Sarzonia
17-05-2004, 00:03
The Incorporated Navy of Sarzonia is pleased to announce that it has just commissioned two cruisers, both of which are first-in-class. The new ships will be the Alliance-class heavy cruiser and the Randolph-class light cruiser.
[OOC: As I mentioned when the ships were in their planning stages, I'm well aware that they're really pocket battleships and heavy cruisers, respectively. But they're heavy- and light-cruisers in Sarzonian designation.]
The Alliance-class is named to honor the great alliances we have, particularly our close relationship with the United Kingdom of Isselmere-Nieland. [OOC: It is also named after the Revolutionary War frigate that remained in service for a couple of years after the Revolutionary War.]
The Randolph-class is named to honor the great American frigate that valiantly battled a ship of the line during the [RL] Revolutionary War.
