Stargate: Goa'uld Invasion Part I

System Lord Yu
25-05-2004, 00:56
OOC: This is a Stargate RP where the Goa'uld system lords are invading Earth. Please do not post unless you have signed up at http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=146915&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 and have talked to me about your role. I will tell you whether you are involved in this particular thread or not.
System Lord Yu

The Jade Emperor, Yu Huang Shang-Ti, sat in his seat, one of obvious oriental design, in the circular meeting room of the neutral space station located in the Hassara System. He wore a regal, silken robe of red, and he looked imperiously upon the other Goa'uld system lords present: Apophis, Ba'al, Sokar, Heru-ur, Cronus, and the abomination, Anubis. None of them he particularly trusted. Least of all Sokar and Anubis, whom he did not wish to grant system lord status to. But alas, the vote needed not to be unanimous, and he was outvoted. The other system lords were fools for accepting these vile ones into their midst. No matter. He could make use of even those two.

His lo'taur, an unhosted slave, stood behind his chair, head bowed slightly. The lo'taur was wearing all black, the standard garment color of all lo'taurs, and his eyes were slanted, indicating his heritage. Having a lo'taur around was nice, other than the obvious fact that they were one's slaves. But should anything happen to Yu's current host body, his lo'taur would make for an easy prey for a new host.

Over the past couple of days of the summit of the system lords, a massive plan had been drawn up regarding the Tau'ri threat that was on the rise for the past several years. Many disagreements erupted as prides clashed, yet somehow, those were smoothed out enough to continue with what was more important. Yu calmly stroked his beard as the final plans were cemented and a silence fell over the room.

"It is agreed, then," Lord Yu said in his deep, resonating, Goa'uld voice. "We will call a truce for the duration of the invasion of the Tau'ri. Our fleets will arrive at the designated coordinates at the designated time and end the pestilence that is the Tau'ri once and for all. Let us conclude this summit."

The meeting room darkened except for the floor at the center of the room, where all the seats were facing. An electronic humming started, followed by whooshing noises as five rings appeared in the middle of the room, hovering in place, one on top of another. A bright flash of light burst forth from inbetween the rings, and the rings disappeared, sliding back into their hidden compartments. Now, instead of empty space in the center of the room, there stood an ornate container filled with liquid. Swimming around within were a number of Goa'uld symbiotes.

Yu stood and approached the tank.

The bridge of VSV-Gralla was silent except for the occasional beeps, clicks, and humms from the ships enviromental systems, computers and other various electronics.
"I just don't get it captain," Complained Commander Reilly "We have been here- a full atatcking fleet -scanning the solar system!"
"Vi2o Intel has its ways, Reilly. We will find out soon enough why we are really here. By the way, how are the scans going?"
Reilly hands Captain Harris an electronic pad. "Space dust...oh...and guess what, we found some background radiation."
Harris Looked up from the pad. "In the years that you and I have been on this ship, never have I been on such a seeming pointless mission..."

Little did the captain and his number one know what will breach their proximity scanners in only a matter of time.

Commander Vittek lounged lazily about in his ready room aboard the CFV Bastion. Most of the fleet had been diverted for the war against TFU that was gearing up. That left just him and his four 'Liberator' class destroyers that had remained behind to defend the nation.

Truth be told, it was intensely boring work that Vittek resented. He yearned for the glory of a ship to ship battle, matching firepower and wits, filling the space between the combatants with millions of gigawatts of death. It was invigorating. That is why such a 'quiet' post was so offensive to Vittek and his tiny fleet.

But still, they labored on. Little did they know that the scene above Earth was about to get very, very exciting...

OOC: I'm sorry, but I accidentally deleted the TG you sent me detailing the invasion. I've pretty much forgotten my time to appear

IC:

Ba'al stared at the other System Lords, barely containing the disdain he felt at the mere sight of them. These petty fools were beneath him, he controlled the largest fleet in the Goa'uld Empire. He needed no help, especially not from their kind. Yet the sad fact was that he did need their help to deal with the Tau'ri, for, though he could topple their cities from Above, slaves would be lost without the nearly infinite Jaffa at the command of the other Goa'uld.

"Ti'u, kel'sha. Tal'shak."

Ba'al arose along with Lord Yu, approaching the tank in synch with the rest of the Goa'uld. He reaches inside......... (I believe we can skip the description of this particular ceremony)........

"Ya'isid ma'gue tok Tau'ri Shor'wai'e - Yas - Yas"

(OOC: I'm assuming we're ignoring the fact Apophis has my fleet and I'm dead, yes?)
Heru'Ur walked forward to the tank with the others. They were useful to him, the Tau'ri were a menace and needed to be stopped. They'd lost him several Ha'taks, and those weren't cheap. The fools would pay for incurring the wrath of the god Heru'ur!
Yet he couldn't do it alone, he needed the help of the others. He and Apophis had both been assigned to Earth's invasion, but he intended to see to it that only one of them was victorious...
He smiled.

Lord Apphis looked around the circular room with anger and a small ammount of hatred. He did not like the fact that he was aiding the other system lords nor did he enjoy it, however it was a necessary task. The tau'ri must be destroyed. and the only way for it to happen would be the combined assistance of the other system lords. Once this battle is over he thought to himself, some of the system lords will be weakened enough for me to attack and destroy them but he quickly ruled that thought out of his head. The pressing concern was Earth.

The proposal put forward by Lord Yu was acceptable. Although he did not like the thought of losing some Hatak's it was almost guaranteed to happen. The Earthlings had made alliances. They had gained new weapons. Casulties were to be expected.

Once the decision had been reached Apophis stood and made his way to the tank.

With a serpent sounding hiss, the Door to the Chamber opened. Light seemed to darken as a Black Robed Figure stood in the door. The Figure was above average height, was well built, and looked imposing. As it came into the light, it turned out to be a Crimson haired Woman, very beautiful, but with eyes like smouldering ashes. She bowed to all the System Lords, and looked up. "System Lords Yu Huang Shang-Ti, Apophis, Anubis, Heru-ur, So'kar, and Ba'al, may I present to you my almighty Master. The Serpent Overlord of the distant Galaxy Ur'harar: Serpantis..." she announced. Her voice was quite hardened, and as she moved her hands to her sides and bowed, Black Leather Gloves could be seen on her hands. She stood aside, her black boots reflecting the light coming from the chamber.

Then, footsteps could be heard in the direction of the doorway. For a few seconds the footsteps continued, but no-one could be seen...that is, until a tall and very imposing Dark Figure emerged from the doorway. The robes he wore were of a colour so dark, it could not be seen in shadows, which served as a great trick of the eye. He bowed, and then, standing upright, pulled the hood of his robe down, and a bone coloured mask appeared, along with a Bald Head.

He grinned behind the mask. "Greetings System Lord Yu Huang Shang-Ti. I am amazed that you have remembered my existance, considering I have not been contacted by any of you for many years." he said. His voice was a near metallic screech, but it resembled something like a Droid's voice. He sighed, and then shook his head. "So tell me Yu Huang, my old friend, why have you called me back to this Galaxy?" he asked...

OOC: Outer Heaven MK II's post will be reworked, so hold off on responding to Serpantis. As for defending Earth...the invasion hasn't started yet. There's nothing to defend Earth from at this point in time. No one knows about the plan yet other than the people I've TG'ed saying they'll find out about it before anyone else does.

By the way, the fighting isn't going to happen on this thread. Goa'uld Invasion Part I is for the various things that'll happen before the invasion. So fleet movements in response to the Goa'uld invasion is a wee bit out of place at the moment :)

Sokar sat in his seat looking at the other system lords. 'Those fools thought I was dead! Now hear I am alive and well, I wounder what they're thinking. As soon as the humans have been anihilated, I will reclaim my position as dominant system lord,' He thought to himself. Little did the others know, he had once again assembled a massive fleet, but they were all cloaked ships.

Meanwhile several low ranking jaffa on a desolate planet open a stargate. Unknown to them a Re'tu spy has decided to follow.

Emerging on the other side the Re'tu spy is surprised to wind up on a Goa'uld ship. Panic sets in on the Re'tu where was he? Is it a Goa'uld trap?... No, the jaffa are gone from the room. There are no TER guns, or extra-phase sensors. Its relatively clear... Time to do a little intell.

StormHook.com announced today that it has launched the companies first Skyhook Space Elevator. The CEO Vladimir Trachknosky gave a press conference around 3:30 today. "I'm pleased to announce the imminent opening of StormHook 1." He continued, "Within the hour the first payload craft will fly up to the lower end of the Skyhook and be quickly thrown into orbit." By next week preliminary tests and internal deliveries will be completed and StormHook 1 will be open for commercial use.

This announcement came as a surprise to most of the world; as StormHook.com is only a young start-up, yet StormHook and it's parent's subsidiaries have made major breakthroughs in several fields that have enabled the StormHook to be developed in almost complete secrecy.

Some of the more notable breakthroughs have been publically announced in the last two weeks, despite their discoveries several months or even years ago. NanoLightning (also a subsidiary of Green Storm Inc.) recently stumbled upon the key element of the Skyhook, a signficantly stronger design of Nanotubes dubbed "Nanoditubes", or "Nandibles" for short. These Nandibles allow the Skyhook to remain incredibly strong, yet light enough to stay in orbit. Several other discoveries were made possible by AirChange Inc. (IPO in 3 weeks), Polkrat Industries)(PRATI)), Yavichev Heavy Machinary (YVHM) and Mid-Nevada Mechanical Labs.(MNML) (All owned by Green Storm Inc.)

Stormhook.com (STRMHK) is funded largely by independent investors and the private fortune of Vladimir Trachknosky. In the hours before the markets closed StormHook.com stock rose 554%. Green Storm Inc. (GRNSTRM) stock went up 134% in the same time, finishing off an explosive boom as the last few weeks announcements by it's subsidiaries have been driving it's stock higher daily. Stocks are expected to climb tomorrow as well.

The Rhinaran agent watched the Goa'uld meeting from his position, safe under his personal cloaking device. This was an immense threat to the Dominion, and word must be sent back to warn them of the invasion.

Suddenly electrical discharges surged through his stealth suit, creating noise and light as the cloaking unit began to fail on him.

No! Not now! Not here!

Too late, the System Lords have taken notice. He must get this information back home so that the invasion could be stopped. And so, even as the stealth suit was breaking down on him and he became visible to everyone, covered completely in black with electrical components attached to various parts of the body, he made a dash for the exit.

The Rhinaran agent tapped a command into this wrist device, sending everything he had recorded to his cloaked ship nearby as well as ordering the ship to go on auto-pilot back to the Dominion to transmit what was discovered. He kept running for the exit, only to feel an immense force slamming into him. It threw him harshly against the wall and he got knocked out.

Outside of the space station, a small craft, undetectable to most sensor technologies, silently slipped through the shields of the station, went some distance away, and entered hyperspace back to Earth.

Three massive ovoids appeared halfway between the 4th and 3rd planets of the system, at first glance they seemed to be misshapen asteroids. They had only recently visited this system and were on a diplomatic mission. They had a keen interest in the variety of plants and insects that could be found on this planet, the larger mammals and reptiles were nothing unique, however.

Still, Base had felt it important to establish diplomatic ties with the system and thus had dispatched the convoy. It was a larger than normal convoy, but the entire mission was tentatively expected to take a year, or longer. Entering the system was to be completed in stages, the three Yuk'na cruisers were to make sure any real asteroids were out of the way for the habitation ship. A massive thing, complete drain on resources, and to use one on a mission like this. Sr. War Tactician Hallith mur'Hallith thought.

Like a true Cauthu Arn fighter he refused to be stationed on the diplomatic ships, choosing instead to have his flagship for this mission be the Yumika, the center of the three Yuk'nas.

The rest of the convoy, a ship with young of any bio that might need to be replaced, and the support people for the fleet and one Thii command ship, that housed the Unihalith that ran the entire fleet.

Okay, we've had the time to clear the area, it should be any time now. Almost on cue the habitation ship appeared right in the center of the three Yuk'na cruisers. Glad we got an experienced one.

Moments after the two smallest ships appeared, the Thii ship almost immediately moving to the space between the Yuk'na cruisers and the habitation ship, almost landing on the surface of the habitation ship.

The convoy was in position and ready to broadcast the announcement of its arrival.

Yu looked over at the impudent Osiris, who only recently came back to the system lord scene and was already assuming authority which he did not have. When this would be all over, and Osiris' pitiful excuse for a fleet would be in disarray, he would pay dearly for assuming such a tone with his superiors. That fool.

But that aside, this new outbreak of dissension amongst the system lord was once again slowing their efforts to take out the Tau'ri. Almost throwing Apophis' hand down upon releasing it, Yu said to Osiris, while making sure to not have his back on Apophis, "You should not have showed up late."

With a sharp turn, Yu faced his chair, the ends of his silken robe fluttering briefly behind him as he went to sit back down.

OOC: This is replacing my first intro post, as I wasn't aware that the defenders didn't know of the invasion as of yet.

At the shipyards of Northrop Grumman, a massive flotilla broke their connections with the spacedock. In total, over 74 ships crowded the local space. The fleet consisted of:
-7 Prometheus class(each with 6 F-302s)
-8 F-302 fighters
-10 Tigerclaw class destroyers
-10 Loki frigates
-24 Akira cruisers
-13 BOP
-8 Asgard Motherships
-4 Galaxy class starships
Save for the Promethei, the F-302s and 4 Akiras, the fleet was entirely new. All they were waiting for was an assignment.

Although this was not entirely correct since during the confusion he had activated a crystal inside his right gauntlet, which meant his many warriors and ships would be ready for war sitting as they were within easy reach of the meeting place.

Cronos stood up as the suggustion that something HAD to be done about the Tau'ri menace. He smiled that arrogant smile that the others knew very well (with the exception of Anubis). That smile issued the following words:

"I agree, it is time that the Tau'ri were made to pay for their sins against the Gods"

"It is time my brothers, we may hate each other unconditionally but we all hate the Tau'ri far more, they have contested our rule for too long and with the help and protection of the accursed Asgard they have been a thorn in our side for too long. They must be annilated or made to serve us"

He glanced at Lord Yu his smile never wavering, as Yu detailed his strategy to them.

"My Lord Yu, I see the wisdom in your plan. I will be pleased to attack 'Earth' with you. But I feel it prudent that we should gather intelligence about Earth's actual defences and allies before we attack. Perhaps it is time for an assault on one of the allies of the Tau'ri to test their strength and resolve before the assault can begin"

He glanced again in the general direction of Anubis with a mark of disgust that would leave any non system lord with a bitter taste in their mouth. He motioned to his Lo'tar to bring him some light refreshment, he needed to think about how to minimise his losses against the Tau'ri and wipe out or enslave the Tau'ri or avoid the feeding frenzy that the destruction of the Tau'ri would cause. He leant against the small table his Lo'tar had brought in and stared at the tank of Symbiotes.

Anubis saw the look Cronos gave him, butthought nothing of it.
I think we should find out about there defences before we attack.

Cronos looked not the least suprised by Anubis' agreement on this matter. Since he himself according to Cronos' agents had been hurt recently by Tau'ri forces particullarily the rumoured to be dead Colonel O'Neil. It made logical sense that Anubis should concur to his idea since it was the militarily prudent thing to do especially with a such a potentially unpredictable enemy such as the Tau'ri.

Cronus then precided to suggust a role for his forces:

" My forces would be best suited to destroying whatever weaponry the Tau'ri are utlising as their Planetary Defence Systems, however i will be willing to assist any land invasion with some of my regular Jaffa units since i will not be requiring them in my operations against space targets "

Cronus walked over to a small crystal filled control pad in the middle of the meeting place and activated a map of the Tau'ri infested areas and their allies locations particullarily singling out those with space travel capacity. He activated another map next to other showing Earth and its borders. He then assumed his place next to the others.

"Does anyone care to lead this alliance of Gods?, we cannot bicker if we are to make this campaign a success we must have one leader who is willing to making equal sacrifice with everyone so that we may free ourselves of this menace forever"

He then preceded to watch the others intently to see their reactions.

"NO! We must not have a leader, for that would cause a power struggle and destroy the invasion before it begins.

Good, something we agree on.

"I have been watching the Tau'ri," said Yu in his resonating voice. "They now possess several ships matching a ha'tak class vessel, but those are limited. With our superior numbers, we can easily defeat their pitiful fleets. This is exactly why we must strike now, before they build more ships that can challenge us."

He then proposed a modification to the plan that ought to satisfy everyone as well as the timeline for when everything would happen.

Osiris sat back, enjoying everything. The System lords were starting to trust each other...or at least agree, which was good enough. Osiris however, didn't trust any of them further than the hairs on his head. And from the fact that his host was bald, well, all the better. But, he did trust Anubis. Anubis was big and powerful, and probably the best ally to have. When the discussion was over, Osiris would need to chat with him...

But then Osiris grinned at how well executed the Spy debacle was. As he and his Lo'taur had transported to the Station, he quickly hacked a terminal, and he lowered the shields, and de-activated most of the external and interal sensors, allowing the spy to enter. Of course, not only did his Lo'taur make his arrival look powerful, but it also covered up the fact that he'd let the spy in. But, Osiris was smart, and he'd pulled up Apophis' access codes, and masked his hack as if Apophis had done it. And none of the fools would ever know...

Cronos sipped the wine his Lo'taur had brought him. When Lord Yu went on to suggusting a modification to the plan, he vaguely concured. It didn't matter wholly to him how the other system lord fared in this assault, as long as they took some losses especially in Ha'taks. That would suit him just fine.

He looked again towards Anubis, his spies (the ones who hadn't been killed very quickly and very painfully) had sent word of Anubis' advanced ships and troops. He would need to keep a close eye upon them, discern if possible how to get his own or at least know how to kill/neutralise them.

He then spoke up:

"My Brothers, if we are all agreed i believe the time for our plans to be put into action has come, let us retire to our forces and prepare them for this. Unless of course any of you has anything they would like to add?"

He glared at the others again waiting for a reply.

"I feel I need only to add this; Let us strike now, before the insolent Tau'ri get wind of this conference!"

Then shall we start this invasion?

Osiris nodded, "Let us start then. Unless there's anything anyone else wants to add?" he said, getting up. "And seeing as we've agreed, I need not to hide my face..." he said. And with that, using his leather clad hands; he put his hands in some crevasses, and pulled...hard. With a sound resembling flesh snapping, Osiris' mask came off...

...And the System Lords couldn't believe what they saw. Even though Osiris had taken his bone mask off, it didn't look like that at all. His eyes were there, as were his nose and mouth, but his face was gone. Instead, there was scared crumbling flesh on his chin, and it ended before his mouth. His mouth was then missing a lip, and the other was scarred in many places. Going up, his cheeks had skin in places, all of them visibly burnt/scarred, and gradually, the skin got more frequent towards the ears. His nose was a mesh of singed flesh over bone.

The cartilage on the end of his nose was torn in a few places, and also burnt. Going up, the nose started to lose more skin. The bridge, it was devoid of any flesh. Osiris had no eyelids, eyelashes, or eyebrows. Instead, he had purple/red-singed bags of flesh under his eyes, and his eyes were scarred. His eyes were red, and the pupils on each eye were split into two. By the looks of it, Osiris was blind, with his , vacant stare. He looked at everyone, grinning, creating a worse image. His forehead, by the way, was horribly singed.

"This, my...friends, is my face." he said. He moved his head around to make sure everyone got a good look.

Ba'al stares directly at Osiris without blinking an eye.

"So? What relevance does this have? Do not continue to waste our time."

He turns to the rest of the System Lords, unphased by Osiris's appearance

"If nobody else wishes to bore us, shall we begin the attack? I hunger to taste the blood of the Tau'ri!"

OOC:

Osiris choosing an ugly host and not bothering to use a sarcophagus to heal the damage on his face was of no concern to Yu the Great. It only showed how much more foolish the long dormant Osiris had become.

"Let us depart," Yu agreed, and stood up to head for the exit.
