the ships goin down!" he said, nearly yelling into Joshes ear. Josh, trying to figure everything out, said "What happened? What's goin on?"

"I donno what happened, all I know is we gotta get off this damn ship..." Josh stopped all of a sudden. "What about mom... dad? Where are they?" he said, as fear suddenly desended on him. "They... they're gone. We gotta go! They'd want us to go!" he yells impatiently, and pulling Josh out of the cabin.

An hour later, Josh, Martin, and those few who survived were on the small island. The sun was just begining to appear, and the ship was out of sight. Only some pieces of the ship, luggage, and a few other things, were seen, along with multiple floating corpses.

OOC: We need some Char RPing here of the 40 or so survivers stranded... no way to contact anyone for any help... and the ship had gone through a storm, thus communication and tracking had been losted about three hours before this happened. We could also use some search parties, though make it a little while before the people are found. The last known location of the ship was about 60 miles south-west of their location. The island is a tropical island, full of trees, fruits, etc... lots of life.

Oh, and this ship had people from across NS, not just ViZion. So, you can RP someone or some people from your nation... or claim your dead... however you wanna do it.

"What replied," the Captain.

"Yes Sir it was a Vizionian cruise liner. 12 Matichians were onboard and Matich has ordered a search and rescue operation. Admiral Martin has ordered us to proceed to the vicinity," said the Lt.

"Alright," said the Captain.

2 Coast Guard Cutters, and two search planes have been ordered to the scene. They are coming from bases on Wake Island.

Scott Hall and his family of five were onboard the ship at the time of the explosion.

"Nick wake up," said Scott to his son.

"Dad? What happened," said Nick?

"I dont know son. There was an explosion and we made it to this island. Luckily we all made it," responded Scott.

Meanwhile, in the palace of Starlight Angel's president, Thomas the Stampede.

"Excuse me, Mr President, but we have a small situation." President The Stampede's Chief of Intelligence said.

The stout, balding man in the red trenchcoat turned in his seat to face his visitor.

"Our agent aboard the Ilomia's gone missing, right?" the president asked.

The Chief of Intelligence was slightly shocked that his leader knew.

"Don't be so surprised Gordon. I just saw it on MNB News." Thomas said.

"Is that why there's that big sateleitte dish on top of the palace? To watch foreign news?" Gordon said with a wry grin.

"Of course not. Our nation, fine as it is, doesn't have any decent fishing networks, so I need to get them from around the world." Thomas replied.

"So what shall we do about our missing agent?" Gordon asked. "We could have the Gigan or the Rodan in the area the ship went down in within 24 hours."

"We'll send neither of those. We need them here in case General Starcloud and his rebels decide to show up again." President The Stampede said. "Get Admiral Watson on the line and tell him to send one of our Jukon-class subs with four M-Types."

"Right away sir." Gordon said before bowing slightly and leaving the office.

King Alaric sat on the veranda of his summer compound, nursing a pint of Bass Ale, rolling a Macanudo between his fingers. He was gazing with a kind of blank look on his face, out into the distance where his herd of llamas were grazing in the clover.
Those who knew him knew that his mind was racing along at a frightening pace. He was contemplating having a royal wet t-shirt competition when his aide-de-camp, Captain LeFevre, entered the room. He was still dressed in his Jimmy Buffet get-up, having come directly from a 3-day luau in the deepest woods.
Alaric glanced at him and chuckled, "What the hell is that all about, Captain?' But then he noticed that LeFevre wasn't smiling.
"Sire, we just got a report in that a ViZionian cruise ship blew up in mid-cruise. No clue as to what happened, or how many, if any, survivors."
"Any of our people on the ship?"
"Yes, Sire, two doctors from Nebadon, a school teacher from Gonad 1, and a group of 8th graders on a class trip, from Vorondadek."
"Captain, make all the usual inquiries. I want to know what happened, and I want to know ASAP."
"Sire, we have two Blackhawks and a MASH Unit on the way. Apparently, there isn't enough of the ship left to gather info from, but our SpecOps boys will find something....I'm sure of it."
"Keep me posted, Captain."

"... election outcomes.

The Secretary of State for the Navy, Dame Rosanna Vasard, has announced that Imperial ships were put to sea six hours ago to search for the missing ViZioner cruise liner Ilomia.

The Ilomia is believed to have been destroyed by a mysterious explosion several dozen nm north-east of its last known location, which was, two days ago, some 80 nm east of the Askilies Island chain in the Duchy of Intan.

Dame Rosanna said that the pattern of debris indicated in satellite photos indicates that the ship was driven off-course by a severe storm in the area several days ago.

"This means that the ship was literally just outside Macisikani territorial waters, and because the cruise ship was lost on our very doorstep, it is in the interests of the Holy Empire to aid in any search."

Debris from the ship have already been collected by Imperial Navy cutters, and are indicative of an explosion.

The cause is still unknown.

The Secretariat of the Navy has identified a number of islands in the area that could have provided a refuge for any survivors, including a several that are Macisikani.

Any foreign naval vessel participating in the search is encouraged to identify themselves to the Ministries of Defence and External Affairs in case they enter Macisikani Territorial waters.

An interesting development in the western provinces today..."

Before Greg could open his eyes, he could feel the heat of the sun burning through his eyelids. As he slowly regained consciousness, various senses provided more and more information to him. He could hear the crashing of waves; he could smell the scent of ocean mist, intermixed with some sort of deep, sweet, fruity smell; he could feel the sand all around him. His tongue ran across his lips, and he could taste the sand and salt on them. He could also feel how dry and chapped they were. It was at this time that he first felt thirsty.

Damn, I don't want to open my eyes because I don't want to see what I think I'll see, Greg thought.

However, the need to quench his thirst got the best of him, and he opened his eyes, sat up, and looked around. He was lying ashore on a little cove. The waves washed up with the tide barely feet from where he was on the beach. Two small suitcases were slightly further down the beach.

Shit... Greg thought with a frown.

Looking around, and coming to the obvious conclusion that the whole Ilomia explosion was not an episode of an insane mind, he decided to solve the most important problem first. Thus, he ventured into the jungle in search of a spring.

Stewpot clung valiantly to his somehow-floating luggage case and kicked his legs. Seawater rushed into his mouth as he tried to keep his head above the water and he had to fling himself on top of his dark-green case like a turtle on its back. He lay there coughing and finally got to look around. He saw an island close by, with at least two figures walking around on it. Debris was all around him in the water, and he decided to paddle his way over.

Finally he came ashore and hopped off his case. Without a thought for the two men talking on the beach, he dragged his case into the safety of the beach and opened it. He knew he was getting strange looks from the men, but then again he drew strange looks wherever he went.

He withrew another case from his luggage, long, thin and solid. He opened that and relief washed over his face. His Pool cue was safe, his lucky cue that he took to every tournament. The one he was travelling to on the Ilomia before all hell had broken loose.

He turned to the men and smiled, standing up to his full height of four-feet one-and-a-half.

"Hi!" he said, brushing the sand from his khaki shorts. "I'm Stew. Stewpot Hooligan, Pool player extraordinaire and, yes, I am a person of short stature. Who are you guys?"

On the bridge of the S.S. Ilomia, five seconds before explosion
"Engineering, we show the main pressure valve in red. Please confirm?" Luitenant Don Corseman, shift commander for the Ilomia asked into the into the intercom pannel. Where the hell was the captain when you needed him?

"Confirmed, were switching to...HOLY FUCK, RE--" the cheif engineers response was cut off by a large boom, and then suddenly the luitenant felt himself thrown forward onto the center command console of the bridge. Several more crewmembers were also thrown across the room, and one actually through the window and down two stories to the deck by the explosion.

As the rear of the ship (where the bridge was located) fell back to the ground, Corseman slide to the ground. Pulling himself up, he looked across the bridge. The four remaining officers were pulling themselves up, one of them turned towards Corseman. "Luitenant, as shift commander you have authority to activ--"

"EMERGENCY QUARTERS! ALL PERSONEL!" As he yelled it, the ensign hit the button on the control pannel in front of him, and a klaxon began sounding. "Report!"

Another ensign across the room turned to respond, but never got the chance. Suddenly, a second explosion occured, and all five bridge officers watched in horror as a propellor went flying through the ship below them, and then out the side, immediatly causing the ship to shift to port, where a large whole had been created in the hull.

"Close of that section, and get me..." Again, Don was cut off by a large explosion, this time rocking the ship greatly to Starboard, before causing an even greater slant to port.

"Luitenant, taking on water in compartments A-F, and H-J. Engineering is reporting heavy flooding, and we've lost contact with main electri.."

"Sir, the emergency lockoff systems been overflowed, none of the doors are closing. Were taking on heavy water, and it looks like..."

"Don, report from engineering, ship has been split in decks 1-4."

The final report shut all the officers up. Everyone stared at the luitenant. If the ship had been split, saving it would be impossible. "Activate abandon ship, all crew and passengers. Now." Not waiting for their response, Don hit the button himself, causing the ships main foghorn to blow six time, and then every klaxon and alarm bell on the ship to begin ringing. "Come on people, get to your liftboat stations, now."

No one needed to be told twice. Immediatly, the bridge crew, excepting the communications officer (who was reporting SOS frantically) took off down the stairs to the main deck. Once there, they made for their lifeboat stations, and began loading those surviving passengers on. Those officers alive belowdecks began moving upwards, bringing what injured personel with them.

The next several minutes would be a buz of activity, and in all only three of the ships twelve lifeboats would be cast away. On one of them would be Corseman. Yet, the three lifeboats, though only partially full, were carrying the total number of people who had not fallen or jumped overboard, or who were not dead. In all, it was suspected that around twenty of the passengers and ten of the crew had made it to lifeboats, and another fourty or so had fallen ofboard. Of those fourty, only around ten might make it to shore.

Five minutes later, the three lifeboats, using their engines, pulled up to the shore of the small island, and the crew, and then the passengers, jumped out. Not far from them, a group of a few passengers who had swam ashore were gavering. Turning, Luitenant Corseman surveyed the group, and realized he was the highest ranking officer to make it off. "Come on people, lets see who else made it." he said, and made off towards the group.

OOC: Apologies for the long post and slightly large role I might have just taken, but it seemed to me that at least some of the crew and passengers would get off via the endlessly practiced abandom ship plan.

How bout you, Sam?"

Sam laughed as he sat back down.

"Owch. Painful memory. I was on my way to the back of the ship when it all happened. I remember thinking how great the margarita I'd just was when I found myself flyin'. I thought it was odd 'cause I hadn't had much to drink."

He re-enacted his quick flight with his hand.

"As I was about to become reunited with the deck, the deck suddenly dropped and it took me a little longer to hit."

He held his head for a moment.

"Hurt like Hell too. Then I see the back end of the boat start going down. Seeing as how I'm a navy man, I've seen a ship or two go under. I knew that if I wanted to get off that thing, I'd have to get off and away before I got sucked down with the boat."

He fell back on the sand.

"So what say we go find shelter or food? Or some other survivors who already have both?"

It was supposed to have been a once in a life time trip, and as she walked along the beach she guessed that it really was in a way. However, just not in the way that she had imagined.

Sure the first few days had been fantastic, lying on the deck of the massive cruise ship drinking margarita's all day with her two friends. The eye candy on board had kept her mind off of home and work and all the tension those two things had brought into her life. Answering phones for the insurance agency was not a glamerous job at all, and everyday she got nothing but shit from her bosses; this was a much needed and long awaited vacation away from it all. Sure she could have just taken two weeks to stay at the William Kidd Resort in Jiggady but that was still to close to home, she needed adventure and to see something new.

Again at these thoughts she realized that this was an adventure and that she was seeing something new, but not what she had expected, as she casually strolled along the shady beach. Cordelia couldnt help but think of Maura and Chelsea, whom she hadnt seen in the three days she had been wandering across the island. She hadn't seen anyone in three days for that matter, and hope was beginning to fade from her fragile body.

Margarita's, what I wouldnt give for a margarita right now. She thought as her feet led her on a winding path across the beach, staggaring through the sand leaving a mismatched trail in the sand. Only one of her sandals were still on her feet, the other lost long ago when her body had plunged into the turbulant water when their lifeboat had struck the rocks. That was the last time she had seen life of any kind that wasnt island life, and she only could assume that the others aboard had drowned.

Exauhstion swept over her body, like the waves had swept over the boat and she dropped to her knees. Cordelia felt her head growing faint, as her eyes struggeled to focus on reality. The stark white of the beach seemed to overwhelm her vision and she fell foward getting a facefull of paradise. Cordelia struggeled with reality as she vainly tried to get back up, in the next instant all thought was gone and she drifted out of the planes of reality.

Message from Rear Admiral Wilson Commander of Matich Coast Guard Task Force:
To: Dame Vasard Sec of the Navy Macisikan:

I agree with you totally. Most of these islands are in or near your territory. My Government has ordered me to undertake a SAR Operation even if I must leave international waters though.

I am sending Lts. Smith and Little along with Lt. Commander Rabb to act as liason officers. I have three cutters in the area and I ask that you send a liason team so that we can both fulfill our orders peacefully and without conflict.

At this time we have recovered one body and we are continueing to search. We have three cutters, 2 planes, and 3 Seahakawks searching. The body we found if not Matichian so if you could send someone to take a look at it to see if it belongs to your nation.

Thank you for your time.

*chivalry Tran, Chivalry* he told himself and he hobbled over to the woman, and with his last bit of strength, heaved her over his shoulder and carried her over to the camp fire suli had left. *almost there* he thought to himself. *suli will be able to help her, i can't* he had jsut enough strength to set her down nicely, before he legs gave out. He tried to wake her first in dakaran, then in english "Being in need, must wake up" "Suli come back, suli goodly with the injuries, hang up" he struggled to his feet and turned aroudn in circles, looking for suli.

As Suli emerged into the small clearing he'd set up camp in, he noticed a woman lying, unconcious, by the fire. Tran looked frantic.

"What going on?" Suli asked as he started tending her wounds.

The Missile Commanders looked at each other-
"Is this island good for testing?"

They looked at the map and pointed to the island the refugees were on

"Absolutley, we can test the new low-radiation bombs there"

"Excellent- Inform the Maharajah and prepare the missile for launch."

Sgt. MacLeod spotted something in the underbrush. Or rather, smelled it....It was a body, still alive, being devoured by birds and maggots. He called out to the rest of the Team, and they hurried over. The carrion birds squawked loudly, and the flies dissipated for a moment. The man was alive...barely. He seemed to be an Arab, or Pakistani....couldn't tell because of the grime and blood. The man tirned his head and tried o focus, but all was just a blur.
He managed to croak " Allah is good, Allah is great...infidels...death...all...die..."

Sgt. MacLeod felt the man's pulse. He was dead....

Call gen. Strickland, and tell him to tellthe Kingthat we may have the missing link......

Kuragan washed up on the beach. No wounds were visible, but he was unconcious. He would be spotted shortly.

"Lets try to find some other people," Leo said as he stood up and rubbed his neck. "You were in the navy, huh? I was in the air force, myself. I was a captian before I was discharged, medical of course. How bout you?"

"Whaa....where....." Cordelia saw images returning to focus in front of her. She heard hushed voices speaking rapidly and shook her head to try and clear it.

"Who are you....what happend?" Her voice managed feebly.

Cordelia quickly shot up from the ground and looked about her. Two haggard looking men were standing over her and her mind raced to remember what last happened.

I was walking on the beach....and must have fainted.

Cordelia looked the two men over, Tran and Suli, who looked much worse for wear than she, with burns over their bodies. She had made it off the ship without much trouble or wounds, it was only when their life boat capsized that she got tossed around a bit in some rough water. Her clothes were a bit torn and her right arm a bit scraped up from some rocks but other than that her body felt fine.

"Thank you, I must have fainted with the sun and heat. Do you have any fresh water?"

Seahawk #36

"Sir, we have movement," yelled the Lt. into his radio!

"Go down and take a look," ordered the Commander.

"Yes sir," replied the Lt.

On the island:

"Master Chief secure the area and begin searching," ordered the Lt.

"Yes sir," replied the Chief.

2 minutes later:

Two Coast Guardsmen searching the island spot three people by a fire. It looked like two men and a woman. The woman seems to be hurt.

"Sir we have three people one seems to be hurt," said the Guardsmen into his radio.

"Alright. Im alerting the Falcon. See if they speak English," odered the Lt.

"Will do," replied the Guardsmen.

"Hello we are members of the Matich Coast Guard. Do you speak English," asked the Guardsmen?

"How bout you?"

"I'm on a well-deserved vacation. The ship I serve on is undergoing a nasty amount of repairs and refits after a run-in with some rebels, so the crew was given extended leave." Sam said before cupping his hand over his ear. "Is it just me or is someone trying to get our attention?"

Sam listened for another couple of moments before shrugging.

"Yeah, I think I heard something too. I think it cam from over there," Leo pointed and they changed course. They arrived in a clearing and after looking around for ten minutes they found a large piece of cloth, that looked like it was torn from a t-shirt, a bloody t-shirt. "Hey, look foot prints! Lets follow them, okay?"

"Ew, bloody," he remarked, inspecting the T-shirt, "Good idea Leo." he added as he trotted off in the direction the tracks led
