OOC: this is a friendly (between the players it is) skirmish with two nations trying our hand at a first war RP. It will be kept short and neither country is about to mobilize its entire military. Please keep from sending forces in unless you are onme of the two countries involved. Aid of any other form will nto be required as this is not a major war. Neither country has nukes.

IC: Notquiteaplace has been mining the Island of Tatsa for quite a while now. Recently we found foreign nationals using our reasources. Attempts at getting these intruders (who are from Duuk Staarith) removed have been not only ignored, but laughed at by the government. We see this intrusion as an act of war if you do not remove your people as this is our land you are stealing from.

The island is approximately rectangular about 40 miles long and 35 miles wide and lies on the South edge of the mineral Archipelago region. It is temparate in climate and is known to contain depositis of Platinum, iron and small amounts of Aluminium. It is otherwise nearly empty aopart from a few small forests along the North coast (the NQP end) and the South Eastern Coast. A small (1200m) mountain rises in the centre and it and its small foothills dominate the view of the island. Mines are dotted about on both sides.

We have a small base halfway along the North coast with several docks, a temporary dock has been created 10 miles east of this, slightly South of it.

We have one regiment (1000 men) of infantry stationed there at present along with three light tanks, one mobile artillery unit and 2 fighter squadrons of 8 interceptors and one of 8 fighter bombers. There are a handful of mobile defense mislile units postitioned there also (4 racks of 6 on trucks) and a comm unit and radar staiton to communicate with these. Transports will arrive in minutes carrying more men tanks and equipmment. These transports are being escorted by our navy flagship the subduer of indifference and sevral other ships of varying size. A single wing of attack fighters is also headed over and willbe landing shortly.

Please withdraw or face the consequences.

(OOC: report what you are deploying and what is already there and give a suitable reply)

EDIT: we are in different time zones so this will be quite drawn out, so please be patient with me. :)

Mainly *bump*

but we have ordered the troops to form a defensive positon, with quads with flamethrowers and LMGs concentrated in the forest with AT squads and a some anti helicopter units. 2 NQP gunship helicopters have arrived at the base with the aircraft and the fleet is unloading troops. Please hurry and start deploying your troops. :)

Other units are around the main base with the existing garrison.

Unloaded nits comprise 5 more combat tanks (heavy tanks) 8light tanks 2 more 203mm cannon artillery and an extra comms unit. Another 4 AA misile trucks are setting up. 2000 additional infantry have begun marching on the hills with 3 of the light tanks. There are 20 field medics and 1 comapny of engineers presebnt as well as a small number of SOC soldiers, which is unknown by you but in double figures as the unit is highly secretive. Transport is available for them.

The fleet is guarding the basewith a bombardment equipped dragonfish cruiser "panther" in dock along with an "eagle" class destroyer, the remainder is escorting the transport back, while an AA dragonfish and dolphin light cruiser are travelling to assist with 2 seadragon subbs and 2 "piranha" class corvettes are travelling with them to keep shipping routes between Notquiteapalce and the island clear. The dreadnought "kentish" class "subduer of indifference" is also on that route with a single eagle class destroyer, 1 shark class frigate and and a spinefish class aircraft carrier along with one or two smaller boats. They are not deployed to directly assist the conflict but to keep supply lines clear. Mines have been deployed in certain areas to keep the areas clear.
This will not affect regional shipping if you remain in the standard shipping lanes, standard NQP navy patrols are still on these routes.
