This is HNN in Prime Time
As we have been reporting for the past few days, there has been an unusually elevated amount of activity in Prince Elector Fredrick IV Royal Airforce Base. The Ministries of Defense, Finance, and the Ministry of Health and Domestic Security have all denied any knowledge of the increased activity.
Prince Elector Fredrick IV Royal Airforce Base, is located 25 miles from Hamptonshire City at an elevation of 20,000 feet. Besides providing air defense to the Capital, housing for Grand Duke One, and the headquartes for Central Bombing Command, the Base is also host to 100 nuclear missile silos.
Witnessed have claimed that in the past two days several dozen large transport planes have been arriving each day and that over 3,000 additional personnel have been moved onto the base from other locations in Hamptonshire. HNN has also received unconfirmed reports that several nuclear missile silos are being worked on while their missiles are being modified.
When asked for comment Prime Minister Cessar issued this statement: "There is nothing going on at Prince Elector Fredrick IV AFB. Nothing. All rumors are just that, rumor. The Citizens of Hamptonshire must know that the Government will only act in the best benefit of its People."
Senator Allenby, President of the Royal Congress also issued this statement: "What may or may not be occuring at Prince Elector Fredrick IV AFB is of no consequence. The People should know that the NURP Coalition is leading the Citizens of Hamptonshire into a new era. What may or may not happening in Prince Elector Fredrick IV AFB may or may not be a part of that future."
We'll try to bring you all the information we can get about this situation. Please stay tuned to the Hamptonshire News Network.

People of the Grand Duchy, People of the World-- tonight is cause for great celebration. 15 minutes ago Major Jacob Paxton returned to Hamptonshire. Why is this important, my fellow Citizens? Major Paxton returned from Outer Space.
2 hours ago a modified Peacemaker nuclear missile was used to launch Major Paxton into low orbit of this globe we call Earth. For 90 minutes he slipped the surly bonds of earth and touched the face of God. This is the first in a long series of planned manned missions to space. It is the intent of the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire to have a permanent presence in low earth orbit within the next 30 years.
At Prince Elector Fredrick IV Royal Airforce Base, 125 nuclear missiles sit ready in the ground to reign destruction upon those that would attack the Grand Duchy. Those weapons that possess such awesome destructive power and the potential to end all human life known to exist are being used for scientific expansion. When a missile launches from Prince Elector Fredrick IV Royal Airforce Base, it will not signal the end of life but the beginning of a new future.
The road to space will not be easy, many have died to so that we may reach the point that we are at today. Now that we have entered space we cannot turn our backs on it. Our nation will no longer be confined to our cradle, we have learned to crawl.
Thank you.

The Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire thanks all nations that have sent their regards. Construction of a small fleet (4 craft) of space shuttles are currently being designed and built by the HDC. While we are still launching our men into space aboard rockets, it is hoped that in 7 years the Grand Duchy will be using reusable space vehicles.
Thank you all.

Today, the Royal Space Agency launched the first Hamptonian made reusable Space Shuttle. The Shuttle Leif Eriksson was launched from Pad Alpha from the Grand Duke Hans Frederick IV Space Center at 09:00 this morning. A crew of 7 intrepid Astronauts boarded the Leif Eriksson as flew their way into the history books.
The Space Shuttle Leif Eriksson, along with its sister ships Christopher Columbus, Ferdinand Magellan, and Vasco Da Gama, are a new generation of reusable space shuttle called Single State to Orbit vehicles. Using aerospike engines, the Leif Eriksson-type Space Shuttles are able to achieve Earth orbit in a single stage.
These shuttles will allow the Royal Space Agency to perform orbit missions at a 10th of the cost of more traditional forms of space transportation. It is the hope of the RSA, and indeed of the entire nation, that these Shuttles will allow us to build a permanent space station in the next 15 years.

Press Release from the Hamptonian Royal Space Agency
I would like to announce that the Hamptonshire Defense Corporation, Space Division and the Royal Space Agency, Construction Division have been jointly awarded the contract for the construction of Space Station Opportunity. Over the next 15 years, the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire, through the RSA, will spend $250 billion on the development, construction, and deployment of the Space Station. The HDC and the Royal Space Agency will be working around the clock for the next decade and a half to get the Space Station into orbit with all the necessary technology.
The Royal Space Agency is also placing an order for an additional two Leif Eriksson-type Space Shuttles. These additional shuttles will allow the Royal Space Agency to continue scientific experiments while the construction and testing of Space Station Opportunity is taking place.
Thank you and May God Bless the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire

The People's Republic Of Neo Pacifica have been watching your space program with great interest and for ourselves have hoped to developed our own space program, but due to fiscal costs with most of our funding and tax dollars being diverted to Social Programs, Health Care and National Defence we have not been able to sufficently launch a credible space program.
However this has not dampened our hopes of reaching into space, so it is here that I purpose to your government. For 4 Years we have developed a research satellite intended to help develop and test some new technologies we have been developing. This satellite will act like a time capsule and will help us greatly in monitoring the effects of space to vegatables, equipment etc. in our vision of one day developing a Orbital Station of our own. In short we ask the Grand Duchy Of Hamptonshire if they could help transport this satellite which we have named 'Zeus with the company of Flight Captain Taka Manchuri from Her People's Air Force of Neo Pacifica.
If you accept we are willing to offer the Hamptonshire government 700 Million USD for fuel and transportation costs, plus any new data we discover. Thank you for your time.

It is fortunate that you have come to the RSA at this time, if you would have sent your request just days later we would not be able to help you. Fortunately, the Space Shuttle Vasco Da Gama is being readied for launch. Since its mission does not require use of the payload pay, the RSA will accept your offer of 700 Million USD for the deployment of the satellite Zeus. The RSA, of course, will ask for access to the data you will retreive from this satellite.
A Royal Air Force AN-225 will be sent to Neo Pacifica to pick up Zeus and Flight Captain Taka Manchuri. The launch of the Vasco Da Gama is scheduled in 120 hours.
The RSA hopes that this is the first step toward cooperation in space with the People's Republic of Neo Pacifica.
Sincerely,

We are sorry for interrupting your usually scheduled broadcast, but Prime Minister Cessar has requested all networks to show his address. There he is coming to the podium. Let's listen:
Today the Shuttle Vasco Da Gama launched with a crew of six Hamptonians and one Neo Pacifican. Aboard the shuttle was the Pacifican satellite Zeus. It is with great pleasure that I announce that launch of the Shuttle and the release of the satellite could not have gone better. The Vasco Da Gama and it's intrepid international crew will continue in space for another 10 days continuing scientific experiments.

The Da Gama releasing the Zeus satellite in earth orbit
The Vasco Da Gama's current mission is the last Shuttle mission that will not be directed toward the development and construction of Space Station Opportunity. We have many new technologies that need testing and the construction of the massive station will take years, possible decades. That is why I am proud to announce that in 3 months the newly built Space Shuttles Meriwether Lewis and William Clark will be added to the current fleet of four shuttles. The two new shuttles will allow the RSA to continue with the process of building the space station and will allow the RSA to continue the launching of scientific shuttle missions.
It is the hope of the Royal Space Agency and the His Royal Highness' Government that more nations will join us in the scientifc exploration of space.
Thank you and May God Bless the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire
