Today 4 soldiers, members of the 5th Battalion, Light Infantry, where shot and killed in a unnamed pub located in the town of Brent (North-west WintreEs).
Also, a checkpoint near the military base in the town was hit by 2 RPGs fired from concealed positions. A firefight started outside of the central bank killing 2 soldiers and injurying several civilians and 2 police officers were killed in a country-side police station.
The town had always been the centre of violent anti-unionists, wanting Brent to become a separate country from the rest of wintrees, at one point destroying most of itself in a "local" civil war.
After this civil war some 50 years ago, the Wintrees's Defense Forces had always kept at least a Brigade in the town, currently its the 7th Light Infantry Brigade.
Due to the events, the Brigade had been put on full alert, roadblocks have been set up and security forces have been arresting suspected anti-unionist and the 17th Parachute Infantry Brigade and the 11th Special Operations Brigade have started to be deployed to the area.
It is thought that this is the start of another anti-unionist movement, and the Defence forces wish to crush it before it becomes a larger problem.
