In a recent discussion with several international diplomats, Alexander Rhodes declared he was considering hiring 200,000 foreign mercenaries to enter into FWS to crush the strikes and bring the armed forces and police into line.
The issue was raised of how 200,000 foreign mercenaries could possibly "bring into line" a profession well trained and experienced army numbering about 650,000 soldiers and a reserve / militia force of approximately 1,500,000. Also the police forces are approximately 100,000.
After he spoke with group of about 10 of his generals however he quickly retracted his earlier statement as "poorly worded and inappropriate".
Alexander Rhodes just recently became the president of the FWS but already it seems most think he will be a failure due largely to the refusal of about 98% of the population to accept the exile of ex-president Hendrik Rhodes.
The strikes are still going strong and the numbers on strike have risen to approximately 3.25 million.
Corporations, Generals, and Banks have said they will pay workers who are on strike because in the word's of one Banking CEO, "It is so important that we break this government and get Hendrik back. The strikes must continue. To help them contiune, we will make .5% interest loans to any strikers who apply."
One general was quoted as saying, "I had three estates and two farms, I've sold two of my estates and one farm. I am going to use the money to pay soldiers who are on strike so they can afford food and such. We must break this government."
