After the massive economic crash of 2023, Japan slid into chaos as the Keiretsu (Corporations) collapsed. Only recently, some 20 years later, has a single faction appeared to grow strong enough to reunify Japan, which is now a shattered archipeligo of weak nations.
The Emperor today gave a speech, claiming that Japan will become great once more, and this would happen through persistance...and persistance would come with determination. Elections for a new prime minister are due to take place soon. What actions will be taken to reunify Japan remain under speculation. The government currently only controls Tokyo.
