Reporter: "...and in other News, a large scale strike has broken out at the Infinity Urnanium Mines. The mines are owned by the Global Banking Corporation and workers have claimed that since the companey announced huge profit increases this week they should be entitled to an increased pay. The situation is believed to have escalated when the Corporation's CEO Lady Nicoletta Baccehus commented; "They have every right to ask for what they are worth, however they are not worth what they are asking". Union leaders were apperntly so offended they called for mass strikes accross the nation at all mines and factories owned by the Global Banking Coporation. We'll keep you up to date as it happens"

Riot Police are believed to have responded with what was described by Police Cheif Andrews as Maximum Reasonable Force...

The Minister for National Defence and Internal Security has taken the unsual step of calling Armed Forces to support the small local Police Force, sources indicate they have been delayed as the road leading from the Liber Army Barracks passes the Capital City. And since no Armed Forces are allowed within 15 Kilometers of the Capital City they have been redirected through a back road and should arrive in Micenae City within a few hours"

For riot pervention might we of the Mikosolf Corperation sudgest a few control methods.

A) Illiteracy, hard to organize by word of mouth alone
B) Drugs, who wants to riot when you get free drugs
C) Careful removal of obvious leaders and force a renoucement of their beliefs on national television, tear out their heart the rest of the body quickly crumbles.

A Few Rich People, we believe that such beliefs undermine the dignity of the workers and their rights to better working conditions. We condemn such beliefs, actions, and attitudes that would degenerate the worth of the workers.

OOC: You don't know what dignity is??

The quality or state of being worthy of esteem or respect.
Inherent nobility and worth
Poise and self-respect.

There's more, but this is what I was referring to.

OOC: My actual person of course knows the meaning of the word, but using it as I did signified my IC lack of knowledge and/or lack of use of it.

And thank you Rotavia, thats exactly what it was

IC:

Ah! And you expect workers to have that? Dignity is a gift for the cream of the crop. I'm sure the workers are quite content, they get three meals a day, a roof over their head, unlimited internet access, grueling 14 hour work days in hazordus conditions, what more could they want!

The United Socialist States of Temme believes that workers are entitled to more:

The right to be considered persons equal to that of a CEO or other wealthy person.

The right to an education.

The right not to be looked down upon and condescended to.

Ah, but I must tell you that ever man and woman who serve with me on the Board were once workers as well. But, we were able to pull ourselves up by the boot straps to gain such positions of power. In the Mikosolf Corperation everyone is not equal, those who deserve it gain power and respect, those who do not drudge and toil till the day they die.

My question is: if you keep your workers drugged and illiterate, then how will they ever be competent enough to become board members? And surely there is no one in your nation who has inherited all of his/her money, and couldn't work a day in their life if their life depended on it?

OOC: Kinda like Paris Hilton.

OOC: As you rise up (even a little bit) the hours are less (or maybe just less grueling) and you have free time to learn, especially higher up. At about the second level (above taskmaster) reading becomes a requirement for further promotion, and while some prusue it others are happy bossing people around on a "personal level". Now by all means are even the board scientists of the like but they are compitent and have many lessons from the school of hard knocks.

(People for R&D are a diffrent matter, its not a aplitude test or the like, but general observation, if you show what they are looking for they are plucked out of the working life and placed in a more schollary setting where creative thoughts can thrive)

As to inherited wealth, there is none, because in a sense no one has money. Oh sure they can buy things, but its a credit (The company owns you so much money for your labor, and you can use some of it to pay for things). But its for that person only when they die so does their accumilated credit (usually, unless its some odd situation).

Even the members of the board have no money, they are just "owed" a lot of it.

"The Bedou leaders are quite concerned at news that a company owned by Global Banking Corporation are in a state of unrest. We are contacting you to verify that Global Banking Corporation itself is in no jeopardy.
The holdings Bedou has in the GBC system are small, but Sheik Mohammed has staked his reputation on negotiating for the Ancient Order of Hibernians to route their funds through Bedou then into the GBC.
These secret negotiations have been going on for months and we fear this incident could severly jeopardize the plans success. If neeeded, we can send a third party representitive with a "Donation" for the striking workers. Or we have other means which we may imploy(at your acceptance of course) to add in the striking workers returning to work.
One no less would be to send you a reasonble amount of migrant workers to fill the striking workers positions until they cry for their jobs back and hush this nonsense.
We await your response, and are humbly at your services."

Although the United Socialist States of Temme supports the workers, we believe that the forceful methods suggested by Xaniqall are not necessary. Furthermore, we also believe that by using peaceful methods, the workers would take the high road and show themselves superior to those who must force them.

"Though the Right to Gather, Freedom to Gather and Freedom of Association garuntee the Right the Protest, the States cannot regulate against the use of good capitalist ethic. Holding that Rotovia employs a largely socialist economic system, we still require that basic rules of commerce be obeyed. That said, I must remind the workers of the Inifinity Mining Operation that the state cannot garuntee their jobs if they do not attend their places of bussiness or carry out their jobs to a standard less than that required.
