News coming in from the FWS is that President Rhodes has just made an announcement that FWS forces have entered into the "Disputed Zone". That is about roughly 1/3 of Western Province, the portion that is along the border with White Western Province. The blacks claimed the majority of White Western Province and the Whites claimed a large part of Western Province. Approximately 30,000 white settlers were already living in the Disputed Zone; they are commonly called the "Squatters".
The President has announced this is part of his peace plan. Already Para commandos have parachuted in and are securing the disputed zone, which is to be fortified with bunkers and mines. The local officials and town councils unanimously approved the annexation into the FWS. Settlers celebrated by firing off weapons and waving FWS flags. Crowds were seen holding flags and pictures of President Rhodes.
The President has also declared that the black provinces are now largely on their own, in his words "They may form their own provincial governments, and they may consider themselves a semi-independent member of our commonwealth. But let them be warned, they are not to pursue secession. Also, we are to be left alone, any attack against any citizen of the FWS will be met with swift counter-attack".
The President has also declared that no foreign armed forces will be permitted in either the FWS or the newly created Union Of Black Provinces, as the new republic is being called. In his words "There are to be no foreign meddlers in our affairs. We can largely solve our own problems."
However that didn't stop him from approving a plan to allow 100,000 peacekeepers from "The Dominion of Unified Sith" to be stationed along the border between the newly annexed disputed zone and the western province, and some even stationed inside the city of West Victoria and other parts of the newly created Union of Black Provinces.
A top general in the FWS army was quoted as saying "The Sith Peacekeepers will be helping with disarmament of black militant groups. Clearly the blacks would prefer to be disarmed, but they don't want to deal with us, and we're really sick of them shooting RPGs at us, so it's for the best that a trusted nation carryout the disarmament plan."
