Doujinshi Battlefleet Athena - 100 miles off the coast of Feazanthia
"Sir, we are receiving a transmission originating from Feazanthia!"

"Impossible. Let's hear it..." the Admiral walked over to the computer monitor aboard the Thunder Child Class Battleship, DN Crossroads.

"Dear god, notify Doujin Military Command, and prepare our NBC squad. We will be the staging point for a rescue operation. Activate all NBC systems in the fleet, and move within radiation range."

"Comrade Premier!" shouted Gorbachev. "Ve have comfirmation! Unknown seegnal ees from Feazanthia!"

"Goddamnit. I vant a desolation squad in there, now! Order in the nearest wessel to be ready to take on passengers. Have the desolation squad ready to go, five minutes ago!"

Withing half an hour, thirty extremely fit men in heavy metal suits assembled outside a C-5A Galaxy. They boarded the massive plane and stepped into a large Raysian drop box. Their target: Feazanthia City. Or what was left of it.

The VTOL craft landed, and hundreds of men carrying equipment and VTOL equipment jumped off and began rescue operations. Men worked on setting up a base, whilst the others prepared their vehicles for rescue operations - sensors were set up and drilling began as the Doujinshi rescue operation searched for the people of Feazanthia.

The C-5 carrying the Rodinan Desolators opened its massive cargo doors and the drop box slid out, firing its jets. The box came to a rest approximately four kilometers from the Doujin base. The lead Desolation team member stepped out first. His suit was red.

"Alright, team. Listen up. Ve are here to find the Feazanthians and get them out without harm. Get your drills ready and move out. That's an order!"

The twenty-nine other team members jogged out. A second C-5 flew overhead dropping two more boxes. Each one had an APC inside. Fifteen Desolators got onto the sides of the APCs and headed towards the ruined city center.

OOC-This is what a Desolation Team Member looks like. They can operate for long times in irradiated areas due to central air and water recycling units on the back. This one is carrying an undeployed drill.

Drake Ramoray slumped forward, retching. He dropped the single working communications device that the four square kilometer shelter had.
"Honey! Are you alright?" His wife, Elizabeth, rushed over. She was skeleton-thin, and most of her hair had fallen out because of the radiation.
"I'm...I'm fine."
"Did you send the message?"
"I...I think it went. We can only wait now. What's our status?"
"We lost contact with sector three earlier this morning. The other barriers are holding, though."
"And our supplies?"
"If we ration out the food, we have about three months."
"And the water?"
"Two days." Drake said nothing to this. "Do you think they'll come?" inquired his wife.
"We can only hope. If Doujin hasn't taken over the world...I'm sure of it."
Doujin
25-05-2004, 15:34
The large device was airlifted by craft towards the site where Doujin will be drilling. It was a large, 100,000 ton drilling machine, utilizing high power lasers and diamond drill bits to be able to cut through rock faster than any other modern machine. As the machine went down, "pipes" behind it were set up allowing the rescue operators to set up an elevator that would go down and bring the civilians to the surface.

Commanders Tent
"Sir, we have activity. Gaia Rodina has sent several squads of men to do god knows what."

"This could complicate things for the Feazanthians. Tell Gaia Rodina to dispatch. If they do not, then warn them that they better get out 20 kilometers away from any Doujin forces, or they will be fired upon. Gaia Rodina is seen as a hostile nation, and will be treated as such if they get near our forces."

"Aye, sir."

"Get birds in the air, I want them circling over Gaia Rodina's forces until they get the hell out of here."

"Understood, sir."

"Comrade Captain! Message from Doujini forces!"
"Doujini? Here? Damnitall. Raise their base commander. Give me a channel."

A small HUD appeared on the captain's faceplate.
"Attention Doujini forces. Ve are unarmed desolation teams, specifically trained to operate in heawily irradiate areas. Ve are assigned to extract Feazanthian civilians in the area. Ve are villing to vork vith you on this mission, but stand down your forces. Two more teams are en-route. Please respond."

Meanwhile, back in New Moscow.

"Comrade Premier, vord from the Desolation squad. They've run into Doujini forces already set up around the Feazanthian city. The Doujinis are telling the to disembark."
"Send vord to Emperor Miller. Those men are only lightly armed. They aren't soldiers, they're engineers. If the ciwilians are right, they may need our help."

Several large VTOL troop transport planes flew in, carrying a total of 200 infantry units in their heavy NBC gear. Their orders - to dispatch the Gaia Rodina forces, post haste. They were given their warning, and they will be removed if they do not heed it.

The escort planes armed their missile systems, and proceeded to head off the incoming Gaia Rodinan aircraft. They will be given three warnings to remove themselves, or they will be forcibly removed.

"Sir, we are receiving a response from the Gaia Rodina forces."

"Let's hear it, soldier."

Office of the Emperor
"Minister, we are receiving a transmission from Gaia Rodina. It's about our forces conducting the rescue operation in Feazanthia."

"Interesting. What does this message say, John?"

"It says their forces are lightly armed, and that they aren't soldiers. It claims that they are engineers trained to operate in heavy irradiated areas, and that they are here to help rescue the Feazanthians."

"Bullshit. Tell them that Doujin doesn't believe that for a minute. Gaia Rodina is a hostile nation towards Doujin, and as such we are a "hostile" nation in return. They must remove their forces from the ruins of Feazanthia before I give the order to have them removed by force."

"Understandable. Thank you, Minister."

"No problem, Johnathon."

"Damnit, Miller! Chechov, open a channel directly to the Doujini base command in Feazanthia."
"Done, Comrade Premier."
"Attention Doujini forces. This is Premier Alexi Romanov of the People's Republic of Gaia Rodina. There are currently thirty engineers en-route to your current position. There are sixty more on board Rodinian transports. I ask you, vhat could ninety men do to your forces? Yes, the men each carry a single AK-47, but that is all. They are in heawy suits, limiting mobility. These suits are raidation proof. Ve request that you allow our men to enter the underground bunker so that your own people are out of danger. Ve understand that Doujin and Gaia Rodina have had their differences in the past, but ve...no, I ask that ve put aside our differences to save these innocent lives. Feazanthia vas, at one time or another, both of our allies."

The four C-5s broke formation to avoid the Doujini fighters, but remained on course. A single squadron of AF-X11 Interceptors was launched for protection. Their weapons were not armed.

Doujin missile systems, and infantry units went to active. The 32 escorting F-109D Super Tempests broke in pursuit of the C-5's, and taretted the planes - lighting up their advanced warning systems to let them know that Doujin was serious.

Anti-Tank weapon systems were brought online in the vehicles at the Doujin base. The vehicles began pursuit at high speeds of the two APC's. They've been warned, one last warning will be transmitted before the APC's will be destroyed.

Satellite Orion
The Satellite Orion intercepted and blocked out the frequencies sent by Gaia Rodina to the Doujin base in Feazanthia. Instead, transmitted were orders to remove Gaia Rodinan forces from the vicinity - to send them packing. A copy of the transmission that was sent by Gaia Rodina was sent with the orders as well, and that Carr was to disregard Gaia Rodina's messages from this point on. From now on, Doujin will only go by actions of Gaia Rodina in Feazanthia - and wether or not they comply.

A man in a new crisp, clean uniform walked down a hall filled with a eire green light. His head held high he knew what was about to be done would be very important. As he came to a iron door he hesitated. He quickly held his breath and opened the door

"Commander Colin, Code Orange news!" The man knew what would come next. He had been forced to learn the protocol since the age of 5. It took a few moments for the great commander to even recognize him. The man couldn't see him very well, as no green lights in the room fell apon him. He had never met this great man, but knew he was Green Moon's greatest hero.

"Code Orange eh? This could be bad. Whats the situation?"

" A nation by the name of..fe..fea.."

"OUT WITH IT!"

"Sir, yes sir! A nation by the name of...Feazanthia... seems to have come under attack. Already rescue teams have been despached. It seems the capital is infused with radiation," suddnly a malicious grin came across the mans face "which means the land is ripe for our picking. We can find some survivors and use them as test subjects for our new reptilian research."

"I don't know," although the man could not see Commander Colin's face he could sense the tension in the air. " what would they have? I've read the reports. They are located underground. It would be a waste of money to drill them out, just for experiments. We have inmates for that. Mind you the Pope wouldn't like this. We are not bloodthirsty pagans like the other nations. No, I have a better idea. We will send a rescue team. But instead of just our finest workers, send our finest monks. We will covert them and bring them into the Holy Catholic Church."

"As you command." The man walked away. As he turned to open the door out of the corner of his eye he caught a glimpse of Commander Colin. His eyes went wide as he saw that Green Moon's hero, thier greatest commander, was but a boy! But he couldnt forget his mission. In 24 hours the rescue team would be at the capital.

The captain stroked his gloved hand across his lead-infused titanium helmet.
"Prepare to disembark. Ve vill leave the APCs here and continue on foot. Leave your veapons here. Only I shall carry mine."

The APCs halted, and the thirty men disembarked. They went on foot, jogging along the frozen, glassy sand.

A single C-5 broke off, heading back for Gaia Rodina. The remaining C-5 stubbornly continued on. The Inteceptors weapons remained inactive and their speed remained unchanged.

"Fire. They have been warned."

The misisles lit up, and 20 missiles headed out towards the 3 remaining C-5's. 12 F-109D's, armed with anti-surface missiles, broke off in search of the 'Desolators', to keep track of them and to destroy the APC in which they were using.

FPS is horrified by the actions of the nation of Doujin, and considers it an unfounded declaration of war on Gaia Rdonia. FPS further says that it is not Doujin territory to be staking out or protecting, and they should be accepting help, not killing innocent engineers.

Additionally, FPS is currently curious about the true nature of Doujin troops. Why would a group of humanitarian aid workers be protected by fighter aircraft? And why all the 'me or nothing else' actions? Is it possible that Doujin plans to kill or injure all those they find in the bunker?

Finally, FPS is announcing that it's closest carrier group, led by the U.S.S. Yorktown will be entering the area in order to provide humanitarean aid. And it WILL provide humanitarian aid, whether the leaders of Doujin, no matter how imperialistic or self centered they are, would like it or not.

OOC: Hardly. The transports were warned, and so was Gaia Rodina. Your forces, wether "humanitarian" or not, are military forces. And as you have stated, they were armed with AK-47s. I warned you several times to remove your forces from the vicinity of Doujin forces, or they will be fired upon. Gaia Rodina has threatened Doujin several times in the past, and as such Gaia Rodina is treated as a hostile nation - as such, their forces getting within range of Doujin forces will be fired upon if they do not heed warnings given.

Free Pacific States, how would you know about this? Considering this is all happening very rapidly..

Free Pacific States, you may conduct whatever operations you wish - however, if your forces get within 20 kilometer range at sea, and 10 kilometers at land of Doujin military forces, they will be fired upon.

Drilling Machine
The drilling machine, working at 3/4ths full power, was just crossing 138 metres, and was slowing down as to allow the tunnel to be dropped into place. Nearly a thousand men were at the Doujin base, all rushing around doing their jobs - trying to get the Feazanthian citizens out safely and to medical facilities.

All men wore their thick NBC uniforms, each with a Doujin Flag emblemed onto the front and back of the suit. The commander looked down the whole, and was amazed at the machine. The machine alone weighed over a hundred thousand tons, not to mention the power equipment that needed to be brought over to power it. It was made exactly for operations like this, to drig deep and rescue miners and other civilians or workers trapped down underground.

The sky was dark, the ground was scorched - all plantlife was dead. It was a barren wasteland, and yet life still sustained. A few bugs could be seen running along the ground as the Doujin troops walked. The sky was dark, the sun was nowhere to be seen. The nuclear blasts affected the weather in the region, making it very cloudy and dark during most parts of the day.

Rear Admiral Patton was watching on and barking out orders to the men under his command, as a trio of soldiers "ran" up to him and beckoned for his attention.

"Sir, we have troops heading towards the base. They look like Gaia Rodina's "Desolators"."

"Very well, allow them to enter. I will meet them personally before I have them escorted out of Feazanthia. This is just another attempt by Gaia Rodina to spy and further try to humiliate Doujin to the world, and I will not stand for it."

"Aye, sir. They look kinda freaky in those suits."

"Well, maybe we should make them take it off?.." piped in another soldier.

Patton looked at that soldier, and pushed him on his ass. Obviously infuriated, he pulled out his gun and looked at him.

"Soldier, if I ever hear something that inhumane and immoral out of your mouth again, God help me I will shoot you straight through your eyes."

Patton was an immigrant from Gaia Rodina, and while holding his service in Doujin and his new nation with utmost, he hated anyone who would be willing to go so far as to inhumanely kill a human being. He disagreed with what Gaia Rodina was doing now, attempting to literally humiliate Doujin to the world at large. Well, as long as he had his commission, it wouldn't work.

He walked up to Captain Gredenko, and shook his hand.

"Hello, Captain Gredenko. My name is Rear Admiral Patton. I'm sorry to say that your services are not needed. You cannot operate the machinery used by our forces right now, and we have a reasonable idea on the location of the Feazanthian "bunker" - or whatever it is."

"We will be escorting you out of this region, and back to the homeland - I'm sorry, Zampolit."

Everything was going smoothely, until all of a sudden a power surge fried the main circuit boards that transfered power between the power generators and the drilling machine. There was a small explosion, and 3 men were caught in the blast.. killing them instantly.

As the flames danced in the sky, workers rushed to put out the fire. Fire-retardant was pumped out over the flames and the equipment to keep the sacred element of fire from spreading. New equipment was being ready to be rolled into place as to keep progress going forward, and in the distance you could see helicopters flying in more tunneling.

OOC: Heh, sry, I thought only the ground guys had guns, not the air guys. In that case, I'm retracting my earlier statement. "Captain Gredenko, we will be taking the citizens to a military hospital in Doujin. There should not and would not be high radiation levels at 500 meters below the surface, in what is obviously some sort of shelter. Doujin and Feazanthia were never at war. We have all the supplies we need, and the equipment being utilized here is classified equipment - meaning you are not allowed any farther in the base."

Patton looked behind him at the power units, and saw that the replacement procedure was just being finished up. He smiled, looked up into the night sky through his NBC suit, and sighed. He had been to Feazanthia many times, and considered it a beautiful nation. It is tragic it had to end like this.

"Zampolit, I am sorry but I must have you escorted out of here. You will be taken back to Gaia Rodina shortly."

He turned around and walked towards the command shelter, and whispered something into a radio. Suddenly, 4 APCs, and a couple large trucks started heading towards the 'Desolators'. Dozens of armed soldiers headed out towards the 'Desolators', and ordered them in the trucks. They were to be put in a VTOL aircraft (or a couple, how many are there exactly?), and flown back to Gaia Rodina - or wherever they came from.

After a short conference with the Prime Minister, Patton walked over to the drill site and looked down the hole. It was deep.. light shined all the way down to the machine, which could barely be seen at it's depth. It wouldn't be long before the machine reached the "shelter" underground, where Doujin would rescue the Feazanthian citizens.

Current Depth: 391.86 meters

OOC: Feaz, the transports were warned to go away. You decided to have them press on in the RP, and that is your fault. Remember, hundreds of Doujinshi Corporation vorkers valked off their jobs in response to the Doujin inwasion. Also, in regards to the radiation, it has been over a decade since the attack, and many missiles hit in this location. It is likely that their protection has been compromised. OOC-30 of them. There were supposed to be more, but you killed them.

"Unacceptable. This is an outrage! First you kill our people, then you deny us to help innocent ciwilians? These people most likely have relatiwes in the People's Republic, and they vill not take to kindly to being taken to a military hospital in a nation that they consider an enemy. Remember, hundreds of Doujinshi Corporation vorkers valked off their jobs in response to the Doujin inwasion. Also, in regards to the radiation, it has been over a decade since the attack, and many missiles hit in this location. It is likely that their protection has been compromised. Did you ewen listen to the transmission?"

Several Desolators unstrapped their drills and stuck them in the ground. They were about to activate them when Gredenko waved them off.
"Though ve have had our differences in the past, ve are not your enemies. Ve vant these people rescued with utmost speed."

20 Miles South of the Feazanthian Border--0945 hours

Two squadrons of Five Civilized Nations F-49F Rapier interceptors slowly cruised through the morning sky, keeping steady at a cruising speed of 700 kilometers per hour. Amidst the array of fighters were a trio of converted 7E7-500 aircraft, carrying a company of Five Civilized Nations's Rapid Airborne Deployment Force, with radiation equipment and suits.

The transports had orders from the government of the Five Civilized Nations to investigate the destruction wrecked upon the nation of Feazanthia and discover the intentions of the nation of Doujin. In addition, they were also ordered to investigate the supposed aggression by Doujin against other nations...

Slowly, the twenty-seven aircraft approached the Feazanthian border. With a sharp command, a trio of Rapiers peeled off from the main contingent and flew ahead, scouting out terrain for the paratroopers to land...

INTERLUDE

In the darkness of the caverns, the Blind One hunted. It had sensed the meat that descended recently into it's hidden lair, deep beneath the bedrock of the planet. The creature was old, older than the now-destroyed city above it...and it hungered.

It could sense the lifeblood of the meat around him, and the beast came fully awake for the first time in a millenia. It did not like being wakened, and with a wall-shaking growl, it left the nest where it had slept for many years.

The Blind One was hungry, but even worse...it was angry.

The Desolators were rounded up and placed in the trucks forcibly, and their leader was put in magnetic cuffs and put in a special vehicle. The vehicles headed twoards the awaiting VTOL aircraft, and they were forcibly put on the craft. The craft took off with an armed escort towards Gaia Rodina.

Ramoray heard the drilling several hundred meters away.
"They're...they're coming."
He pulled out an old Desert Eagle pistol.
"Honey...what are you doing?"
"We don't know who they are. It may not be our allies who got the message."
"You mean...you mean it could be..."
"Yes. It could be them," he said with a strong sense of distaste. "Get the others, tell them to head towards the inner shelter. Have the first hunting team meet me near the barrier to sector three."

Ramoray's wife took off, limping ever so slightly. Drake just hoped that, should they turn out to be the enemy, the rats were hungry today.

OOC-You understand, Feazanthians hate Doujin. You may not have considered it a 'war', but they sure did. Remember the massive walkoffs?

OOC: Considering the actions barely lasted over a couple days, how could they consider it a war.. hmm? And you can do what you want, kill off the people remaining inside - because that's what exactly will happen. If they fire, they will be destroyed with a Napalm incendiary weapon. Furthermore, they have no reason to believe that it would be us, and with that - they are lucky to be alive now. Preparing to fight in their condition, as you claimed with radiation poisoning.. quit foolish, insane, and would be the least likely thing to happen - seeing as they should be worn out.

"Sir, we've hit concrete and metal!"

Admiral Patton looked around, and motioned for men to come in. Patton walked over to the team that would go first, and made sure their cam systems were on. The team, carrying medical equipment and blankets, prepared to enter the shaft. As the machine lit up it's lasers and cut a whole into the shelter, the elevator that is to be used was being prepared to put into the tunnel.

With a crash, the machine cut out a piece of the shelter, and began a rapid ascent to the surface. 40 minutes later, the machine surfaced and ropes of Aluminum-Titanium were attached to it, and two helicopters lifted the machine out of the whole.

The elevator machine was lifted in, and secured down. The team of 20 was loaded into the machine, and it started it slow, long descent to the underground shelter.

A single AF-S12 Peregrine flew above the scorched earth that was Feazanthia. Its low profile kept it hidden from Doujini radar while it conducted surveys of the surrounding area. Its pilot had discovered something...unusual.

"Command, this is Red One. Come in, Command."
"Red One, this is Command. Vat is your status? Ower."
"Conducting surwey of Feazanthian territory. Reporting in."
"Go ahead."
"Possible target increase. Reading reduced radiation lewels in seweral spots, mimicks those of Feazanthia City bunker. Please adwise."
"Communication has been lost vith Desolator teams on ground. New Moscow suspects the radiation is to blame. Contact Doujini command on the surface. Relay information and inform them to contact our teams. They are to proceed to sector 2-4-3 and begin operation to ascertain existence of bunker. Ower."
"Vilco, Command. Red One, out."

Red One dropped to subsonic speeds and opened a channel to Doujini command in Feazanthia.
"Attention Doujini Command. This is Red One. Come in Doujini command. Wital information concerning Feazanthian ciwilians. Come in Doujini Command, this is Red One..."

OOC-Just thought it needed a bit of...spicing up. Y'know, that's perfectly plausable. The worms around Chernobyl are massive due to the radiation. It's plausible that the same would happen to...higher...lifeforms. Such as rats. *hinthint*

"Confirmed Doujini Command. Complying, but I have wital information. It appears there are more bunkers spread out across Feazanthia. My gowernment requests that you send our teams to the first site, as designated on the data I am about to send you. Ve are hawing trouble communicating with them. We suspect it is the radiation. As you are hawing no trouble, my gowernment requests that you send these orders to the three Desolation teams on the surface. Thank you. Red One, out."

The pilot sent a topographic map of the Feazanthian main island and the surrounding island chain, showing the approximate locations of the eleven other bunkers. He designated which ones the Rodinan government wanted their Desolator squads to excavate. Obviously, no one knew of their fate yet.

In response the the recent actions taken by the nations of Gaia Rodina and Doujin to 'save' the trapped civilians under the once-nation of Feazanthia, I am sending in massive drilling equipment and health supplies to aid in the salvation of the trapped Feazanthian people. The reasons for me doing this is because, after intense watching of the situation, I believe the process of saving the people has slowed down too far.

My rescue supplies and equipment will be escorted by a small portion of the Dancing Moose Navy. My government has declared this as an international affair and it is going to be dealt with accordingly.

The Blind One hunted, smelling the spice and tang of the assorted meat around it. It sensed the heat-signatures of various lifeforms, and settled on the ones making the infernal noise that woke it. It had no concept for the word "drill", but it knew that less than 12 body lengths away, a meat-blood meal awaited. The Blind One slowly unfurled its massive bulk, and moved towards the sounds of disruption, trailing a long line of mucous behind it. It retracted its foot-long fangs, acidic poison dripping from the chipped incisors. It clenched and unclenched its foreclaws, and began to dig. Hunger pangs wracked its body, but shortly, they would be satiated.

<<OOC - A radiated world with a slumbering, mutated creature that craves hot flesh...sounds realistic to me! But for the sake of realism...>>

The Blind One was approaching the spot where the heat was highest. It hungered, and when it hungered, it's primitive mind floated in different directions. It could not comprehend the images it was seeing, but it knew it had to do with its past.

Though it had no words to describe it, it saw scenes of laboratries, men in white suits, bubbling beakers and green light. It knew that it was once different, and the man-meat in white were the cause of its current state. It was result of genetic experimentation, designed to be a natural predator. It had been created to scour the sewers of the planet in search of the vermin that infested the world...it was to be the ultimate rat-exterminator.

Yet, once unleashed into the bowels of the planet, the Blind One chose independance, and never returned to its masters. It would have been content to doze as the world carried on around it, but the infernal noise from above had awoken it, and its anger. Now, the men in white, and all the other blood-meat, would pay for their crimes.

The Blind One waited for the men to come.
