All had gone as planned. The brewing storms and stealth capabilities were time perfectly for the Daylami transports to land on Madeira undetected. Surging onto the beaches was the Daylami Marine Corps, numbering some 200,000 men. They moved throughout the island, using Portuguese translators and calling surrender to any. The Marines faced absolutely no resistance.

The Madeira Islands, with their capital at Funchal, had fallen without a fight. SSM emplacements were first priority, as was rebasing several F-22s and F/A-18Zs onto the island. The few inhabitants of the island seemed to have a passive indifference to the take-over.


The plans for Madeira gave Daylam a quick and easy access to the Atlantic and Mediterranean, allowing for a much closer surveillance on Northern Africa, ViZion, Matich, Chellis, and Jarridian forces. Madeira was to be turned into a fortress, self-sufficient and a base for the Daylami Navy. Preparations were made at once.

OOC: Thanks for the help. Obviously it cannot remain secret for long but it can remain secret enough for me to turn the place into a defensible fortress before its found out.

Daylami Marines, numbering 200,000 men, feverishly begin setting up fortifications to the two small islands. SSM missiles are armed and set up, and fighters began to be rebased. Using local authorities, the Madeirans put up a front of being still under native government. Even so, it would take long before the news broke and the enemy was on Daylam like burs to a pant leg.

You invaded another nation. It will be made public faster then you think.

Jarridia, get a clue. It is a tiny island. It is not that hard to control or to keep a secret for a few days. You didnt whine and complain when IDF made his "secret" takeover of Kerguelen, did you?

"This place is starting to shape up." commented General Rao, an Army commander who had taken control of the Marines for the operation. SSM forces had been emplaced.
F-22 aircraft has been landed on the air base, which had been enlarged by the Marines. Anti-ship artillery, missiles, and planes were brought in, along with SAM batteries.
Fortress Madeira had been created.

Later that day, a total of 2 anti-Daylam protestors (the entire anti-Daylam population) washed up ashore in a fishing boat on the east coast of Portugal. Reports confirmed what the men were claiming.


Daylam had taken the Madeiran Islands.

OOC: He isn't invading anyone. He is invading two little island owned by no NS nation if he was trying to invade a nation like this then I'd be on your side. I will not take it back, you are cheating or godmoding you pick what you want me to call it.

OOC: That island group (as are the Azores and Canary Islands) is currently occupied by a division or two of WA marines...and a WA Grand Fleet. It's been 'owned' by WA for at least 2 weeks (I believe more). No secret invasion was made...WA just landed several thousand marines and took control.

The Canaries are set to be abandoned soon, tho.

OOC: Some prier proof would be nice.

OOC: Which thread? I dont remember it, but you aren't very active in Atlantic and Mediterranean affairs anyway, so if you and me ever collide in an RP I will assume you have it (until/if you abandon it).

Jarridian and Apple Zero threats were ignored as pledges of supportfrom larger nations emboldened the Daylami Marines. Rao ordered the entrenchment of all and prepared Madeira for a fight.

As much as I may agree with you, the islands WERE unclaimed by any nation, so it is a legitimate claim. Let's pick a better battle at another time.

perfectly sure...4 posts, 4 threads. All within 3 pages of my history in searching-by-thread.

As for the "not active in Med. and atlantic affairs" it should be noted that WA is, in game, in a strategic position to control access to major parts of the Med. Sea...and RPs as actively as possible within that envelope with nations that can RP well.

As far as IC activities...shore batteries of hypersonic ASMs and long-range air and ground radar nets were set up within 48 game hours of occupation followed by a few weeks of base building and infrastructure building and improvement...and it's been several RL weeks. They're quite well established.

You're free to move into the Canary Islands...but the Azores and Madeiras were seized for a reason ICly...WA wanted a firmer base in the central atlantic and along the western coast of Africa...they were and remain the perfect bases.

OOC: Hmm, I see. The Canaries might not be too bad of a base for the Daylami Navy and Marine Corps. We'll take em. :lol:
It would seem, though, as if the Azores would be good for the Atlantic and the Canaries for Africa, with the Madeiras sort of inbetween. Oh well.

200,000 Marines moved into the vacant Canary Islands to assume control after a power vacuum. Harbors and SSM batteries are in the priority as F-22s rebase themselves to the Canaries. The small Daylami Navy prepares to make the Canaries its permanent base.

OOC: Always good to see nations dealing with things diplomatically.
