After years of studies the Republican Federation of Army Scientists (RFAS)
has come up with a new Weapon of Mass Efficency.
The E-Bomb....
It's a high powered EMP which blacks out a city the size of New York in less than 1 minute.

An Electro charge explodes high above the city and then a BIG EMP blacks the city out.

It can be transported by a rocket or delivered by a high altitude bomber...

The only way to make such an effect occur is to detonate a several megaton nuclear warhead at a rather high altitude over a city. No point in doing that, really, if you are going to use a nuke.

This is a solution to that... Instead of n00king someone you can black out them using a stand-alone EMP. It's clean, cheap and a win-win.

You dont get it. You have to use a nuclear device to get the effect, there is nothing else you can do unless you specifically bomb power plants with graphite bombs, which preserves infrastructure yet only can hurt city power, no military vehicles affected whatsoever.

Very far from cheap the US is pouring alot of money into 'attempting' a stand alone EMP. As yet they've had limited success and there is still a rather large explosion to contend with.

Well, you can generate EMP pulses without detonating a nuclear warhead. Many military figures and politicians are worried about terrorists making an electromangetic pulse bomb out of a couple hundred dollars worth of supplies.. it is that cheap.

My apologies SD I apear to be corrected. Hopefully this isn't going to be used in any RPs I'm involved in for the next little while as I apear to be woefully misinformed.

A very powerful discharge that disipates rapidly would work too though. It would be extremely costly though, not to mention how difficult it would build one or even design it
