AMERICAN TROOPS CAUGHT ON CAMERA ABUSING PRISONERS!!!
In Lord Rufai's palace, just outside Siphione City...
Premier Rufai looked up at the huge screen in front of him. General Anthony Strachan of the RdK and General Dorrill of the ARR Army stood beside him, looking in consternation at the sight.
The newsreader of RTV glanced up at the camera.
"Today American troops were caught on camera abusing Iraqi prisoners of war. Some were seen urinating on them, others were kicking them or beating them with their rifle butts."
Premier Rufai pondered the article for a moment and then spoke quietly, in the voice that had captured a thousand hearts and souls. "See how the International Community reacts. We can't act until we see how others take this news."
"Yessir" Generals Strachan and Dorrill replied.
"Oh, and Strachan? I want a copy of that video by noon, and I want your men working on it. I want to see if that video is real. Give me a full analysis. Send me the results of that, and also any telegrams or communiqés sent concerning the incident."
"Of course Premier. Your will be done." General Strachan bowed low before striding out of the room.

OOC Um, you do know that real life has no affect on Nation States don't you. There is no Iraq-American war in nations states so most of this is invalid. Sorry to say.
OOC: Of course I realise that, I'm not stupid. I just want to see how nations would react to the issue.
So people, just reply as though there was an Iraqi-American war, and write how your nation would react to the problem.

[OOC: I can understand the sentiment, but that, to me, is like my university's student government passing bills related to world events when they have no say in the matter. No one outside of NS is going to care what our "countries" have to say about the issue.
Though if it did have any bearing on it, I would have called the U.S. hypocrites for violating the Geneva Convention when they claim to hold it so dear.]

OOC: If you're desperate to see a nation's opinion, how's this one?
IC:
"General Chaos, Sir. Switch to SCB News."
"Today American troops were caught on camera abusing Iraqi prisoners of war. Some were seen urinating on them, others were kicking them or beating them with their rifle butts."
"Pretty cool, isn't it Major?"
"Yes, Sir. Nice to see rag-head terrorists taking the pain and brutality for once."
"It is indeed," the General said, leaning back in his chair and turning to Major Disorder, "have we still got that stock of electrified basball bats wrapped in barbed wire?"
"Yes, Sir, I believe we have."
"Seems like a good time to give Uncle Sam's brave boys a care package, doesn't it?"
"Yes, Sir. I'll send the orders off right away."

OOC: Ok, a couple things. First off, I don't mind what Rufai tried to do.. wether it was for attention or not - I wouldn't mind to see how the nations in NS would react. Secondly, Starblaydia you are sick. Since that was an IC comment, Starblaydia has been put on Doujin's blacklist (Your the only one on it right now). Doujin will indirectly support action against your nation whenever it comes about.

Sinking to someone level is not the right thing to do. Urgh. Your nations attitude sickens us.

You know about a discussion in the chambers of a foreign general, in a foreign nation, without RPing espionage or having ooc clearance... how?
OOC: I'm genius like that, Der Angst ;)

OOC: Doujin, you must be reading more into this post than I put into it. General Chaos and Major Disorder, what with also being alter-egos in South Park, are not part of the Starblaydi Military structure. They are probably in fact a pair of foul-mouthed eight-year-olds in a basement somewhere, as they are not stated as being in a command bunker or official office. One makes a rather racist opinion, I grant you, represtentative of his views, but since when does the opinion of one person in a nation (who isn't either a dictator nor confirmed as a representative of the nation) dictate international policy? You may have also got the impression that the care packages consisted of the special bats, in which you are mistaken. They would contain letters from children, chocolate bars and messages of hope.
*shrugs* Whatever...
[EDIT: It should, of course, have been Dr. Chaos and General Disorder. My bad
Perhaps my first response to this thread should have really been a big fat  but I'm on a famous nation's blacklist. Wayhey!]
Chancellor Carver picked up his morning briefing, interested to see in the American war in Iraq. "And sir, there has been an abuse scandal in one of the prisons. Anything you want to do?"
"Not really, this shit happens in war. You have a military of close to two million people and as poorly funded in boot and recruiting as theirs is, this is bound to happen. There will be rotten eggs."
"Yes, sir. I agree."
"And this isn't about torturing these people, its about sex and homosexuality. Why in the world would they put women, young women, in charge of prisoners? That is wrong from the start. And look here, Charlie, they also put a man with assault orders and an abusive past in charge as a specialist. That's what's wrong with their army."
"Well sir, you can't say that it isn't bad."
"Sure its bad, but what's even worse is the fact that these terrorists, combatants mind you, are being treated as nicely as they are. They have little dipshit lawyers tending to their needs, preparing to defend their case. They have ethnic meals and they are allowed prayer time. Last time I checked, prisoners...either civilian or combatant, didn't have these rights. Why should the US bother with due process when they are fighting a war on terror? Hell, their IRS can summarily arrest? Why can't their intelligence departments and the military?" He sighed. "They aren't winning the front on terrorism because their troops aren't allowed to fight."
"What do you mean, sir?"
"US soldiers are trained to kill, and they do a damned good job at training them, too! Why in the f*** should they sit around and do police work when they should be doing their job and fighting terrorism at its heart! Hell, they should look at the Israelis. The Israelis have been combating terrorism for 40 years! They have far better police to civilian or police to land coverage ratios, and they certainly have much more funding going to this! The US has too many strategic locations to defend and they aren't going to get anywhere if they are busy training Iraqis to do their jobs."
"Yes, Mr. Chancellor."
"The thing that bothers me, Charlie, is that the media doesn't cover the far more important events....like the decapitations of Nick Berg, Daniel Pearl, the attacks on 9/11. There wasn't enough coverage on the mustard gas found in the shells, or the sarin gas! Have you even heard of the bombers that were hidden in the ground by an airport? The only reason they were discovered was because one of the Americans tripped over a stabilizer! These planes were in nearly perfect shape and definitely capable. Did you hear anything about that on the liberal media? No. Ahh...anything else, Charlie?"
"No, sir...that would be the end of it."
OOC: Starguy, Doujin is hardly famous...and certainly isn't much to be afraid of. If you confuse OOC information with IC statements, you ought to be ignored. Yes, Doujin...I am talking to you. You ought to be ignored. Now don't hijack the thread. Obviously this was made for the intentions of actually RPing a scenario relevant to the modern world that nations are dealing with as we speak. The Lord General of the Steel Legions sat at his desk watching the news come through. General Dresk began laughing. "These fools think some stupid pictures, kicking a few people and beating them is torture! These morons dont know what torture is! Let me have them for a while, a couple of minutes in the Excruciator and they will be begging to have americans beating them again. If they live long enough."
