Great Matean Associated Press - 15 May
In surprising turn of events, GMI Chief Production Officer Jim McGrath announced that the government owned corporation would begin aggressively pursuing the acquisition of a fellow Fortune 20 corporation.
"We've been having very inconsistant sales recently," says McGrath, "Assimilating another successful corporation is the best way to compensate for this, as it will increase both our available tech and expand our customer base. While we don't doubt for a second that such an acquisition will be incredibly expensive, it will pay off in the long run."
Great Matean Industries, originally created to serve as the domestic weapons manufacturing department of the GM government, has been struggling to maintain high sales levels since the emergence of GM from its 4 year isolationist period. April to May revenue totaled only $40 billion after approximate sales totals of $500 billion in March. Many analysts see this as the effect of the loss of credibility and economic influence that occurred when GM suddenly entered its isolationist period. Since reopening its doors to the foreign market, GMI has failed to attract large numbers of high profile customers, and, until recently, has been unable to distinguish itself from other storefronts based on technology.
OOC:
Basically, I'm attempting to restore GMI to the powerhouse it was before I stopped playing NS for 3 or 4 months during the winter. GM has a foreign affairs budget measured in the trillions that I rarely ever touch, so any nation that comes forward will be handsomely rewarded. The acquisition of the corporation will, of course, include production rights of all technology the corporation is responsible for. If you are the owner of one of these corporations:

and are even slightly interested, please telegram me or send me a message on AIM (Battousai 0000) or MSN (slash6924@msn.com).
