The Rise of New Lands

15-05-2004, 04:07
There comes a time when the aged powers of the world, led by foolish men given their nations by inheritance--without true knowledge or control of them, must give birth to new lands. And though these new lands may not have power nor arsenal, strength nor wisdom... they have but one thing, the same thing which gave power to the Empires before them, and likewise may give it to them...they have the potential. The potential to be whatever they wish to be. And as they all have such potential, there is simply one thing which separates most of these new lands from the powers before...and that key is the desire...the desire to take advantage of their potential and be...not simply great, but greater than all before. Many dream of such power, but few realize the key to such, and it is these few with the desire that have the ability to ignite their potential. I, myself, leader of my lands yet with little power outside of them, am but a peon amongst the great...we are all peons, or most of us in any case, are we not? But think...those nations, the powers now and the ones before them, were they not all, at one time or another, peons themselves? Indeed they were, and thus...with our desire...our potential hath ignited.

Let me clarify something before I continue; I do not ask you to submit unto me--to give me what little power you have in hopes of becoming great, fellow brothers--because I do not hope of becoming great, and so I will not ask you to either. Dreams are foolish ideals--the same sort of foolish ideals of those who are powers and claim to strive for peace--when the same power which they wield was earned with the blood of the young and old...of woman and child. Such hypocritical actions scar their words, stab deep beneath the skin for us young children...they suppress us...they maintain the existing power system by leaving those who are great unchallenged in "peace." And so likewise, I do not ask you to foolishly dream, but to be realistic...because in our lives, it is the realism which abides over us, and the ideals which forever leave us weak and unsatisfied (ideals are dead once achieved, realities remain forever).

My brothers, peons as we are, I simply ask you to listen to me--understand me. Does what I speak not make sense? Do we not all have the potential? Indeed we do, we are no different than those before us... cherish these words, and become enlightened. And if you are so inspired, then continue to converse with a weak man such as I... Think!... I beg of you, think infinitely into the night, and tell me what you so desire. Think and realize, gain knowledge and teach yourself...Because it is in you and I which the potential lies...
Let us now capture such true desire,
and if you so wish, together,
we shall rebuild the ancient spire!

I call to you fellow brothers...I call to you,...nay, not to destroy...but to create...to give birth unto ourselves...so that we may one day awaken...as that which WE desire!

-Rohan, leader of the young borderlands of Anirudh...center of nothing, controller of nothing, overseer of nothing, master of nothing...nothing save Desire and Potential...common within us all...
