In a surpise move today, the Imperial Senate overwhelmingly voted to subsidise all foriegn marijuana-except from UNAPS of course-in an attempt to give Imperial citizens cheap marijuana and help open up free trade to the outside world. It is expected that the cost of subsidising the foriegn marijuana industry may be as high as even one trillion dollars, but the economic impact is high.

The Imperial News Network traveled down through Imperial City, quoting a few citizens:

"Well, I never knew there was much of a marijuana indsutry, but I guess with the whole drugs being legal nowadays it seems to fit the gameplan."

"I think this is some plot to get us all on drugs to surendor to the government!"

"Good I guess. Marijuana used to be so expensive, but it's going to be much better now. Can finally get high without wasting a whole years worth of money."

The new program is expected to boost wordwide marijuana sales, pumping much needed fuel into the world economy. With this new money that governments collect from sales tax, it is obvious that they can use it to support more aide packages and thus collect more money and give more aid, boosting the economy in an endless cycle.

"As our corporation manufactures various drugs, a mere 10 billion donation would knock down our prices down by about 20%, is that possible?"

OOC: depends on the fact that the money had to come from somewhere, either reduced spending elsewhere or increased taxes, which would counter this or borrowing. That said, if the tendancy to consume (MPC) is high enough you should make more than the cost of borrowing (and interest) and so actually benifit the economy, but it might not.

IC: Notquiteaplace is glad as our drugs industry is not making that much money right now, as our people are hard working and dont have time for such things normally. We can export more now, thank you. Oh and we will send a few crates of seeds as a gesture of goodwill.
