http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~davros/nerf-cluster-bomb.gif
Illustration of cluster bomb carrier
The carrier can be fitted to carry chemical, biological, high explosive, or CBU-90 bomblets. The purpose for this is to cause havoc on the battle field or the designated target area.
http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/dumb/blu97-3.jpg
The above image is a picture of a high explosive/chemical/biological bomblet.
The chemical and biological bomblets differ from the high explosive bomblet. They contain an altitude meter and are programmed to begin to spray the contents at the 100 meter mark, to greatly increase the aflicted area.
http://www.volny.cz/recon/bomby/blu114roz.gif
The above image is an illustration of the CBU-90 bomblet and how it works.
The CBU-90 contains electrical wire which is spread out by the detonation of a small charge. There is a power source which charges the wires. The wires hit electrical power lines and cause them to short-circuit, shuting down power for the entire area.

http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~davros/nerf-cluster-bomb.gif
