On a brisk summer afternoon, Emperor Sutton sat inside his office in the Credonian Imperial Palace with his father discussing plans to improve Credonia and its image. After weeks and weeks of pursuasion, Kaimoni finally drilled the point into Alexanders mind that since he yields unparalled amounts of power within Credonia, his actions are more prone to be scrutinized by the international community, and that by becoming an empire, whether he took nations by force or not, he would be considered an imperialist ruler, and the nation woud be falsly classified as imperialistic.
After thinking long and hard, Alexander decided to give a speech before the Credonian people.
Speech To The Credonian People And The World
"My fellow Credonians, I come before you tonight to announce a new change in Credonia, and in the Credonian government. Since i seized power some many years ago, Credonia has been a changed nation. It has been viewed negativly, and my actions prior to the new doctrinal changes I announced last week were not helping Credonia's reputation. In the best interest of the Credonian people, I feel that a democratic dictatorship is not the best form of government for our nation. Therefore, as of today, I am recalling the congressional body back into session. Once the bi-cameral congress returns to capital hill, I will immediately surrender all powers seized when I took to power. In addition, I will change the title of leadership from Emperor to President to follow suit with the new form of government. This transfer of government will be quick, and will not affect the everyday operations of this nation.
To the Credonians who have suffered due to my past actions, I am truly and deeply sorry and ashamed for what I have done in the past, and will make certain that it will never happen again. I am working to create a stronger, safer, better Credonia, one in which the people will be proud to be a citizen of, one in which her allies can be proud to be allied to, in one in which the international community may be glad that Credonia is part of that community of world nations working for peace, love, and prosperity of all people around the globe. Thank you and God bless you all."
