Damn that sure is a big bullet though.... you might want to include some kind of bipod or something because that would be hard to shoot just standing up.

OOC:
Soem more details about the round would be nice. since you have used the G36 as an image for the gun can we assume that this round isn't any longer than 5.56mm? which would put it into the same sort of class as the various "extreme" M16/AR15 conversions for the likes of .458SOCOM, .499LWS, .50beowulf and .50AE etc.

IF this is so at .437" then it could be an interesting round, if you can provide soem more details you might be able to find soemone here who could coem up with soem perfromance and ballists estimates.

IC: Crookfur procurment will purchase 10 of these and 10,000rounds of ammo subject to mroe details on specification.
these will serve for evaulation as to wether the new round would be a possible repalcement for our .458SOCOM specail purpose weapons.

The only other place I have heard of the 11.1mm round is on the French Martingy heavy artillery machine gun, where it is called the 11.1mm Chassepot round. It is much larger than the 5.56 NATO round, think about it. 11.1mm to NATO's 5.56mm.

Using a round such as this on a gun such as the G36 (which you are right, that pic is a G36...), would be to the extremes, if not going overboard. Unless you have done massive changes in the structure of the gun, then it will not be able to fire it. Like I said earlier, even if you had done these changes to the gun, you would still (at the least) provide with it a bipod. Your other option would be to mount it, but nowdays guns like the Browning M2HB .50 would seem more practical.

I wasn't commenting on the calibre but on the length/case length.
Rounds of 12.7mm and larger (.510phalanx) have been sucessfully fired from M16 replacment upper/barrel conversions. These are short length case rounds derived from pistol ammo.

the 5.56mm round has a case 45mm long with a rahter long bullet. this sized round with a some what blunter projectile could likely have a case length of 40-43mm.

A full length heavy machine gun round simply cannot be fired from a light weight rifle but a short psitol/SMG round can think about it this round actually has a calibre smaller than .45ACP...

Well I doubt he means his '11.1mm' round to be the same as the .50 Action Express round if thats what you mean, Crook. I think hes trying to portray it as more of the .50 Browning High Power round.
