TBDNN Special Report: War!
Today, sailors on the RSS Peace, a diplomatic envoy escort, witnessed a horrible scene of carnage and destruction.
"At a nearby dock, a dock-worker shouted something to another dock, one that was empty, except a few crates. They had been in Hamanistan for a short while and had acquired jobs at the port for this specific reason.
One dockhand heard the shout and nodded to himself... He was on a dock adjacent to the one the diplomats were one, he spun around to face them and quickly brought up an AKS-74U with a collapsible stock... He put the bead on the Hamanistan envoy and opened fire...
Just as the gunfire erupted, another half dozen dockhands came into view. One grabbed a stashed RPG-7V that was hidden in a thicket of crates. Its reticles lined up on the Hamanistan SUVs, he fired the lone rocket inside.
Two more men pulled up AK-47s, both with collapsible stocks and opened fire on the police officers...
The last three men each had a Heckler and Koch G-3 assault rifle, they opened fire on the TBD diplomat, spraying gunfire in his direction.
And as all hell broke loose, two more dockhands appeared from the deck of a freighter they were loading, each had an RPG-7V, one fired at the Hamanistan SUVs, the other fired at the police on their motorcycles..."

Campbell: And he knows what he is doing, I hope...
Cassandra: Yes, I told him to gather all the information we can get on this conflict and archive them...I informed the Journalism Depo...They will sort some of the intel and put it on the evening news...Anys...I won't be gone that long....

Not only will you have to fight the past the entrance islands to get in, but you will be surrounded by my allie of ANL(Aztec National Leage) so you would be surrounded and your losses would be catostrophic(sp?). I have sent a telgram to TBD telling him where they are in the first place. I would also like to say that if you send troop or foreign vessel of your nation friendly or foe, you will have nuclear weapons launched at you.
OCC: After thinking about this drilling bomb, its not undetectable, b/c extra sensative sizemic(sp?) moniters could pick up the vibrations. Second of all, what propels this bomb. It cant be a rocket b/c the fire would need air, and the dirt and what not would put out any fire. Second it cant be long range, b/c that would make it to big and what not and it would have to carry lots of fuel. This bomb is unfeasable and I will ignore it until you tell us basic operation.

Prime Minister Frank Casagrande sat in his office. He had a cigar in his hand. He was reading a report on the crisis between IDF and Communist Louisiana. He got up and began to pace back and forth. After a few minutes he stopped. He reached for the phone. It was time to take action. He pressed a button on the phone.
"Yes Prime Minister?" said a his secretary.
"Please get me General Carletti."
"Yessir," responded the woman's voice.
A few seconds later a man's voice came across the line. "Yes Prime Minister, you wanted to speak to me?"
"General, you are aware of the worsening crisis involving Communist Louisiana?"
"Of course sir, what about it?"
"I have decided we must take action to assist our ally. I want you to begin preparation for possible war. Hopefully, the situation will resolve itself peacefully, however, the outlook is grim."
"I will get to work immediately. I'll contact the Joint Chiefs of Staff and set up a meeting. As soon as we are ready we will give you a briefing."
"Thank-you general," said prime Minister Casagrande.
"Of course sir," replied the general, and then, he hung up.
Prime Minister casagrande sat down in his chair. He had arrived at his decision. That night he would go to address the nation of the current situation. He hoped the carnage this war would cause could be avoided. However, as he looked at the report in his hands he couldn't bring himself to believe the war could be avoided. Ever since his days in the military, he had hated the idea of war. he had seen what it did. However, he knew that he could not leave his ally without help. Communist Louisiana would be able to count on Resistencia to help it throught its troubled times. he picked up the phone. He told his secretary to wire him CL's prime Minister. It was time to get down to business.

From: -Noir- International Relations Dept.
We have been monitoring this ongoing conflict for some time now. After careful deliberation (and a prodigious amount of persuasion by an individual by the name of Cassandra Alexandra, an officer in the UMN 5th Division) we have deemed that your war is a just war, and we wish to pledge our support to your cause. We, however, do not wish to be dragged into this conflict full force. We will send whatever resources you need, but only enough so that we will not be forced into the conflict. Our borders will also be open to provide a place for refugees and other NPCs.

aboard Flagship USS Yorktown
"Sir, FLASH traffic from the CNO," said the Yeoman to the Admiral
"Send it through,” ordered Admiral Jackson.
“Here it is,” said the yeoman as the admiral read the encoded document.
Operations for blockaded the Gulf of Mexico are to be started. SOSUS will help us here and I want you to put the subs in position (the blockade is from Florida to Cuba and Cuba to the Yucatan) We are now ordering 15 new Galaxys and 25 more Upholders we are now leasing. The Upholders were designed to hold the SOSUS line so make use of them. You have a smaller line to hold here so you are in luck.
We are also sending 750 of the new Armed Predator UAVs. They are armed with 8 Hellfire missiles each. They are capable of 4 Zuni rocket pods if you need them. The UAVs can allow us to fire missiles without turning on radars (meaning manual or waypoint control) The UAVs can also allow you to do some damage or at least scar the hull enough to create a large RCS. Remember, WMD use is only for a certain defeat. I recommend coordinating strikes with IAF. The goal is to not let them land their troops. You have authority to shoot down cargo planes. Patriots are preffered or SAM ships.
Good luck
Fleet Admiral Hiroshi, CNO IDF Fleet.
Jackson went up to the bridge and keyed up radios with the large fleet.
“Gentleman, we are now in War Condition 7, conventional only. If it is hostile, merchant or combat, fire on it. That goes for air to.”
The Admiral got off the mic as the CO of the Yorktown started ordering the ship the battlestations. The Admiral was going over maps, the large blockade force should hold he thought as the ships Gong rang with the GQ call.

Captain Johnaisz Cruise surveyed the bridge of the RSS Foxxer. He had been in command of this ship for twenty years, and made it a point to know every man on it by name. His policy was, "What they don't hear can't hurt 'em." A new sonar ensign thought that meant to shut up on the ship, but he was sadly mistaken. A new ensign slept in the torpedo tube that night, the Captian saying, "Your name is Hanson. Your name is Hanson. Your name is Hanson. Your name...." It actually referred to that he never was to be called Captain, only Cap' or Johna.
"All men to battle stati-ons!" yelled Captain Cruise. Instantaniously, the eighteen men in the control room ran to their seats.
"Gaoana," he said to the nav ensign, "how far are we from the nearest bad-like ping?"
"Four-Hundred Eighty-seven klicks and closing, Joahna," he said. The captain liked exactness.
"Very good. And from the Communist border?"
"Six-hundred one klicks and- make that six-hundred klicks and closing."
"Ready battlestations!" yelled the captain.
The crew called off.
"Sonar one, set!"

"Sir, MAD contact at bearing 135, it's big one. Classify possible submarine," said the SONAR operator.
"This is Seahawk 18," responded the pilot of an SH-60 LAMPS III ASW chopper. "Our SONAR chief is working a MAD contact in the same area, I say he is a probable sub. I think he's the same target, we have a length on this target over 350 feet."
"I have him too," chimed in Seahawk 23. "We are now going in with dipping sonar."
10 minutes later
"Sir, we have steam noises, classify MAD 1 as a positive submarine contact," said Seahawk 23.
"Copy that," siad the ASW screen leader. "We are weapons free, no allied subs in are."
"Roger."
Seahawk 23 dropped a pair on mk-46 fish on the target at a range of 5k yards. They were on the east side of the subThey went passive until 2,000 yards at which point they went active and spun up to 72 knots.
Seahawk 18 had a bad launch on a fish and as a result they had only 1 fish dropped at a range of 6,500 yards on the west side.
The Orion dropped 2 Mk-50s from the NOrth at 7,000 and 3,500 yards, the torps went active at 2,000 and spun up to full speed.
The Orion dropped one more torpedo on the SW side at 5,500 yards

Resistencia Begins Troop Movement
Resistencia National News --- May 26
Today, Resistencia began moving troops to help support their ally Communist Louisiana. A large force of troops boarded transport aircraft at several major airbases in Resistencia. The medium sized force is made up solely of infantry and special personel. This force is going to be sent to provide some assistance to CL forces in case the war breaks out.
A much larger force is being loaded onto troop transport ships at several major ports in Resistencia. This force will be going with a large naval task force. This force has its work cut out, as it will have to battle through a naval blockade to get to CL's coast. However, this does not frighten the naval commanders. "We are ready for a conflict," said Admiral Yuri Federov from on board his flagship, the RSS Righteous Wind, "Our forces are ready for whatever the enemy has to offer, we are will accomplish our mission." Hopefully, this confident attitude is present in all of our nation's forces and when it comes down to it, they will see their mission to the end.
As the conflict begins to unfold, several nations are preparing for war. It is to be seen how far the war will escalate. It is the hope off all humanity, that it does not spiral out of control and result in Nuclear warfare.

Res, with your permission my seaborne units will join up with yours; I think we stand a better chance with a heavier force.
OOC: The US Navy DID do experimentation with caterpillars. The problem was, they could never get a decent speed, and the system was prone to wearing out and still made a fair bit of noise, as I recall. Just less than the props OF THE TIME. The time was the '70s.
"I think we have that son of a ***** cornered," commented Captain Willis, the head of fleet ASW operations from his post on the Charled de Gaule carrier USS Jericho.
"Sir, MAD shows aspect change ship is turning and diving deep. He has CMs launched," said the chief SONAR Man.
"Yeah, but with multiple weapons and different bearing launches he can only dodge a few. We have more reactor noises as he is speeding up. Even without his passive sounds our active sonars will get him and home in torps. Be patien," said the ASW head.
"Sir, some of the Northern and Western torps now have active acquisition and are facing his bow, he has no chance of CM there. Time til impact is about 25 seconds," siad the sonar man.

Dakaran address, Premier Zukhov
"Comrades, we will not sit idly by while the people of Communist Louisana are violated by the foreign invaders! The time to act is now! Glory to our comrades! Glory to the Red Army! May the Legions of Dakara shatter the opposition!"
with that speech, the Communist Worker's Republic of Dakara, a long-time ally of CL, pledged to commit armed forces to the conflict.
Secret IC:
TO: CL and Allies
From: Premier Zukhov
We will send troops, btu we need help getting there. if you can swing by dakara during your deployment and pick up as many dakarans as you can, it will be appreciated. there is no way our navy will get through TBD's. We already have 100 c-17's on loan from CL, but they will take time to move our army with. in the airlift we will be able to take 2000 per round trip of the 100 c-17's. We will becoming in from the pacific coast, again taking time. Help move our legions anyway you can.

Admiral Coby DuFour walks into the strategic(sp?) control room aboard the command ship C.L.S. Long
Ms. Lucy- Admiral, we have news of a small conflict in the Gulf. Apparently our allie has fired upon a submarine belonging to the TBD to scare them.
Admiral Coby DuFour- Did they damage the TBD submarine?
Ms. Lucy- No...
Admiral Coby DuFour- Its our turn then. Send a coupple of S-3B Viking submarine hunters to trail them. Give command not to shoot at, let them shoot machine guns around them.
Ms. Lucy- Yes Admiral.
10 minutes later 25 S-3B Viking's were in the air going to search the last reported area where the sub was seen

"Alright folks, time for the maneuver," said the captain. "Let's show those sons of bitc*es how the Burnsian Royal Navy gets it done." Each man knew what it was, and the chances of their survival.
"Reduce speed to 1/3."
"Aye."
"Dive to depth 551 point 56."
"Dive aye."
"Order silence. Kill the engines. Shallow breaths, kiddos."
"Aye."
"Hit the maneuver."
"Sonar aye."
OOC: In case you are wondering, the Maneuver is where the sub goes down to a pretty deep trench, and turns on a device that captures sound waves. TBD scientists worked on the machine. It works by capturing a sonar ping bouncing off walls, and replicating it without the sub. And the hull is covered with rubber to decrease noise.

OOC: "Capturing" something moving at 660+ m/s from several directions? Or are you building a stealth sub now?
IC: A small tail of white water showed on the surface of the rolling sea, as the Victor-IV SSN Khabarovsk prodded her ESM mast above the water.
"ESM, anything up there?" asked Captain First Rank Anton Schindler of his Electronics Officer.
"Two S-3s, bearing zero-three-seven and zero-four-six, strength four. One vessel, type and origin unknown, bearing zero-eight-three, strength one," returned the EO, like he was reading off the foortball scores. "The S-3s have Communist Louisiana radar sigs."
"Very well. Retract ESM mast, set depth three-one-nine metres, ten degrees dive, engines ahead two-thirds, steer course zero-two-seven." Schindler sat down wearily as his commands were rattled off and the Khabarovsk began her dive. He turned to face his Chief Sonarman. "What happened to the sub we were trailing?" The officer turned around, the taut lines of his face given a ghoulish tint by the red lights.
"Don't know, sir. We've still got a very faint contact, sounds like either a ducted prop or caterpillar drive, at bearing zero-four-one, range about...oh, I'd say thirteen thousand five hundred." The officer rubbed his eyes. "Can't say any better than that, I'm afraid."
"How long since you slept?" asked Schindler. The sonarman smiled wryly.
"Too damn long, sir."
"Another hour, replied Schindler, and you get at least six hours' sleep. That's an order."
"Yes sir. Shall I keep tracking the sub?" Schindler sighed.
"Yes, keep tracking him." He addresed the XO, stood by the fire-control system. "How's the solution?"
"Rough, but good enough to shoot down. He's got some decent anti-sonar stuff, but we can still hear him. In any case the bow prop-wash and heat sensors can get him too," replied XO Andrews, quietly and confidently.

OOC : Guys, this is ridiculous.
One nations bringing HUNDREDS of Subs into a small combat area? Subs are meant to operate alone, in small numbers, they're likely to drive into each other.
Magnetic Anomally Detectors are very hit & miss - they can't constantly track someone, they only can detect the odd anomally and then get sonar to focus in on it.
Submarines have rubber tiles coating them (aneohic or something) which absorb most sonar waves - subs get heard because of nukes reactors running hot, or diesel subs moving fast.
I was really enjoying reading this role play, but then you get to things like I'm sending 140 Kilos & 100 SeaWolfs, 15 Carriers etc. Thats crazy.
Also, deploying a SOSUS type line in a week... crazy talk.

not a week for sosus, but rather about 5 NS years here.
I follow russian sub doctrine which is operating subs together, that and German wolfpack ideas.
As for the carriers, it is cramped, but I have enough water for what I need.
I don't have much ground forces due to the navy getting a **** load of money
I know about Aenoic tiles and am not using active right now. Besides the new LFA (low frequency active sonar) can defeat it.
As for MADs, I have alot of planes and helos with them so there is a register all the time.
I am also using a torpedo which is an improvement of the german magnetics ones to incorporate it and get hits with it.

Admiral Federov stood on the deck of his flagship, the RSS Righteous Wind. He looked out at his assembled forces. There were many ships flying the flag of Resistencia, but now they would have company. As the war was beggining to escalate, he had agreed to work with the navy of DontPissUsOff to further strengthen their fleet. He paced the deck anxiously awaiting his ally's force.
Suddenly one of the radar operators shouted to him. "Sir I have a reading, there are a large number of ships approaching." This is what Admiral federov had been waiting for. "Open a communication channel with them. The radio operators began attempting to make contact. Finally, one of them said, "sir we have their commanding officer on the line."
Admiral Federov picked up the reciever. "This is Admiral Yuri Federov aboard the RSS Righteous Wind, I am commander of Resistencia's naval task Force."
About an hour later the ships from DontPissUsOff had reached Resistencia's task force. Admiral Federov looked out at the strength he now had at his disposale, he knew they were ready. The combined Task Force began to sail towards the CL coast knowing they would soon be coming up on the blockade.

The Suvorov nosed through the grey sea. As she did so, her crew brooded like the clouds above them. They sat in stations and cabins, smoking endlessly, gazing out at the sea that might soon swallow them whole, thinking of home and loved ones, and of the duty they must perform in a short while. Surrounded by her allies and fellow ships, the carrier was going to CL.
And somewhere out there, the crewmen knew, were the Burnsian Desert's gleaming, deadly warhips, waiting with bated breath for their opponents to come closer; the carriers and cruisers and destroyers and frigates rolling in the waves, the helicopters and fighters and bombers. And somewhere out there, invisible and unknown, were the submarines, mechanical sharks, bringers of death. Somewhere there were the missile subs, each one carrying the death of millions in the great silent obelisks of their rockets.
A sense of doom enveloped the men as they reflected that the next few hours and days might be their last. They watched the sea rolling by, knowing it was merely the calm before the storm.

They were trained, prepared, and had a copy of their respecitve Book in their pocket. Before they went into battle, they would scream for their victory.
Up in the bridge...
Captain Kuzkov surveyed the soldiers below on deck.
"They're ready," he said.
"I know they're ready, sir, we just had confirmation from CentCom to go ahead. They said not to fire on CL forces unless they fired on us, just IDF forces," said the comm officer.
"How many other ships are there out there?"
"Too many."
"Good."

The Premier made this following press release.
"The situation in the Carribean and the Gulf is quite alarming. Also, any situation that threatens our ally of Communist Louisiana also alarms us. Anything that brings a threat to our system alarms us. We do not wish for war and we want to avoid it, but, with the war so close to our borders, against our allies and against our system, this war is something we can not simply ignore. I will not lead this great nation into war unless if no other alternative works, but I will say this. As voted on my recomendation, the Soviet Congress has ratified the Lend-Lease Act. This act gives me the power to give as much military assistance in the form of lending ships, planes and ground vehicles to our allies. Also, the Soviet Congress has ratified a bill that protects Communist Louisiana's ships that are located within 25 miles of our coast. In addition, Communist Louisiana and the allies of CL are allowed into the ANL borders and are given protection by the militiary of our nation. Again, I will not full on lead us into war, but I will help my allies if help is required. Any diplomatic resolves are welcomed and encouraged."

3rd Naval TF
Standard Anti-surface submarine Group (4)
10 Akula-III SSN
4 Sierra-III SSN
10 Oscar-II SSGN
Comments: These forces receive detailed and specific orders. The groups are intended to split into pairs and hunt in a given "sector", communicating by sonar telephone only where necessary. These are the main "hunting" arms of any DPUO Naval Task force.
Standard SAG: (2)
2 Kirov-class CGN
1 Kiev-class helicopter & V/STOL carrier
8 Sovremmennyy-class CG
4 Udaloy-II-class CG
4 Neustrashimiy-class FF
6 Supply vessels
Comments: Intended to provide long-range ASuW support to the submarine forces of the Navy. Very heavily armed. Highly flexible formation.
Standard CVBG: (2)
2 Kuznetsov/Orel-class CVN
1 Moskva-II CVH (claos useable by Yak-141M)
1 Kirov-class CGN
5 Sovremmennyy-class CG
3 Udaloy-class CG
4 Neustrashimiy-class FF
10 supply vessels
Comments: A longer-reaching development on the Standard SAG, the Standard CVBG packs less firepower on board ships, relying on its' aircraft. It retains a secondary cruise missile ASuW capability with its' cruise missile ships.
SSBN group: (1)
6 Akula-II SSN
2 Oscra-II SSGN
3 Delta-IV/Typhoon SSBN

Tomorrow we will reach the blockade. The first thing we will do is ask for them to allow us through peacefully. If they do, then we go on to CL and proceed from there. If they do not let us through, then we will fight our way through. I believe that we hold the advantage numerically, in training, and in command. However, the battle will not be easy. We will all be depending heavily on your forces to do their job. I am sure your men will come through when the time comes and help us achieve victory. Admiral Federov looked out over the sea. His fleet was approaching the blockade. He looked up at the stormy sky. The winds had been picking up recently. The admiral buttoned his jacket and then turned to go onto the bridge.
As he entered the bridge he surveyed his men at work. Soon, they would be engaged in battle. He approached his first mate, Gerard Kaufman. "What do you think?" asked the Admiral.
"I think we are ready," replied the first mate, "All ships have reported in and we are fully operational, should I order the men to man their stations?"
"Yes, I want everyone ready in case this situation turns out for the worse. Order all men to battlestations."
"Yessir!" replied the first mate and he went off. The admiral went to his radio operators. "Send a message to the commander of the opposing navy. Demand that they let us through, tell them that if they do, we go through peacefully and nobody is hurt. Tell him we will give him four hours to reach his decision if he needs time to ponder the matter."
"Yessir!" responded the radio-men. A few moments later the Admrial heard the order, "All hands to battlestation! I repeat, all hands to battlestations! This is not a drill!" Immediately, men began moving towards their posts. The other ships in the fleet began moving tighter into their formations and groups. The moment they had all been waiting for would soon be at hand.

"The first through fifth Submarine Standoff groups are to search and destroy."

"And our fighters?" asked Kuznov, strained for options.

"Send some of our planes to intercept them. I want fighter from the Italy and the Justice sent as interceptors. Then order the Yukon and the Argentina to send their aircraft to target enemy ships in case we are attacked. Then Then, send a transmission to the DPUO forces and tell them to prepare for battle."
"I'm sending the transmissions now sir!"
"Good, also alert our subs to be fully prepared to strike the enemy ships with any force neccesary of a conflict breaks out. I want to hit them with everything we have before they get a chance to do the same to us." The admiral began pacing back and forth on the bridge. Now it was time to see what the BD forces were made of. They had responded immediately after their transmission had been sent. The admiral put a cigarette in his mouth and lit it. He was always this way. Once the battle started he was his calm collected self who never wavered before the enemy. Because once the battle started he knew exactly what was happening. but it was the moments before the battle, the moments of uncertainty that always wrecked his nerves. He heard the roar of fighters passing over head on their way to interceot the enemy forces. The games were about to begin. He had full confidence in his men and and his ships. They had never let him down before. Now it was time for them to come through once again.

"Comrade Admiral. Message from Admiral Federov."
"Oh?" asked Admiral Dmitriy Kuzashkin around the cigar whose tip glowed brightly on the bridge. "Give it here." The young radio operator scrambled to his feet and handed in the message. Kuzashkin read it, gazing with some fear at what he saw. "It begins, comrades." He turned back to the radioman. "Order all ships to action stations. Execute Plan 4, repeat, Plan 4." Next he turned to the XO. "Sound Action stations."
The carrier Kharkovsk was a frenzy of activity as Su-33s loaded with AAMs began to ready for take-off. The shrill shriek of their turbines was matched by those of the fighters on the other three carriers. Two regiments of Su-33s surged rapidly into the air, setting up a three-layer CAP over their ships as the An-71M AWACS joined them. Below, Yak-141Ms loaded with AShMs struggled skywards from the Kiev-class CVH Nyerushimiy and the Moskva-II CVH Romanov.
The gigantic Kirov-class CGs lay waiting. Their AShMs had a range of more than 600Km, and the enemy was a considerable distance off yet. With them waited the destroyers and cruisers and frigates, lurching through the rolling sea, their SSM targetting radars shut down, for they were as yet superflous to the mission. However, their powerful SAM guidance radars lit off, scanning the skies above in tandem with the An-71Ms.
So were the submarines. The Akulas and Sierras, 200Km ahead of the main task force, received the radio commands from the one sub at periscope depth, the Oscar-II SSGN Von Braun. Slowly, they assumed a great zigzagged line, covering many miles of ocean, cruising at six knots at six hundred metres, waiting for their targets. Behind them, the SSGNs waited also. When the shooting started, they would be ready, and would wreak havoc upon their enemies.

"Message sent, Admiral Kuzkov," said the comm officer.
"And they have recieved it?" said Kuzkov.
"I don't know, sir."
"Are the F/A-18s in the air?"
"Ready and waiting," said the flight deck operations manager.
"Open comm link with CentCom."
"Comm aye."
Admiral Kuzkov turned to the large screen in front of him. On it were six dark figures, along with a teenage girl, Queen Rachel Romalia, in a business suit. Upon sight of the Queen, Kuzkov and the rest of the bridge fell to their knees.
"My Queen..."
The girl tossed her hair impatiently.
"Get up! You have a war to fight," said Queen Rachel. She was used to this treatment; in fact, she sometimes enjoyed it. But not now. Now was not appropriate.
"As you wish, my Queen," said the men on the bridge. The rest of the men returned to thier stations while Kuzkov stood in front of the screen.
"Have you launched the aircraft? Are the submarines ready?"
"Yes, my Queen," said Kuzkov.
"Very good. I want the submarines just outside firing distance of their ships, but close enough for us to hit them. Remember, don't fire until they do. When they do, I will instruct the Strategic Missile Command to launch the Rona Missiles."
"Yes, my Queen."
"Will you quit saying that? Call me Rachel. Informally. Do I have to spell it to you?"
"No, Rachel."
"Better. Romalia out."
The screen went blank. Kuznov turned to face his ensigns.
"Alright, kiddies, you heard the lady, send out the instructions."

"Comrade, i do not want to hear it, we are nearly there, we have the troop vessels behind us for when we secure a beachhead, what could go wrong? TBD navy is incompetent, according to our allies they have thrown everyth at them in the gulf, leaving us..." He traces his finger around the Gulf before hitting it hard on the table causing it to jump slightly. "To hit them where it hurts, we will make a beachhead with the 42nd CP marines corps when we are within easy range, we expect there to be some naval problems, but none that will effect us.... greatly."
"If you can believe them comrade-admiral then go ahead,i do not have the power to stop you.
The admiral smiled and called for the radio operator to order the hoisting of the CP flag and begin the attack.

Three hours. Three damn hours they had orbited, waiting for the attack, poised for the fight that had yet to come. The Flankers and Freestyles had landed, refueled, taken off, landed. Now they waited on the flight decks, their pilots resting again, knowing th, for whatever reason, they had been granted a reprieve. The unlucky few who had been ordered aloft to protect the An-71Ms grumbled but did as they were told, changing shifts every hour and a half or so.
Admiral Kuzashkin looked out to the sea and then to the great arc of ships spread out around him, arrayed with all their deadly killing power. He turned to his Radio Operator.
"Comrade," he asked quietly," can we transmit to the enemy ships?"
"Yes, we can use the international open channel," mused the R/O. "Why, you want to ask them out for a drink?" he received in reply a look that could kill a man, and continued quickly, "if you want to communicate we can do it any time, sir."
"Very well, then. Open on the channel and send the following..."
[code:1:10ff787871]Attention all TBD forces. We again request peaceful passage to Communist Louisiana. We do not wish to engage in a needless war. We will not fire unless fired upon by your forces, and I believe the same is true of Resistencia's forces. Please respond.[/code:1:10ff787871]
At the Admirals orders, 456 F-35s lifted off of the land bases and carriers. They were armed with Anti-Aircraft missiles and some ASMs. They were going to enforce a no fly zone, no planes would be allowed within a 100 mile radius of the fleet.
224 F-22As also lifted off to do the same. If an air battle started more planes would be sent in. It was expected IDF would win an air battle as they had more planes when you added in the air force. They also had stealths that would be far supperior to a Hornet.
The IDF forces also had the E-767 and E-3 AWACs that would give them an advantage. They were too large for carriers and based on land.
AEGIS systems with the SM-4 missiles of 200 mile range would protect the fleet by killing planes and shooting down missiles if neccessary.
There were several dozen AEGIS ships in the area.
[code:1:b1a5fb73b4]To: CL
From IDF:
We have sent some of our many UAVs to fly over the fleet. They are small and stealthed.
80 are armed with 2 HARMs to kill radars if a war breaks out.
120 have 8 Hellfire missiles that will do some damage to the ships and more importantly give them a larger RCS when the radar waves bounce off damaged hulls.
140 have 4 Zuni rocket pods with a total of 60 rockets that will do light damage, but can still take out systems and create a larger RCS.
This is only a fraction of the deployed UAV fleet. We will not attack now but do this in preparation.
15 Seawolf class submarines took forward positions. They carried 120 mines each and started laying them in a line. In some places there were 2, 3, or even 4 lines of them. They couldn't cover the whole gap, but the 20 Galaxys that replaced them carried 145 each and came in to continue the mining. At the least, the TBD ships will be slowed.
This is in reaction to reports of possible mining by TBD.[/code:1:b1a5fb73b4]

Aircraft fromthe Yukon, along with those from the other carriers, were under orders to fly continuous sorties closer and closer to the enemy navy. However, Captain Rodriguez was growing restless. "Have patience sir," replied the first-mate, "I'm sure something will happen soon. This can't go on forever, either we go through peacefully, or we fight our way through."
"I guess your right," said the captain, "its just that I'm tired of sitting around doing nothing."

Captain Rodriguez looked up at the stormy sky, now it was time to get into the action. "Send order to the engine room, full power forward."

Admiral Federov was back to his normal self. Now was the moment of truth. The combined fleet of DPUO and Resistencia had begun to sail towards the blockade. It was still to be seen what reaction the enemy would have. "I want everyone ready to retaliate in case we are attacked," he shouted to his crew on the bridge, "I don't want to get caught unprepared." He had ordered all ships in the fleet to be under full battle alert. The worst thing that a commanding officer could ever do was leave his men unprepared. Now, as the fleet sailed full forward, he knew they would be ready for anything.
Captain Derek Alessandro walked up to him. "Sir we have double checked all equipment and all ships have reported in fully operational," he said,"also, all aircraft have reported in, they are under orders to continue flying their sorties."
"Very good," replied the Admiral, "now the ball is in their court, lets see what they do with it." The admiral turned to captain Alessandro, "Captain, you have the bridge, I'll be back in half an hour, I'm going to my quarters, call me if anything happens." "yessir," responded the captain.
The admiral walked off the bridge and towards his quarters. He was going to write to his wife. He always did before a battle or a moment of tension. He did not fear death, but he knew it would help his loved ones deal with it better if he wrote to them before. They all wished he were back there with them, but there was no place he would rather be. This is what he had worked for. To be admiral, to be involved in a war of wills and strategy with a man on the other side. Someone who was going through the same thing as he was. He knew that when he returned to the bridge, nothing would stand between him and his victory.

"Any orders sir?" asked captain Alessandro his second in command.
Admiral Federov took a deep breath as if gathering his thoughts, "Yes, tell all ships to keep their men at battlestations and stay at full combat alert. Send the same message to the DPUO forces and ask that they stay vigilant. Then, send a message to CL and thank them for their air support, and inform them that we will continue moving through the blockade. Premier DuFour- Brief me on the current situations with TBD gentlemen.
Admiral DuFour- We have 400 fighters, 75 anti-submarine aircraft, and 3 radar aircraft in the air making sure the fleets get into the Gulf.
Premier DuFour- Good, Good, what about our naval forces?
Admiral DuFour- They are within 17 miles, thats close enough to destroy all of their ships with the 50+ Battleships in the area. We also have 50 Silencer Class Submarine's and 25 Shotgun Class Cruise Missile Submarine's in the area. The list goes on and on. With the number of aircraft, ships, and military equipment in the area sir, we would have no problum destroying them completely if need be.
Premier DuFour- What about their units Mr. Gulliory? I hope the L.I.A. have been doing their homework.
Mr. Gulliory- Indeed we have Premier.
Mr. Gulliory stands and walks to the wall, he turns on a large television screen showing large a detailed map of the Gulf of Mexico & Carribean. He then takes out a small metal pointer and points and certain spots on the map
Mr. Gulliory- Intelligence reports and the thousands of microphones in the Carribean and Gulf have shown to us that they have a nice size submarine fleet. Our advisors are saying they are dropping very heavy loads of something into the Carribean and Gulf, most likely a type of anti-ship mine.
Premier DuFour- So what should we do to get ride of these mines?
Mr. Gulliory- We have a nice amount of mine hunters in the area. We can send 20 15 Osprey Class Coastal Mine Hunter's to get them sir.
Premier DuFour- Good get them busy

Captain Alessandro stood on the bridge of the RSS Judgement. He was the second in command to admiral Yuri Federov, and was now responsible for keeping everything uder control while the admiral was in contact with the other ships' captains. At only twenty seven years old, he was one of the youngest men at such a high rank. Many considered him one of the best ship commanders in battle that the navy currently had. However, now he needed to excercise his patience more than his combat skill. The massive combined fleet of Resistencia and DPUO were passing through hostile waters. They were going right through the heart of the TBD naval blockade. They were supposedly going through peacefully, but Alessandro knew that at any moment hostilities could break out. "Make sure you continue to monitor any radio traffic coming from their fleet," he shouted at his men, "if anything suspicious comes through, we prepare for battle."
"yessir!" responded the men, as they continued to work their equipment. "Admiral on the bridge!" shouted one of the crewmen, and everyone turned to salute Admiral federov. "Sir, we're passing through without trouble, but we should stay alert, they may be trying to fool us," said Alessandro.
"Good, good," replied the admiral, "I have spoken with commanders of DPUO and CL and I have advised them of that, we must not get fooled. Once we're through the blockade we head straight for CL and unload our goods. We're almost there just a little while longer. I still don't understand why they don't let us through, but I guess they are doing the smart thing, they are outnumbered. Just stay focused and lets get through this."
