Advances in SCIENCE!!!

Platonic

This Bordello Times reporter had the distinct honor of getting the inside track at the annual Platonic Science and Discovery fair. As most of our readers are aware the fair is open to the general public and even held simultaneously at 3 locations to allow a larger number of people to visit it. I was fortunate enough though to exchange some words with some of the Scientists behind this years prime exhibits!

First I was able to speak with Sara Misonovich, that's right folks "THE" Sara Misonovich. If you haven't heard of her before that's because the rock you live under hasn't been moved for quiet a while. Famous for many discoveries in genetic engineering and design she was also one the team member on our Auir II diplomatic team.

Sara spoke to me at length about the new wood-metal alloys that they are growing as a result of her and othere genetist's work. As things stand currently they can only effectively grow them in a lab environment. However there are high hopes that within the next two decades they will have developed ones that can grow naturally in any soil. Her team has also made some amazing progress in matter conversion bacteria, getting to the point where they are able to convert one time of matter into another similar type of matter. This promises to be a very exciting field in resource development and looks to have a strong future.

After I finished speaking with Sara I was able to speak with Space craft engineer Roger Zien. He had alot to say about the new series of (currently unnamed) passenger and freight craft that Platonic were planning on producing. The current craft Platonic uses for these purposes (The Albatross (cargo carrier) and The Kangaroo (passenger transport)) although workable are the previous generation of craft. The new craft will be better in just about every possible way being faster, cheaper to build, much more environmentally friendly and boasting larger cargo and passenger capacity. Once these craft reach final production in the next couple years they will be able to be able to start the movement of cargo and people to and from Mars at a much faster pace.

Finally I talked with with a Dr. Mattock who is one of our countries leading genetic-computerists. His field of development is seeing some strong improvements. The development of electro-organic computers is showing unparrelled promise. He provided a demonstration where his system calculated out the entire genetic strain of Homo Sapien in just under 6 minutes from scratch. Needless to say, very impressive. (OOC: This may seem wankish but I can see us hitting this with current RL tech in 50 years or less with relative ease.)

I should be with you tomorrow with even more updates from the fair. This is Science coorespondent Lisa Milan signing off!
