The Shalrirorchian government of President Tarumigan Aeii Gistarai announced harsh new responses to counter the growing threat of global and local terrorists within that nation this week.
"Shalrirorchia is seen by some of these organizations as a haven where they can escape the justice of the world." Gistarai said. "Although Shalrirorchia is not a member of the United Nations, any terrorists captured by the Defense Force or our law enforcement agencies WILL be turned over to the U.N international court."
This week marks the beginning of the Anti-Terrorist Act. In addition to clearing the way for speedy extradition of terrorists, the Act also permits limited detention for confirmed terrorists, and authorizes the use of "physical coercion techniques" to extract information from confirmed terrorists captured on Shalrirorchian territory.
In related news, the Shalrirorchian Army has launched peacekeeping operations to pacify the Arkady Islands terrorist cells currently operating within Shalrirorchian national borders. The Arkady groups are a network of "freedom fighters" that allegedly have ties to international terrorist organizations.
"We WILL crush this insurgency." General George Beregovoy, Shalrirorchia's Defense Minister, is quoted as saying. "And we will leave no stone unturned in finding anybody who has supported the Arkady Uprising."
