Pacificat High Speed Sealift Transport* (produced under license by Hudecia Industries)

http://www.sfu.ca/casr/navalsc3-7.jpg

Naval militarized conversion of a civilian high speed catamaran ferry. Capable of operating in all but the shallowest of harbours, it is capable of disgorging an entire combat ready infantry batallion with armour support and rear eschelon elements in under 30 minutes thanks to its roll on roll off capability. Can be reconfigured to act as a field hospital or refugee transport. Armed with only .50 cal machine guns for littoral water self defense, chaff / flare dispensers, and Phlanx CIWS anti missile point defense, this ship requires armed naval escort while passing through hostile waters. Sea Sparrow vertical launchers can be added with fire control radars but at the expense of reduced tonnage carrying capacity. Normally ships of this class would not be operating independently of a naval operational group without escort.

Top speed @ full load = 37 knots (68 km/hr)
Top speed @ no load = 40 knots (74 km/hr)
Draft = 3.9 m
Range = 7500 km
Max Cargo Mass = 350 tonnes
Two Heliocopter pads

Armament

My nation is impressed with the naval technology offered but is more concerned with second wave reinforcement through advanced military sealift capacity. We lack the instantanous production capability of your shipyards but we do have some naval technology to trade. The specifications of a military conversion high speed catamaran for military sealift (project 'Pacificat') can be found at this site.

http://www.sfu.ca/casr/th-alsc.htm
http://www.sfu.ca/casr/101-navalsc3.htm

I am proposing that in exchange for full production, arms export rights and technical specifications for this ship, we recieve equivalent credit of 2 billion dollars in equipment from your shipyards.

On a technical note, we have noticed that the antishipping Harpoon Missile is too large to be carried on any Blackhawk airframe. We currently are using navalized radar guided versions of the Hellfire missile, British Sea Skua for fastboat defense and Mk46 lightweight torpedos for ASW (antisubmarine warfare). Our declassified naval tactical information database can be found here.

http://www.sfu.ca/casr/101-0navy.htm

We were also considering purchasing a more powerful AGEIS capable ship as primary air defense destroyer such as the Arleigh Burke AGEIS destroyers. We will also seriously consider the purchase of Province Class frigates if they come upgraded with the next generation Enhanced Sea Sparrow missiles and EH-101 Merlin antisubmarine heliocopters.

We only seek to maintain our independence in troubled times.

OOC: I had some questions about the size of the Harpoon missile and the Blackhawk too, but it was kind of an afterthought. The Harpoon missile (from what I read) is about 5 m in length so it definately would cause some problems unless it was heavily modified. Modifying some Hellfire missiles would probably make more sense.

I'm also working on buying the right to enplace some advanced Maritime Meteor missiles onto the Province hulls (actually Hudecian Province Destroyers have them onboard but I was concerned about selling them because _Taiwan developed the technology - I'm hoping to work this out with him soon.)
Hudecia
21-05-2004, 18:12
OOC:
I did some more background work on the Harpoon missile and it should be able to fit on the UH-60 frame. It is presently used on the F-15 frame which is only about 4 m longer than the UH-60 frame. This is mostly because the Harpoon air-to-surface antishipping missile is slightly modified in length.

http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/factfile/missiles/wep-harp.html

I will indeed sell those Merlin EH-101s once I can dig up some stats on them.

OOC:
As in most independant countries, can I claim to have indigenious ammunition production capability? I'm thinking of all basic small and large caliber ammunition types (ie. 5.56mm, 7.62mm, 120mm HEAT, 84mm Carl Gustav). There would obviously be an exception for guided missiles. I could not find an equivalent ship design of the 'Pacificat' on any naval storefront. I assumed that I could use it and claim that since I found it on-line that my 'Defense Research Department' came up with it. Do you have any objections?

If I help you obtain the detailed plans of the EH-101 by spying or hacking, does that also count towards industrial espionage? :D

Here's the link to an EH-101 page.

Are you also planning on expanding your storefront to include Army and Airforce? I'm currently undergoing full initial capital investment.
Hudecia
22-05-2004, 01:31
OOC:
You can claim to have your own indiginous ammo production. You are over 1 month old, that means you can probably begin to go into some serious production.

That "Province class destroyer " I'm selling is a modified version of one that I found online. It was supposed to replace the RCN's old Tribal class destroyers but it didn't get past the idea phase. So I modified some stats on it and claim it as my own. So I don't have any objections for you to do the same with the "Pacificat", just change some key stats on it. i.e.. we add on some new anti-air tech and all.

I tell you what, we can open up a joint industries storefront for Army and Airforce.

UV... I have seen other nations selling them for less... While this may not be the most proper way of figuring new prices I did do some more research before I posted, thank you.

Estimated Cost of Nimitz-class carrier= $4.5 billion

I estimate that the profit margin that is earned on building carrier is about 20-30%. Cost for building infrastructure 10-20%. Cost for materials and other assorted costs account for the rest. (I assume that the cost of aircraft was separate from the estimate I found)

So let me clarify:
1)I do not sell aircraft on the carrier, the carrier is empty.

2) Current costs for carriers do not consider mass production. All current carriers were/are produced individually, so the cost of building the carrier includes the cost of building/modifying infrastructure to build the carrier. If you are constantly producing the carriers the cost of the infrastructure becomes less and less relative to each carrier.

3) Companies that produce carriers make huge profit margins off them. I do not make any profit off the carriers. It attracts customers to my storefront who then buy other warships as well.

Does that clarify how I came to the current price?

Hmm... SoonerGlory...

I'll sell you the equipment, but I am concerned about the economic state of your nation. Be sure that you do not make any large purchases in the next little while.

Our payment schedule will extend over the 3 RL week shipping period. Each RL day you will pay $30 billion until the full sum is paid. As you pay, your order will arrive piece by piece.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

OOC: I know you haven't bought much since you were created, so I'll sell you the warships, but any nation buying $210 billion worth of equipment merits a double-take. I would rather if we worked out a long-term sale so that it isn't godmodding. If you have another nation supporting you monitarily I'll back off (but it is to ensure that I don't get accused of godmodding).

No, it did not contain the $2 billion 'in store' credit. The balance of the $10.25 billion will be wired upon complete delivery.
