Kuwait

We are back in Kuwait, almost similar compared to what happened in 2003, Most of our forces were forced out of Baghdad once the Scorpion tanks and T-72’s arrived. That was all the way back in 2021, it is 2025 now. The war in Iraq was thought to be a small and easy battle for the AZ, but it turned out to be one of the largest AZ military efforts ever, Our job is to get into Iraq and find out what is going on, and stop it to end these past twenty two years of war and casualties.

We arrived in Kuwait on March 14th everyone was very eager, troops and tanks were on the stand by at all times, every now and then we would see planes taking off heading across the border but never coming back, it made a sick feeling sit in my stomach. Living in Kuwait wasn’t bad at all; I was in Kuwait for nearly three months, always curious when we would go into Iraq, no one was ever too happy.

Then on June 18th we were told to slowly cross the border for a night raid our goal was to penetrate Iraq’s border and get in twenty to thirty miles within and get a hold on some land with assistance of MLRS’s and armored troop movers. Everyone was shocked, most of the infantry division thought it would just be a stand off and they would be leaving but they were wrong, we were moving in.

As soon as we headed across the border there was mortar raining all over, we walked in a single line so it was harder for the mortar to hit us, every now and then I would feel pieces of shrapnel hit off my helmet, the general was constantly urging us on, “Go you maggots!” he yelled several troops were injured my shrapnel, it made me wonder, was I next? The emergency hum-vee’s immediately picked them up and were sent right back to Kuwait.

The night raid was stopped to a halt; we made it thirty miles within the Iraqi border. The goal wasn’t to see what was causing the up rise of Iraq, now it was invading it, as we saw hundreds of tanks come over the hill at sunrise all we could say is oh no, We are invading Iraq again.

6:32- June 19th

Thirty miles within Baghdad

The whole division, which consisted in the thousands, was completely shocked, there wasn’t supposed to be any tank assistance, but now there was, the infantry division started to get angry. The tanks moved in and greeted everyone. There still was constant artillery falling on our position the Paladin tanks usually took the artillery out though with a bright laser beam and a zap which was heard from a mile away

Later that night to the shock of everyone, the president declared war on Iraq once again. Hours away from the address from the president came a convoy of supply trucks and even more tanks and support vehicles. Planes rushed over us with a load sonic boom, we would see a large explosion ahead of us and then a plane with a streak of fire and smoke behind it and another explosion.

Over radio’s we would get POW warnings all the time from downed planes. Two days into the war and we had five planes down already, but at least they were striking the target. Later that day we moved into several small villages some greeted us, and others greeted us with RPG’s and even more mortar, we were to far away from Kuwait now to send back any soldiers that were injured so we had to make our own little shanty towns of tents to take care of them.

Out of no where “MIG’s” the general screamed, not as good or efficient as China’s MIG’s but they still packed a punch loaded with bombs, the aircraft dropped bombs onto our supply lines and bridges. This made traveling a lot harder and not knowing what was up the road.

After several MIG attacks our own aircraft bombed Iraqi airfields, destroying most of the MIG’s that were on satellite imagery, Eventually we captured an enemy airfield on a night time raid. We called in the C-130’s for a supply drop, they eventually came and so did paratroopers. This night raid was successful.

Later that night a sand storm occurred, It gave the Iraqis a good shot at attacking the AZ lines of offence and our supply lines, I turned on my night vision goggles and told the artillery to shoot due north, I see hundreds of troops moving toward our location, The shells were hitting them, men went onto there tanks machine guns, it was like a light show, explosions every where machine gun tracers every where but luckily no one was hurt we were all alive, but then I squinted in my night vision goggles and screamed “Tanks” That was only the first wave.

10:45- June 28th

Near Tikrit

Several Scorpion tanks came into our camp with a white flag, The scorpion messenger was from a man named Samal Loghiden, Samal requests American forces to retreat before a major attack occurs, if they do not retreat completely by July 1st, a SCUD will be launched upon various European nations containing American embassies.

The general just laughed and ordered the oncoming tanks to all be destroyed, with a roar of artillery an amazing explosion occurred just a couple hundred yards away, the ground shook and metal debris was everywhere.

The general phoned CIA telling them to look up any information on Samal Loghiden. Samal apparently is the new leader of Iraq, so we must take him out said the general, but the bad part was we didn’t even know what he looked like. More tanks moved up over the horizon, which meant more artillery, every now and then some scorpion would make it through but our crusaders would just blow the turrets off.

I called in close air support, luckily some A-10’s where in the area, and they took out six enemy tanks. More tanks kept coming, by now infantry rushes where common with the tanks, some rebels would play dead, when you walked by them they would jump up and fire there AK’s at you. Several infantry were shot down by rebels now, suicide bombers also played a big role in the attacks, they would run up to tanks and detonate, causing major damage to tanks. After weeks of fighting and staying in the area for weeks, we finally got the call to move forward, our next objective was Tikrit. The old Iraqi dictators home town, Several times units would cross a bridge and it would be remotely detonated by C4 planted underneath the bridge tanks would plunge into canals, I saw three supply trucks fall in all carrying ammunition, the bridge would explode right under one of the trucks causing the ammunition to ignite causing a humongous explosion.

Eventually we arrived in Tikrit, RPG’s fired through civilian buildings ripping our tanks apart, several Chinooks flew over dropping infantry on roof tops, giving the infantry an advantage, we found out that they were actually marines. More air raids came, this time hitting farm houses to the west of Tikrit. Most of Tikrit was captured; the tank force moved out towards the desert to stop any on coming attacks from the city, the infantry units stayed though.
Then later that night I was sleeping and major explosions were occurring, I looked out my armored transport and several tanks were on fire and destroyed, “Artillery” I yelled. The Paladins couldn’t do a thing, close air support was called in, Comanche’s hovered over us and shot several rocket barrages at the oncoming artillery. We moved forward, taking out tanks and infantry, RPG fire came from civilian buildings, and Chinook was shot at and crashed into a supply line. Sirens were going off everywhere.

An Iraqi radio transmission came in that we intercepted telling Jamal to retreat Baghdad, right after the transmission, our general said were heading for Baghdad men!

June 30th- Days before Iraqi Deadline

Instead of stopping at individual towns, we were driving strait through, our reinforcements and backup would clear any other resistance, Mortar rained from the sky, knocking several men to the ground, Radio transmissions were coming in saying that the second biggest town I Iraq has fallen, British troops have successfully captured the city.

We rushed through the desert like mad men, artillery flying over us and hitting backup units, we were closing in on Baghdad and it was going to be a hard battle, all enemy tanks were pulling out of other towns and city’s to go to Baghdad for the final fight. We couldn’t get an air strike onto the city because it was so guarded we AA guns.
We now stopped to hold onto the land we worked so hard for. We stayed there for a week or so, Aircraft loosened up Baghdad’s defenses, and satellite images showed huge amounts of enemy tanks in and around Baghdad, they were along highway 8 even on the airfields, they were everywhere.

It is now July 1st the dead line is here, nothing happened it must have been all a lie to scare American forces. We moved with thirty miles of Baghdad, we called in artillery to help us out, within two hours; mobile patriot missile systems and MLR’s were right beside us, “Fire!” the general yelled artillery would be raining on Baghdad soon enough.

We couldn’t help that there would be civilian casualties, but you must do what you must do.
At five AM radio transmissions said Germany, France, and Britain all were hit by SCUDS, the news was told to everyone. The president even thought of using a tactical nuclear bomb to weaken Baghdad but it couldn’t be done, instead our forces were to be going strait into the city in the morning.

July 3rd

Closing in on Baghdad

More tanks and units arrived, we were still waiting for the main attack, all of our tanks got ready and led us all in as the artillery fired away at Baghdad still. We were driving for several hours this was our biggest mission yet, A-10’s would fly over and destroy any enemy tank near the brigade, We could tell we were getting closer to the capitol because there were more defenses and we could start to hear our own artillery.
Artillery from the enemy was worse than ever, suicide bombers came from all sides and to make things worse stinger site were set up on various hills, five tanks were destroyed all ready, then a suicide bomber ran towards my tank, and a huge explosion occurred, I was flung from my tank and was unconscious.
I was just left there, all my crew mates except for one was still alive, his name John, me and John grabbed any guns we could find which was all AK-47’s we found tons of ammunition.
We carried as much as possible; we finally arrived at a town. We went totally off trail, we went eastwards just trying to find another American but no luck immediately entering the town we were shot at we ran into a civilian building and shot out the window, killing several Iraqis. We had to find a way to contact someone, we fought from building to building killing a total of eleven Iraqis finally we found a radio transmitter that we could signal someone with. We were in contact with the marines; they said a Comanche would be right over escorting a Chinook.
It took several hours for it to arrive, but the Comanche wasn’t with it when it arrived, I asked the pilot where it was, he said it was gone for good, the pilot told us he was taking us back to Kuwait for a medical check up, but we insisted we were fine, so he took us up to our brigade.
On the way to our brigade, there were scorch marks everywhere, tank pieces and human bodies laying everywhere. It was quite scary to see such a mess.
A quad cannon, which damaged its second propeller so we had to bail, shot at the Chinook, we were only a mile from the brigade. We ordered an armored transport to come get us, and within five minutes it was there picking us up.
We were finally at the foot step of Baghdad, artillery still rained but there was nothing we could do, we went onto highway 8 and the others would surround Baghdad’s airfield. Both of those locations were covered with tanks. It was thirty tanks to ten, and we had the ten but we still had an advantage. A roar of shells hit a tank that was destroyed with ease, several men in other tanks jumped out with there hands up, other tanks shot back, and we shot right back at them.
It took two days to secure highway 8, there were at least one hundred and fifty tanks, but that was just the beginning, with the highway open now, supplies could now come too.
It took only a few hours to capture the airfield several rocket soldiers and snipers went into the air field at night and rigged all the tanks with explosives, in the morning all that was left was some scorched metal.
Baghdad was surrounded, and units were heading north past Baghdad to secure other cities such as Mosul air craft assistance came in from the country of Turkey, The north is about to fall now too. All that was left was Baghdad

July20th

Baghdad

The Iraq invasion happened for the second time, finally it was successful, The holding of towns and occupying them was harder then ever, terrorist attacks were happening everyday on large scale, hospitals, schools, and embassies were all attacked twenty four seven. It seemed Baghdad always had a cloud of smoke over it since I arrived, men of Iraq weren’t much help either, we were hoping they’d help us with police patrols, but instead they would just take our guns and use them against our forces. Over twenty thousand men, women, and children died in the invasion mostly when mass executions occurred before our forces could arrive. The first military draft also occurred during the Iraqi invasion around ten thousand soldiers were sent to Iraq, the war started in 2025, and ended in 2027. But the violence didn’t stop, it actually excalated, it took five years for troops to arrive back home in 2030. Samal was never caught, a massive search was made for him and his followers, studies indicate Samal probably escaped itnto his homeland Iran, the US made threats toward Iran but no actions ever were made toward Iran, Iran was not happy about the AZ threats, a possible war between the countries is supposedly on the rise.
A massive clean up operation also occurred in Europe, Germany, France, and Britain were all hit hard from highly explosive SCUD’s Europe took action and sent thousands of troops into Iraq which greatly increased the invasion. The invasion was labeled a complete success with high civilian deaths.

July 20th

Baghdad

The fall of Baghdad wasn’t as easy as the fall of 2003: terrorists attacks were unbelievable. Troops were sent in, the first military draft in years occurred, sending in around 10,000 troops. Oil fields were secured and a massive search for Samal occurred, finally reports indicated that Samal escaped to Iran, AZ soldiers were prohibited to enter the country the
AZ could only sit back and watch terroristic attacks happen because of Samal several small attacks did occur in Iran, precision bombings were hitting rural areas destroying places where citizens couldn’t be injured, The AZ never caught up to Samal….yet.
The SCUD's was found in northern Iraq in a giant hidden underground tunnel, it was also destroyed four days after it discovery. The AZ troops eventually did leave Iraq, some were there all the way from 2003 not returning home until all troops were sent back in 2007
