Earlier today, Moozimoo announced the start of it's new "Nuke the Nukes" intiative, which aims to eliminate or signaficantly reduce the number of nuclear weapons in the world today. They hope other countries will join them in this "quest" to make the world a better place. We hope to achieve disarmament by persuading countries that nukes are not the answer.

Indeed. We are currently downsizing our nuclear arsenal from approximately 10,000 5 megaton ICBM warheads to approximately 500. Much of our inventory of suitcase nukes are also going to be recycled.

OOC: Of course, our nukes in use for our Space (future) forces will be retained, but those can only be fired from special launchers that are quite completely future tech. So all you modern nations don't have to worry as much about my insanity when it comes to nuclear annhilation.

We hope to achieve disarmament by persuading countries that nukes are not the answer.

If 'nukes' are not the answer, then what is? Possession of these weapons can encourage stability among nations, and provides a significant incentive for world leaders to sort their differences with negotiation and cooperation, opposed to war and destruction.

You may choose to focus on the negative aspect of this powerful device; however, there is more to been seen of its use.

Knowing that a random act of nuclear proliferation would be met in kind our government doesn't have any nuclear weapons. We instead rely on conventional tactics and failing that a plea to the nations who have more nukes then we could ever afford.

I agree, the nuclear deterrent (sp?) can be a good thing, it depends on your way of thinking. It can prevent wars (for example RL america would no doubt be at war with N Korea and Israel, If it weren't for their Nuclear weapons - but is that a good thng), but some nations want to use them. I think the best way to deter a nation from attacking you is to invest in modern technology and effective training of your armed forces. Thank you for supporting our programme, however

As my post said - I have no nukes. I personnally can call on allies with nuclear weapons to do the detering for me. However, though it will possibly create a new breed of super power that is extremely arrogant, I say an organisation that holds the power of all nukes could be the way to go.

The Republic of Turd Furguson feels that nuclear weopons are necessary to our growth as politically and militarily prominent nation, we feel that a very small amount, possibly even just one warhead are all that are necessary. Presently we are moving forward in the research of these weopons and weighing all viable ways of constructing our own. I say this with assurances to all nations that our secrets will remain our own and no proliferation will occur.

Also on our agenda is the creation is the creation of a nuclear missile defense system, with plans to disburse.

Wahoo! You may be pleased to know that Demo-Bobylon has a secure base where nuclear, chemical and biological weapons can eb safely dismantled - the Acras Station, in the mountains of the north. Business at cheap prices welcome.

I intend on keeping ALL of my nuclear weapons. No-one will be able to take them away either. It is the right of every nation to have whatever weapons they please.

yes. please not this is not a war against nations with nuclear weapons, just a group of like minded nations, trying to persuade the others.

We refuse to liquidate our 5,000 Nukes.

Though Lindim is a young nation it does not plan to develope any WMD's; it will conduct nuclear energy research.

We have enough large, nuclear-powered allies to protect us anyways.

We refuse to liquidate our 5,000 Nukes.

I wish people would stop saying things like this. We are not forcing you to destroy them, but if you care about the world and the well-being of the people in it, you will at least get rid of some.

I mean, when are you ever going to use 5000 nukes? 1000 would be enought to wipe out every single living thing* on this planet. Please get rid of some.

I hold 80,000 Assorted Unconventional Missiles.

HOWEVER

They are rotting in old Hogsweat. They are not mantained and will soon degrade. I have only 10,000 In current use.

I ask Moozimoo, with all kindness, to lend me money and help to disarm these rotting nukes.
Kanuckistan

The Dominion of Kanuckistan will not be reducing it's nuclear stockpile; they are far too important to maintaining effective force projection.

However, radioisotope decay in our superclean 'subnuke' stockpile( 0.1-5 kiloton tactical yeilds) will mean that a large number of warheads will, soon, no longer meet our strict fallout-minimization guildlines, tho nevertheless remain amoung the cleanest fission weapons on the planet.

As a result, they'll have to be replaced; presently, it's expected that they will be reconditioned and sold off on the cheap to help pay for warhead replacment. Any who with to purchase the fissionible cores for desposal will be welcome to do so at this time.

The Continental Empire is cutting but advancing it nuclear weaponary. This means slashing the number of nuclear warheads by 55% and the remaining arsenal will be advanced so they be used on state-of-the-art ICBMs and REBs.

Found my old thread:

The UN has prohibited all chemical and biological weapons.
Do YOU have stockpiles you need to be rid off?
Want confidential, secure disablement of weapons?
Then YOU want the Acras Decommissioning Station, northern Demo-Bobylon. 150 staff by day, 80 by night, and always 50 guards on duty. Able to process 3000 tons of weaponry per month, making the world safer. Strict rules on protective suits. UN suggested price for decommissioning: £125 per 1kg. Our price: Just £100.
Russia had 40,000 tons!
America 30,000!
Make your country safe with Acras! Open for orders.
(Prices based on RL. Security now increased to 180 guards stationed there).

We in the GDMO agree that nuclear weapons present a significant danger to the world. We also agree that nuclear weapons serve as very good deterrents of war. In aims of preventing nuclear annihilation, we would be honored to join this initiative.

Having said that, we feel that the intentions of such a group should not be the elimination of nuclear weapons, but the reduction of them. The GDMO had not too long ago successfully detonated a nuclear weapon in tests. Our stockpile stands at 15 nuclear warheads contained in ICBM's. We do not plan on increasing this number, nor ever will these be launched. This is enough of a nuclear deterrent.

Also, because countries are still allowed to have nukes, there should be planned some sort of nuclear defense program. Perhaps this can be available for all members of this initiative.

If this initiative ever evolves into a treaty, there should be some provision for mutual nuclear non-aggression between the undersigned, as well as a limit to the number of nuclear weapons allowed.

The main concern in today's world should not be of massive nuclear attacks launched from a country but of sporadic attacks by terrorist groups. This is the new face of nuclear war. Until we eliminate terrorism, nuclear destruction will always be a danger.
