Over the weekend the Free Republic of Ilek-Vaad celebrated the birth of it's 3 billionoth citizen at the King's Park Medical Center in Coventry. The phenominal population growth has been attributed to open door immigration policies for refugees and a strong free market economy. The Free Republic boasts citizens of just about every race known.
The economy has grown with the population at a steady 6.7% rate and unemployment stays well below 1%. The only problem that companies face in Ilek-Vaad is a shortage of workers. Strong unions and educational systems ensure that workers are well trained and that they make good wages. The average income of a worker in Ilek-Vaad is an amazing 21,067.64 DR (1 DR=1.81 USD) and most companies boast an amazing 2.2% turn over rate, with workers often at the same companies for an average of 10-15 years.
The Republican Council's recent tax breaks have meant more money for the average citizen and the government still projects over a 4 trillion DR surplus at the end of this fiscal year.
