In Kuwait City, in The Arab Republic of Saddaam...

The crowd - 34'000 strong - look on in awe as Andrey Zaitzev Nikolay’ch steps up to the podium, just in front of the huge dry dock that has been under a very large cover for the past 18 years. The presence, by now, has just gone unnoticed, and the new generation have been hushed about what they think they know about what lies beneath.

“My fellow United Arabians, you are here today to witness something amazing. Something beautiful. Something the like of which has only been dreamed about. Until today! Underneath that cover lays the pride of our entire Arab union. We have been keeping this under wraps to a certain extent for your won safety.

“I now present to you all, and to the world’s television companies – The Arab Republican Ship United Arabia.”

As Andrey finishes his sentence, the massive aluminium cover is separated into 8 plates and falls off the top of the dry dock into the waters surrounding it.

The crowd gasp in shock as they see the beauty that is the United Arabia. The multi-deck Aircraft Carrier and Missile Frigate shines in all its glory, the main 32” guns swivel and elevate to 90 degrees upwards.

Boom!

The main guns fire, releasing ridiculous amounts of fireworks into the air. Technicians all around the dock smile and feel proud as they know that that particular stunt had taken a very long time in preparation.

Then, in almost perfect sequence, all 18 other guns fire blank rounds in precedence to raucous applause by the audience.

The next amazing capability of the United Arabia is its ridiculous carrier capability, shown off by the 24 Fighter jets pouring out of each deck. The missile tubes, located aft, then release about 35 mahoosive firework pods, which light up the sky like nothing ever before it.

“She is beautiful, isn’t she?” Andrey Continues, “She can hold up to...well, I will actually leave this bit for you to explain to yourself…”

Murmurs in the crowd begin as bubbles are seen just aft of the back of the united Arabia, seconds later, 4 Virginia class submarines surface and are towed into the back of a huge door on the back of the ship, which seems to be a submarine dock of sorts, that can’t be right, can it? A submarine dock on a mobile ship?

“The United Arabia is one hell of a machine. Without escort, she can provide the force of an entire reasonable carrier group, what with carrier, missile, anti-air, anti-sub, anti-missile, refuelling, supplying and with guns only rivalled, so far, by that of the DN Doujin.

“United Arabian workers have been working on this ship for over a decade. Each one has now been given a large home in the capital of their home nation, with $250’000 Arab dollars in the bank. This is what being a true Arab is! With the massive naval expansion going on my nation, Bree Tonia, with this as another symbol of what we really stand for. I hope that many of you, be you workers or technicians or leaders of a corporate business, fell pride for your region. Thank you, the ARS United Arabia will now be launched”

The holds on the side and bottom of the ship click off, and she slides backwards into the waters of the gulf, surrounded now by an entire task force, ready for testing manoeuvres in the gulf. Water crashes over the decks of the corvettes around it and, incidentally, wakes up a sleeping fish school that aren’t too amused by the event.

Dictator Zaitzev of the Armed Republic of Bree Tonia then steps down from the podium to board the ship himself and see what it looks like on the inside.

“As project leader of this amazing spectacle, I now invite delegations from all willing countries to board the ship and feel what its like while it takes its first few movements into the gulf. The ship will be anchored here for twelve days, you have that much time to decide whether to attend or not, and then, comrades, she sets sail!” Says Ukbhar Al-Ikray, the project leader for the ARS United Arabia.

OOC: Nice, I assume its a trimiran?

OOC: Naw, its a flatbed, to take all the weight, as it ways a fair bit :) I considered all types of hull, but thought that Trimaran was Doujin and Freethinker-stylee, catamaran hulls wouldnt take it, and conventional hulls would just shred themselves with this kind of ship. And before anyone says anything about how a pilot cant land and take-off through a deck, these decks are rather tall, I am uploading the pics tomorrow at the town library scanner, so you will all see its glory then.

OOC: Good god that thing must be massive!!!

OOC: Ain't it just? You'll be scared to know that the production team did some maths and realized that if we knocked off the superstructure we could land a 747 on top, although not take it off unfortunatly!

Just another point, why so many different sizes of main armament?
Bree Tonia

Because there is many different turrets, with some designated AA, some AS and some AM.

May I just say that the entire region is proud to have such an advanced development team with us, especially one that communicates, listens, goes forth and does what they say they will. As always it seems that our region has something to celebrate.

OOC: Cheers Bree Tonia for putting all the stats together. Glad we finally launched it too!
