yes normaly it would be a mess to handle but that is why there is an arm strap on it to stablizie to weapon for bayonet use.

The Uzi was and still is offered with a retractable buttstock and a bayonet.
This gun is not so different, the Bayonet may not be very practical, but its not like it has been completely ignored by other nations.
The SA-80 as well as several other major world assault rifles are offered with a Bayonet. Don't criticize the man for doing what many other nations do.
