Species 1 enters inhabited space

Species 1
21-05-2004, 10:01
It has been many years since Species 1 had arrived to this galaxy and it had been expanding ever since. Already a hundred star systems were restructured to service them and 20 were in the process of being formed as we speak. But only now did they approach space inhabited by others. They would be tossed aside by the storm.

OOC: Basically I am looking for some one willing to do a few border skirmishes with me. You can find some more info about what kind of ships I have here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=140745).
I would like to keep the amount of participants low. 2 or 3 would be best to keep things managable.

What Species 1 will do when they reach the battle is going to be a suprise Outer Heaven. And I am afraid that you are just a little bit too small to play in this rp. However if you could provide some more information as to what kind of fleet you have I could reconsider.

Sorry IB, but I will let Wintree participate. We now have 3 nations and of course Species 1. I will notify Trixia that we are beginning.

IC: A large sphere entered system 133 to see what kind of a resistance would be faced by the fleet that was following him. As soon as it dropped out of warp at the edge of the system it began a sensor sweep for artificial structures and valuable resources.

*System 133, Trixian Outpost*

"Sir, we have a 'sphere' on our sensors!"

"What! Where?"

The Corpral showed him.

"My god! Right hail them!"

OOC: could you give me some information about the ships and assets in this system, Trixia?

IC: Even while it was still scanning it received a transmission.
[code:1:389c1aafe1]"Unidentified Sphere, I am Commander Winters of Trixian Imperial Outpost Alpha 3, identify yourself, now"[/code:1:389c1aafe1]
It responded immediately with the message it was told to give, the voice was clearly artificial:
*I represent 1, we are currently in the process of restructuring our system. It would be safer if you removed yourself and others like you from our system. Resistince is futile."

On the very fringes of the System, a Metal Gear Robin jumped in from Sub-Space. It was here to meet with the Trixians, in the hopes of making an Alliance. It glided around for a while, waiting for the welcoming Party, when a very strange jump signature appeared...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Liquidus raised an eyebrow at the readings. "I've only ever seen a jump reading like this once, during the Great War," Liquidus started to tell his Lt., "The readings are from a Species 1 Sphere. Even though they helped us against the Shivans, we've never discovered if they were friend or foe. Set course for the Sphere, maximum sub-light speeds." he ordered. The Lt. bowed, and then went over to the Enginnering Officer on the other side of the Bridge.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With a short Rumble, the Engines on the Robin's Wings and on it's Tail emitted a big burst of fire, and the Robin shot towards the Sphere at near Sub-Space speeds...

OOC: What is an SSD?

IC: By now it had completed its scan and sent the following message to the task force:
[code:1:8ae8a3a0ef]Scan completed. One outpost, several warships detected. Respone to our message was hostile.[/code:1:8ae8a3a0ef]
It also sent a response to the outpost: *Your suggestion is irrelevant, your response has been analyzed and deemed negative. Abandon your outpost and ships and leave. They will service us now.*
After it had sent that message it phased into B-space making it seem like it had vanished. It would reach the outpost within minutes.

OOC again: When in B-space the ability to see what happens in real space is severely limited.

HMS Spanker hung in space, it's fighter group flying escort duties for the merchantmen as they passed through its area of responsibility.

Captain Harris stood on the bridge looking out into space..

"Sir, Flash message from New Genn fleet yards." said a Midshipman as he passed the captain a datapad, before quickly disappearing back to his station. The captain read through the message:

To: HMS Spanker
From: New Genn Fleet Yards
Encrypt: Wheel 5, Code 879, Rev 51

*** FLASH MESSAGE ***

Monitoring Station 15 have picked up a Unidentifiable object passing through the edge of Trixian space. There are no other details due to the extreme range of the contact.

HMS Spanker is to make a Priority 1 jump to MS15 within the hour. You will then await further orders from HMS Eagle.

*** END MESSAGE ***

When he finished he turned to the helm.. "Comms, all fighters are to return home, helm prepare for a faster then light jump to Monitoring outpost 15."

He then turned to the inter-comm, flicking a switch and picking up the transmitter, "All hands, all hands. Prepare for jump, time to jump is Three zero min. out."

((OOC: SSD is Super Star Destroyer and TSD is Trixian Star Destroyer, my own personal class of Star Destroyer))

A Scout ship just appeared near the Trixian outpost.

"Blimey! He just appeared!"

MESSAGE TO SPHERE

"Leave? Ok...."

*Laser fire on the scout ship followed....*

"....actually, nah..."

The fleet closed in on the sphere intent of disabling it, not detroying it.

MESSAGE TO "Outer Heaven MK II"

"Greetings! Care to help disable this sphere thing?"
Species 1

The laser fire hit the shielding of the scout which immidiately responded by firing plasma bolts down to the outpost. It also noticed the approaching ships but decided to let them come closer.
Trixia
22-05-2004, 12:28
The outposts shields held, they should, they were bloody big...

"Desist and let us board you, you need not die..."
Species 1
22-05-2004, 12:43
So far their shielding technology was worth assimilating. Now came the second part of the test. The bombardement with plasma bolts ceased and it now used its more powerful focused energy beams. In this case however intead of volleys of short bursts it began to fire one continous beam at the outpost. It also sent out a reply to that message:
*You assume that this is a ship. Even if it was, boarding would be illogical, you will fall.*
Trixia
22-05-2004, 12:54
"They seem to Borgy to me Sarge"

"Aye, wipe 'em out"

"Yessir!"

The entire fleet open fire on the sphere, causing it to glow red hot.

"We've got destroy it before it ruins the outpost shields!!"
Species 1
22-05-2004, 13:03
The shields wouldn't hold long against that barrage. It only needed 2 more minutes so now it employed the last weapon in its arsenal. It quickly powered up its warp core but instead of wisking away in the blink of an eye after bending space a little something else happened. Space started to bend and didn't stop, as the fabric of space-time was being twisted and bend all around the ship by the engines. But space couldn't be held in this condition for long. Suddenly it simply let go.

This created a destructive shockwave of space-time that moved outward away from the sphere. Unfortunatly for the scout the shockwave would quickly loose strenght after about 10km. It would be a ripple instead of a tsunami after it passed that point.
Outer Heaven MK II
22-05-2004, 13:20
"My God..." Liquidus uttered. The Shockwave sub-sided just in front of them. The View-Screen couldn't get a proper view, but it looked like serious damage was caused to the Outpost and the Trixian Vessels. Liquidus keyed in a few commands into the console nearest, and the ship roared back to it's full speed, heading towards the Outpost...

"HMS Illustrious this is HMS Eagle, move to nav point 5, set weapons to yellow. over."

The speaker crackled, "Hello Eagle this is Illustrious, moving as ordered. out."

Admiral Jenkins stood on the command deck of HMS Eagle (OOC: An SD), looking out through the forward observation window watching as his fleet moved into position. After he had confirmed that the ships were in their ordered postions he performed a 180 degree turn and looked down into the crew pit at his comm-officer.

"Commander, how many ships have reported in so far?"

"HMS Spanker, HMS Pathfinder, HMS Zebra and HMS Grampus have all reported in as ready for jump, HMS Illustrious just jumped in."

"Very good, comfirm the scans and preapre to jump to the edge of the system. Once we are in system I want a fleet wide scan, also get a message off to the Trixians as soon as we get there as well."

"Yes sir!"
Trixia

[i]Holy Crap!![i/]

"Sir that shock wave have ruined outpost sensors and weapons"

"Shields?"

"They are holding... for now"

"The Fleet?"

"It'll survive but its in no condition to fight sir"

"Damn it! How does the SSD Raptor fair?"

"Its still operational sir, only lost 15% shields sir"

"Good, order it to contiue to blast that god damn Sphere"

"With pleasure sir"

*The SSD continued to blast the sphere*
Species 1
24-05-2004, 06:46
As soon as the shockwave had dissisapated, it began to fire again at the outpost with its energy beams. But the shields were getting low and some of the weapons fire was getting through. Everytime the hull got damaged however tiny mechanical spiders could be seen repairing the hull with the help of cables that brought material from within the sphere. Still this would not end well for the sphere.

Suddenly the sun was blocked out....the reinforcements had arrived.
It was 45km in length, 5km in height and 15km wide. This massive construct contained 50.000 drones and 10 scout vessels. Power is provided for by 4 quantum singularity generators. They are called Restructors and it was not alone. Along with the Restructor, 100 warvessels and 150 scouts had arrived and they were now surrounding the outpost and fleet after which they sent out a short message.
*Resistance was futile.*

"Holy Mother of God..." Liquidus uttered. He signaled 'STOP!!' to the Helsman. He did so, and the Robin stopped right next to the damaged Trixian Outpost. With a quick scan, there were nearly 200+ Vessels in that Fleet. Liquidus couldn't believe it: Species 1 was turning Shivan. Or something like that anyway. Liquidus keyed in a few commands and he opened a Channel to the Lead Scoutship. With this, Liquidus sent out a message to the Vessel: "Species 1, this is Overlord Liquidus Snake of the GTVA and Outer Heaven Mark II. Please cease your attacks immediately, for thr Trixians are potential Allies. You fought beside me against the Shivan Invasion, so I see you as a Friendly...Nation. Please, stop attacking the Trixians and tell me why you are doing this. Liquidus out!" he finished. He left the Channel open for Species 1 to send them a message back, but Liquidus doubted it would be good. Species 1 had appeared out of nowhere, and like everyone else, they were fighting for survival. Liquidus still shuddered at even thinking of working with the god damned Indrans. But the worst of times brought the worst of people together. Maybe Species 1 were hostile, but helped because they wanted to exist as one, not under Shivan rule. Liquidus only hoped that they would give heed to his request...

The Commander on the SSD turned to look at the fleet. It contain alot of ships...

"Damn it!! We can't hold out against them!"

"I know sir, but we will lose the outpost!"

"Evacuate it! Get all personnel to the ships and wipe the outposts computers, we'll leave it as a shell they cannot use or assimilate. And when we come back, we'll just upload the new programs and wipe out these ruffians"

"Very good sir"

He ran of to sound the evacuation.

"These aliens will pay!"

OOC: I am making this post in the assumption that you have left the system after sabotaging your station of course.

IC: Now that the fleet had finally left the system, restructuring could begin. First order of business was the outpost that was now examined by a few scouts so that their weapons would be more effective against their shields. The outpost itself was left alone however as it was determined that restructuring the asteroid field could best begin on the other side of the system. The rest of the scouts therefore distributed themselves over the system.

Some landing on the planets while others began to tow asteroids to the Restructor. This huge craft now began to absorb the asteroids and process them into building blocs for a huge construct that would serve as the shipyard for this system but these blocs would also be used to construct a jump gate.

The spheres that had landed on the planets began to dissassemble themselves into factories and mines which slowly began to spread across the surface of the planet. It would take a year before this process would be completed but the jump gate would be ready in a week.

They were noticed by the sensor grid and by the time they reached the outpost they were met by a fleet of vessels.

Of course the Restructor was there, screened by as much as 200 warvessels and 20 scouts. Among them was a cloud of drones numbering 58.400.

These drones were only 4m in length and had minimal shielding and only one focused energy beam emitter. Still it had a lot of power behind it and the vessels of Species had learned a great deal about the shields the Trixian forces used from the outpost. Their weapons would be far more effective. Unfortunatly the weapons on the outpost had been to badly damaged to learn much of them.

Meanwhile the cube now sped towards system 1 while the room that Liquidius had portaled into was indeed completely empty. It was only 2.5 meters high and 10m long and wide. No door, window or computer screen was visible and the entire room seemed rather clean.
As his back was turned to one part of the room, a figure came out of the floor.

And with that the room seemed to vanish and the two were now flying through space without protection from the cold vacuum.

“Rest assured, this is merely a holographic representation of our surroundings. You are still safely inside the vessel.”

What could be seen was unsettling too. Their target was a massive station which stretched as far as the eye could see even though they were still quite far away. The nearest planet that could be seen was a gas giant. Or more accurate what used to be a gas giant because it seemed that the gas was being siphoned of and the planet was very small for its kind. But the most disturbing was the lack of sunlight as only a ray of light could be seen here and there as what seemed to be a massive sphere enclosed it. And the traffic around the station itself was busy as hundreds perhaps even thousands of vessels raced by from and to the station. They were now getting very close to the station and the docking port that the cube would use could already be seen.

The cube had now reached the station and as it entered the image dissapeared and the room came back. One could here metal colliding with metal as the vessel docked. Then the room seemed to move forward for 25 seconds after which it stopped.

"We have arrived."

And with that, the walls and ceiling were removed. Leaving Snake standing on a raised platform in a rather large room. The square platform was surrounded by 10 machines who seemed to be 4 meter tall machine and were floating in the air.

"These are the ones that speak for Species 1. I will remain to facilitate in the talks."

Liquidus watched. Vinculums? He didn't know, but these are Species 1's Leaders. Liquidus bowed. "Greetings, I am Liquidus Snake, Leader of Outer Heaven Mark II. It's an honour to meet you."

They spoke as one.

*We speak for Species 1. We are the oldest ones in this galaxy. We experienced galaxy 1. We were intrigued by your request and therefore we granted it. Now, what is it that you want to talk to us about?*

"Everything. If what you say is true, then you must know everything about how this Galaxy came into being and evolved. I would be honoured to have the history of this Galaxy." Liquidis started. "Also, I would like to negotiate two things. One, a cease fire with my allies, the Trixians, and two, an alliance between us." he finished.

Suddenly 3609 came to live again and turned to Snake.

"It seems that a failure to communicate has already arisen. That was the reason for my design.
These individuals are only the oldest members of Species 1 and are merely between the 1400 and 3000 years old. They came from galaxy 1 which is called thus because that is where they originated. When they arrived in this galaxy a few decades ago they simply called it galaxy 2 and the system they arrived in, system 1. Not very original but what do you expect from a species that can't think of a better name then Species 1!
As for the origin of Species 1? They are almost 16.000 years old as a race and they came to this galaxy when there was nothing left to expand to in their own galaxy."

Now the leaders took over again.

*The faction that calls itself Trixia made its choice. Their faith is clear. Yours is not....yet. You speak of an alliance but what is in it for us? What do we gain from such a pact?*

OOC: Trixia, still waiting for your response on the attack.

"Well for a start off, we have higher technology than you do, so we could trade. You'll gain a powerful ally. We know alot about this galaxy. And people that aren't our allies are generally concieved as...hostile. Also, why did you arrive and take over that Trixian outpost?" he asked.

*That system was ours, they were given the chance to evacuate. Our scouts have already mapped 58% of this galaxy and the rest will not take long. And assumption that we care for how you feel is false.
This being said we are willing to let your faction keep their territory for a price.*

Trixian TIEs were finding it very hard to hit the S1 drones and taking losses, but were gradually breaking them down.

"Sir, we need to take down a key point of this borg base"

"I agree, take out... this one"

*All trixian vessels began to attack the largest part of the S1 base*

OOC: The base is not located on the edge of the system and I thought we weren't near them but ok.

IC:
The attack hit the shields of the base. Because of the immense power it had, getting through the shields would be difficult. Especially since the amount of damage one blast did to the shields gradually went down as the shields were tweaked constantly to work better against their weapons.

The cubes now decided to get closer to the enemy and advanced. They also changed their volley fire of several energy beams into one continous beam of fire. Their aim was to collapse the shielding of the ships after which they would move on to take on other ships. They also concentrated their remaining antimatter missiles at the largest ships and fired them all while the plasma bolts were fired at the nearest target.

The drones meanwhile also changed tactics now that they had lost another 300 and instead of taking on the fighters individually they now used their superior coordination to lure a fighter with one drone and then jumping on that fighter with two others.

Even though the shield were tough, they had to keep firing. Messages were sent out to OHmkII to aid us in this attack. As Trixian TIEs were starting to loose fighters to Drones lureing and swamping them, they tried to stick to groups of 3 minimun. The Flagship, the SSD Defender, was taking heavy fire but it had the most up-to-date shielding known to trixia, it was after all, the flagship...

The teaming up of the TIE-fighters meant that the drones that functioned as bait were lost often but it didn't prevent the TIE's from being blown up. Now that the fighters were moving in groups the 20 scouts changed targets and began to fire their plasma bolts at the larger groups and sweeping their focused energy beams through them. A further 200 drones were lost however before the scouts stepped in.

The warvessels meanwhile had analyzed the capabilites of the enemy and had determined which ships were most vulnerable. The 200 ships began to use their continous energy beam on the dreadnoughts to collapse their shields.
