The television droned on in the background as Randy read his morning paper. "Thank you, Jennifer. That was Jennifer Kallens reporting live from Congress..."

He sipped his coffee and read the next headline. "Ponte Vedra Allies with BSG"! What the hell? he thought. He read on into the paper, obviously with his job now affected by this alliance. He might have to switch homeports! Allies...against communism and oppressive liberals...threats from several small nations?...military being put on higher alert? He cursed to himself and put down the paper.

"Honey, I'm going to have to leave early. I'm going to have to find out what's going on this morning. I'll give you a call at lunch." He kissed his wife and children as he walked out to his pickup. The military provided on-base housing and transportation for officers, but the quality of the housing was for enlisted men so Colonel Randy Marchman went off base. The result was a twenty-minute drive through traffic to get to his office.

He rushed in without even stopping to talk with the receptionists and went straight to the J-3's office. "General. What's goin' on?" he inquired.

The older yet fit man sitting behind the desk looked up, obviously being disturbed by his abrupt entrance. "Ohh! Good! I'm glad you came in. Ready your supplies and have your men prepare for over-seas expedition. We are going to war."

It was a rushing scene, nothing typically strange that morning. This was being expected for some time, preparing for war. The President sat in his chair reviewing his notes from the morning briefing when he looked up, "Greg! Get in here!"

The Secretary of Defense (SecDef), stopped at the door and turned around. "How much did you say this would cost?"

"Uhh," the older gentlemen hesitated for a bit, "Ballpark figures?"

"Yeah, give 'em to me," President Pierce demanded.

"I'd say at least 500 billion. We are beginning to ready our expeditionary force today!" SecDef had been in the department for years, at least in the industry. He was originally a contractor for the government and an engineer for the Navy. As a result, the government spent most of its money on good, relatively expensive equipment that was built to last under many different war styles and terrains. "Yeah, we can hump it. The budget allows for it certainly...."

"All right. That's all I wanted to know. Have you gone over a battle plan yet with the Joint Chiefs?"

"Yep, went late last night, and we're going right now with the divisionals. Now we get to do the serious planning. I'll let you know how it works out. Have a good one." He left.

That was that, now Ponte Vedra was fixed in a planned war with a new ally.

President Slobo Krzystwski and any others whom wish to invade Iuthia's ally Camewot,

We would like to give you opportunity to stop this madness before an incident is started, which Iuthia will have to protect our allies in Camewot. Currently we are unaware of any specific threat made against your nations, and any message that could have been interpreted as a threat has been withdrawn by the nation of Camewot.

This is the threat I presume you are refering too:

"From now on today our goal will be to kill al Fascists.
We hereby call our allys to fight with us - if you want - and destroy these scums of the earth!"

However, if you followed the entire thread as well as comments made by Iuthia and others you will note that due to international pressure Camewot has withdrawn this comment, which doesn't specify any actual nation, and has instead replaced it with a warning against nation whom commit Genocide and other crimes against humanity.

This change in stance is acceptable in our view and clearly shows that Camewot is prepared to leave "fascist" nations be providing they don't do anything terrible, like kill all the jews in their nation. Many nations, large nations I may add, follow this stance.

Basically, unless you have proof of specific threat made against your nation by Camewot, Iuthia and Camewots various allies will assist in their defence should anyone invade because of "threats" that haven't been made.

We are willing to start relations with your nation should you still be vexed but we cannot see the reason for war. Camewot has quite rightly backed off, showing they are not a rouge nation. Can you do the same?

Any mobilisations made towards invading our ally will be responded to in kind.

OOC: A bit of advice people, I can't think of any nations in the world that refer to themselves as "Fascist" it's a word used against people, governments and nations and is a negative word.

While a nation may be viewed as fascist the leaders of that nation are more likely to refer to it as Dictatorship or Monarchy or something else, making it sound reasonable to the people even if it isn't.

Hitler didn't call himself a "fascist" and few people ever refer to themselves that way...

Best form of defence is attack. The Tyrant of Jeem would be more than happy to lend you the assistance of two armoured brigades, three mechanised Infantry brigades, 4 squadrons of bombers and 4 squadrons of fighters. Our troops need some practical experience in the art of war.

I also beleive that other nations from my region will also assist if you are attacked.

I never said I was gonna attack immidiaetly, I said as the nation grows more soldiers would go in Group 2 and if they are strong enough they would attack Fascists who commit crimes in their nation.

As it stands Iuthia currently has a small number of forces within Camewot assisting them against terrorist violence aimed at their people. In the interest of protecting an ally from unwarrented aggression Iuthia is prepared to deploy further forces should nations show signs of attacking our allies.

We are aware that Camewot made generalised comments regarding fascist nations, however we have yet to see any threat made against any specific nations, nor have we seen any action taken by Camewot accept to stop the terrorism in his own nation.

Many of the comments they are making are down to the terrorism they are facing, but personally we can't see any point to starting a war over nothing more then a comment. Camewot has backed down and many nations have accepted this and left them to it... should any nation attack Camewot with no reason other then these comments it will be clear they, not Camewot, are the rouge nation.

Learn some diplomacy and sense, the nations who offer you support seem to be putting little effort into arguing the case, they are young nations without a powerbase... Camewot has allies, should Camewot do something aggressive his allies won't protect him and you can have your war... but if he stays clean he will have several large nations trying to keep them safe.

If you attack with little reason, nations will have a reason to support Camewot. They don't like pointless wars.

Technocracia will defend Camewot with our trusted allies from the threat of a fascist attack. It is as simple as this: Put a leash on that kid, or someone else will for you. Understand? A nation as small as him coming out of a war has no right to go around and poke other people...which is what he is doing.

He has no right to criticize other nations' governments either! For a nation that has just popped up and already recieves threats is proposterous. Get a hold of yourselves.

Swedish Dominions is the most alarming of the anti-fascist nations. Despite the fact we have done nothing, he threatens our way of life.

We must solve this with words. However, if he will not back down, I must ask all nations that pledge arms to defend fascism and BSG to be ready to fight.

Ponte Vedra, it's quite simple really. If Camewot ever acts against you or your allies without provokation then Iuthia will not support nor defend Camewot as we wouldn't be obligued to.

However, seeing as they haven't acted against you or your allies they are still subject to our agreed mutual protection and as such any actions taken against them will be responded to harshly.

They haven't specifically threatened you or your allies and they have even withdrawn their orginal comments regarding "Fascists". However it's up to them to apologise and personally I can't see a point.

If you attack my ally because they haven't apologised for something they haven't done then we will make a point of showing you the error of your discision. We are not against a "fascist" nation's soverign right to rule their people as they will, but we are against warmongering prats such as your allies.

You make out that their at their size they shouldn't be making comments about others... yet they changed their view when international pressure prooved too much.

I've been around since April 16th, 2003. Check my pop if you don't believe me. And no, I'm another nation that you probably recognize. This is my alternate-world player. I do realise defense is much easier than attack. However, I also realise that every battle line has its weakness to be exploited.

Do you also realise that logistically invasions are a nightmare due to the limited amount of men and equippement that can be sent over sea? Do you also realise that Camewot isn't just allied to myself, but is actually allied to the entire RBA and others... now personally I don't like being involved in the RBA but I'm sure that if Camewot is attack without a damn good reason he will scream and shout and he'll probably get assistance from nations my own size, if not bigger who don't have limits on what they will send... personally I try to be friendly and calm but I know most of the RBA will go to war over anything...

Trust me, it's not in your interest to waste time on a dumb war against Camewot... if he does something against you then be my guest, I'm not defending him if he attacks people.... but he hasn't so I have to because of an alliance.
