Warcrimes tribunal trial moves on

Judge: Then how was the attack carried out?

Rhodes: I had signed papers granting the authority to launch biological attacks to my colonels and generals of certain units if they deemed it necessary.

Judge: Is the officer who actually made the decision to launch the biological attack in this room today? Is he amongst those charged?

Rhodes: No.

Judge: Will you please tell the court the man's name and where he can be found?

Rhodes: No.

Judge: Are you refusing to give important information to this court?

Rhodes: Yes. I cannot and will not divulge information that may be harmful to fellow brethren.

Judge: Brethren? Are you speaking of the Teutonic Knight Order?

Rhodes: There is no such order. I don't know what you're talking about.

Judge: Well I don't think we're going to get anything from you about this mystery knights group. So allow us to move on. Please detail the FWS and its relations to the West Provinces and the later union of black provinces.

Rhodes: Well as you know, our nation has two racial groups, white and black. And the blacks have many different tribes, they often fight each other.

As evidenced in the Coastal Tribal v Western Tribal war. Well the blacks all live in the western part of the FWS, they had 40 million people living in 5 provinces, two of which are Coastal Province and Western Province.

Prior to the 7-day civil war, all provinces, black and white were under the direct control of the FWS government.

After the war, we created the Puppet government known as the Black Tribal Council and we united all the black provinces into the "Union of Black Provinces".

The new nation was deemed "Nominally independent" but our FWS government essentially still controlled it.

Then came the Coastal Tribal v Western Tribal war where the Coastal were trying to break away from the Union Of Black Provinces.

We backed our puppets (The council). After all, we had great economic interests in the UOBP, and we couldn't have any part of that union breaking away and taking their mines with them.

After our involvement in the tribal war ended... Basically, the Union Of Black Provinces is no longer a viable political entity anymore, and it is highly likely that the 5 black provinces will erupt into civil war. Although it is also likely that 4 of the provinces, the ones where the majority are ethnic Western Tribals will form a new nation. While Coastal Province forms a nation for their majority ethnic Coastals. It is likely that they will remain in war due to the fact that there are large minorities of each tribe in each province. And these will attempt to be annexed into the nation where their group is the majority. The Border region near Western Province and Coastal Province will be awful.

Judge: Thank you for that enlightening and detailed explanation. I have a question for you. Do you think the FWS will ever again enter into the black territories on their own initiative?

Rhodes: No. I predict that the FWS army will never enter any territory from now on unless they are specifically requested by the legitimately elected government to do so.

Judge: Thank you. You have been most helpful in helping us to understand the delicate politics of the FWS, the UOBP, the tribal council, and many other things. A few more questions.

Rhodes: Certainly.

Judge: To your knowledge does your nation still have biological or chemical weapons?

Rhodes: No, they were all turned over before I was brought here to this trial. That was essentially my last act as president, to turn over the WMDs

Judge: Does your nation still posses the capability to make Chemical or biological weapons.

Rhodes: It is quite possible due to the nature of the chemicals and biological agents. Many of our industrial facilities use the same chemicals that when properly mixed in the right ratio can produce weapons. But no, we no longer have facilities where the primary purpose is WMD production. We do however still use some chemicals that might be made into weapons in various industrial and commercial applications.

Judge: That would seem reasonable. Thank you. A few more questions.

Judge: How do you explain the camps in your nation?

Rhodes: I ordered the communists dealt with, I never knew how they were dealt with. I hope you can believe that.

Judge: You never asked your officers what was happening with the political prisoners that were being arrested.

Rhodes: I didn't feel a need to; I thought they all knew what was acceptable. Obviously, I should have been clearer.

Judge: Thank you, you may go.

Rhodes gets up and walks back to his cell.
