Doujin attacks Feazanthia

Doujin

In a sudden move, the Doujin Military Command ordered the move of the Second, Third, and Fourth Assault fleets to Feazanthian waters. If any Feazanthian ship intervenes, all out war will be declared.

While not inclined to wage war on its former ally of Feazanthia, Zoogiedom has already delegated five fleets to the area to oversee the situation and respond quickly if the need arises.

In an announcement to the world, Emperor Miller said this.

"Feazanthia has threatened Doujinshi Holdings in his nation. Along with that, Feazanthia threatened world stability with his almost nuclear attack on the polar ice caps. His government has proved and is continueing to prove that it is unstable in all it's decisions, and obviously cannot make a proper one. It goes to the extremes to tryt and get it's point across, to try and coerce nations into doing things that Feazanthia wants them to do. Such a government is a danger to the world and for Doujini national safety. Such a government must be removed. And will be.

Moments ago, I ordered all Doujin ships to storm Feazanthia, take control of her shipyards, and to open fire on naval vessels. The Feazanthian move of ships to try and resist the blockade by Zoogie has been taken as a hostile act to Zoogie and her allies, and through that we are also going to declare a state of open warfare with Feazanthia. Doujin infantry already at Xylion Shipyards are setting up a forward attack base for the Doujin Military, and Doujin ships are begining to bombard Feazanthian military positions. Through this endeavor, Doujin will maintain strict code of warfare, so as to keep civilian casualties to a minimum.

Emperor Maxwel Miller,
Empire of Doujin

The Fleets in Feazanthian water and entering Feazanthian water got into position to hold a blockade and begin coastal bombardment of all military positions. Aircraft would be flown overhead civilian areas as to make sure that no civilians are injured in these attacks. Hospital ships are on standby incase any civilian gets injured. Free medical care aboard the Doujin ships will be provided.

The following is a message from Commander Feaz C. Macleod

"This invasion by the empire of Doujin is unneeded and further proof that the Empire is merely trying to rid itself of all potential competitors. Earlier this week, far before the Doujin fleet's moving, I ordered the said task force back. Though we have not recieved word from our subs, I am sure they are following my orders to the letter.

In regards to the Doujinshi Corporation's holdings being threatened, these claims are prepostorous. Xylion is the largest industry in the nation, and any threat to it would cripple our own economy in unimaginable ways.

However, should the Doujin Empire continue this illegal invasion, the entirety of Feazanthia is prepared to repel it. All three of our fleets are currently in position around the main island to combat the Doujin fleet, along with our entire air force and shore batteries. Our infantry and armor have been instructed to fortify themselves in the urban and military centers.

Feazanthia calls upon her allies to aid her in this time of conflict. If we have to give our lives to these bastards, we shall give them HELL before we do!"

The ARSB will support Doujin's actions in this matter and can offer any support necessary including military support such as assisting in airborne operations or suppression of enemy air forces and defences...
Doujin
11-05-2004, 19:53
Doujin would like to note that seizing a series of shiypards and having them continue production except it being now in control of the government would not extremely hurt an industry or your economy.

There are several nations currently constructing a rival or rivals to the Doujin Class Super Dreadnought. Have we taken any action against them? No, in fact we went so far as to AID them in their construction! We are not worried about rivals being made.

ARSB, Doujin thanks you for your support and would gladly accept military support, in the form of suppressing enemy air forces and defences. The unstable Feazanthian government will be toppled, and a new one put in place by the people of Feazanthia.

WestUkraine will support it's ally Doujin in this matter, both militarily and politically. WestUkraine is mobilizing it's forces and will have infantry within the area for Doujin to utilize as soon as possible. Such a government who threatens the world as Feazanthia has must not be allowed to stay in power.

Emperor Maxwell Miller,
Emperor of Doujin

The Incorporated States of Sarzonia hereby announces that we intend to monitor the situation in Feazanthia and protect Sarzonia's interests. I have directed Commodore Marcus Patinkin to set sail for an area in neutral waters close to Feazanthia to begin this monitoring. Any interference by any of the countries directly involved in this escalating situation will be dealt with accordingly.

Let me emphaize that we intend to remain neutral in this conflict unless our hand is forced by any of the potential combatants. I also order any Sarzonian merchant ships to avoid the region.

Terrence A. Wilson
Vice President for Defense
Incorporated States of Sarzonia

[OOC: The ships that are heading to Feazanathia include one Vengeance-class carriers, two medium-sized carriers, two Yamato-equivalent battleships, three Iowa-class battleships, 5 Province-class cruisers, 5 [i]County-class air defense destroyers, 5 City-class general purpose destroyers, 10 Furtive-class frigates, 15 River-class corvettes, eight Galaxy-class attack submarines, and three ballistic missile submarines, plus various support ships. Total of close to 100 ships. The Vengeance-class carrier has launched a set of fighters to escort the Sarzonian fleet.

6 EM-150 Amphibious assault ships

Numerous supply, fuel, and armament vessels as well as light patrol vessels.

The total combat air wing (not including helicopters) of all (five) aircraft carriers in the fleet come to:

72 EA-135C
100 DP-02A Multi-role fighters
128 F-57A Molniya Air superiority fighters
50 DP-21B Interceptors/EW
50 DP-21G /EW
6 CL-19 Airborne radar aircraft
9 CL-17 airborne refueling tankers

Total aircraft- 415

We have also sent along 3000 ARSB marines, 150 ST-11 NGBTs, 60 FCT-17 naval vessels, 110 SIV-21s, 140 MMPWVs, and 40 SAH-17 attack helicopters in case the need arises for ground forces.

The ARSB leadership, is also considering on sending one or two expeditionary fleets which would add about another one hundred aircraft and about forty ships to the forces deployed.

The ARSB is also contemplating on sending the Chlevenkov II, a Premier-class Super-Carrier, which alone would add another 150 aircraft (unless set up to allow for a massive paratroop assault force, then it could sustaint thirty combat aircraft, eight An-224s, 14 Cl-15 transports, 1 CL-19 AREW, 4 CL-17, and upwards of 8000 troops [not exactly sure]) to the force and would most likely stay far away from the main fleet with many ASW ships, surface combatants, and smaller carriers just to protect it.

We hope this is sufficient for the cause.

Feazanthia
12-05-2004, 00:12
This is a special report. We take you live now to Feazanthia City, where Commander Feaz Macleod is preparing to make a historic statement.

"My fellow Feazanthians, these are dark times indeed. As the foreign war machine rolls ever closer to our pristine shores, we are being forced to make decisions we would rather not make.

I admit that I was hasty in some of my decisions. These decisions were mistakes, and for these mistakes I cannot be forgiven. It is the job of the leader to do just that: provide leadership. Therefore, as of today, I am stepping down as Supreme Commander of Feazanthia. My temporary successor until an election can be held shall be Supreme Admiral James Timmothy Wallace. As a fellow Civil War veteran and veteran of numerous naval campaigns, I believe Wallace shall lead Feazanthia into a new age of prosperity. As for me, I'm looking forward to a nice retirment in the south province. Thank you."

Wallace takes the podium

"My fellow Feazanthians, it is with a heavy heart that I take up the reigns of this office. However, we shall not let this happen again! No longer shall foreign interests command policies in OUR nation! We are FEAZANTHIA! The PPRIDE of the SOUTHERN SEAS! We WILL establish ourselves as a superpower! That is why I am doubling the production speed of Project: Barbosa in Orichalon shipyards. I also send out a plea to the foreign powers who wish to make war on this peaceful nation. You have what you want, now leave us in peace. Thank you."
Granzi

The Commonwealth believes that military action should not be used so hastily. We suggest negotiations should be considered first before any armed action. Feazanthia, we do not believe your course of action is a good option. Threats to other nations will get you nowhere and will only lower your standing in the eyes of the world. Making such a public declaration will only serve to heighten the stakes, and could very well end in your defeat. To the coalition powers, Feazanthia was once an ally. Granzi does not believe such a alliance should be given up so easily. We strongly urge both sides to work things out peacefully.

Doujin has thought it over many a time before making the declaration. We do not enter conflict hastily, we have looked at our options and decided the best course of action. Unfortunatly, in this case it is war. Doujin hates war, for it is the only thing we truely fear. We don't fear nations, or weapons of mass destruction - we fear war itself. We hate using it, but it is a necessary evil. Omen Sore.

Aboard the DN Narcosis

"Sir, we are getting FLASH traffic from Command."

The First Officer walked over with the Master Chief and picked up the paper that printed out. Looking at eachother, they both walked to the safe - opened it up, and took out two snapcards. Breaking them, they read out a series of letters.

Alpha, Alpha, Bravo, Echo, Charlie, Zulu, Tango, Echo, Echo, Sahara, Bravo, Tango, Delta, Charlie, Alpha

"Message is Authentic, sir."

The First Officer agreed, saying "I concur".

Handing the message to the Admiral, he read it outloud.

"Alright boys, this is it - sound General Quarters, get the firing solutions to the gunners and prepare all weapons systems. We are firing on "Orichalon Shipyards". Load with SCRAMJet rounds, and set for optimum damage. Send the firing solution to the Polaris as well, and have a couple craft scrambled in the air so as to make sure the destruction of said shipyard. I want at least 50 aircraft in the air at any poitn in time, and aircraft on deck waiting to be deployed. We are in combat conditions, now."

"Yes, Admiral." The XO walked over to the intercom, blew a whistle and said, "*whistle blow* General Quarters, General Quarters, all men man your battlestations. This is not a drill, I repeat - this is not a drill."

The crews of the Polaris and Narcosis raced to their Battlestations, the large guns on the two Thunder Child Class Mk.2 Refit Battleships began turning slowly toward Orichalon Shipyards. Munitions were loaded, and everything was ready. All they were waiting for is the final order.

The Admiral walked to the intercom, signaled the turrets and said but three words.

"Level the bitch."

12-05-2004, 03:29
The call came in while Sarzonian President Mike Sarzo was en route to the swimming pool near Sarzo's summer residence in Townshend, Bausch, the southernmost state in Sarzonia. Sarzo fumbled for his cell phone. He knew that its ring meant that something urgent was happening.

"Sarzo." All he could do was shake his head at the news. Doujin just launched its first attack against Feazanthia. He hung up the phone and retreated toward his bedroom, where he quickly put on a suit and ran out to his private plane that was waiting to take him back to Woodstock.

"So much for a vacation, huh?" Sarzo said, turning to his aide. The trip to Townshend, originally a three week jaunt, lasted all of four days.

On the ride, Sarzo restlessly began to listen to military briefings about the situation. He reached for his phone. His secretary answered.

"Becky, get the Bat phone ready. I need to call Emperor Miller."

"But Mr. Pres---"

"Do it!"

"Yes, sir."

No sooner than the plane landed in the East Lawn of the Gray House than Sarzo took off on a dead run toward his office. As soon as he had a chance to catch his breath, he dialed the number."

"Get me Emperor Miller."

While he was waiting, his speech to the Sarzonian people ran through his head. He visualized the speech he was about to make to Parliament. One phrase kept running through his head, "Doujin is the world's greatest threat to peace."

Sarzo began to look for a way to avoid a declaration of war, particularly since the Zoogie People, a recently minted ally was among the world's powers staring down the Feazanthians, who had been a long-time friend of Sarzonia until the events that led to the Doujin mobilization began.

The wait for Miller to appear on the phone seemed interminable, but as the seconds ticked, Sarzo began to get angrier and angrier. He finally had enough and hung up the phone in disgust.

His next call was to his Vice President for Defense, Terrence Wilson.

"Terry, I think you're going to have to increase our presence over there,"

"Mike, calm down. We're already there as an observer. More ships will make us look like we're planning to be the aggressors. That's the last thing we need."

"You're right. Notify Commodore Patinkin that we need to protect our interests over there ruthlessly."

"Got it."

Just then, the phone rang.

But first, I play the DOUJIN CARD!

http://www.ucs.louisiana.edu/~lst4606/ns/Galdago/cards/doujin.png

Emperor Miller waited on the phone for the President of Sarzonia to pick up.

(Waiting on you now, I guess..)

[OOC: I was going to leave the phone caller's identity open-ended until I figured it out myself, but since you're one the phone now...]

Still seething from his attempts to contact Emperor Miller, Sarzo picked up the phone and answered it sharply, "Sarzo."

"Mike, this is Emperor Miller."

Oh greatSarzo thought to himself. Evil incarnate has just decided to grace me with his presence. This is going to be interesting.

"I would like an explantion," Sarzo said, trying his best not to betray the smouldering rage in his voice. "Why have you just opened fire on Feazanthia?"

Before Doujin's supreme ruler could respond, Sarzo nearly choked on his water. The Sarzonian embassy was just hit by one of the Doujin weapons.

"You just hit our embassy," Sarzo said, giving maximum effort to remain calm, though he was sure it wasn't working. "I warned all powers involved with this from the outset that any attack on Sarzonian interests would be dealt with accordingly. Attacking our embassy is an act of war."

While not inclined to wage war on its former ally of Feazanthia, Zoogiedom has already delegated five fleets to the area to oversee the situation and respond quickly if the need arises.

Zoogie People, just so you know, Doujin's IADF membership is currently up in the air - he hasn't registered, and a procedural motion has forced the General Assembly to re-vote on his membership. This means you are not obligated to help him.

Kisnesia, the fleets had been dispatched on my own accord before Doujin had ordered this attack. I had deployed the fleets so that I would be able to enforce a blockade of Feazanthia, if necessary, because he was threatening to nuke the polar ice caps if everyone didn't dismantle their nuclear weapons.

Not sure where that situation is right now...

[OOC: Oh, ok. I can chalk that up to over-anxious media reporting. I won't roleplay an attack on the embassy.]

"Okay, I stand corrected," Sarzo said, exhaling with a ragged breath. "I emphasize that Sarzonia maintains interests in Feazanthia and I strongly urge you to be mindful of civilian lives and of the interests of countries that are not involved in this conflict," Sarzo said.

Let's see what this sonofabitch has to say for himself, Sarzo thought. Sarzo anxiously tapped his pen on the wooden desk, waiting for Miller's response. Even though a majority of the ships that Sarzonia bought or built for the war against Holy Panooly were in mothballs, a declaration of war automatically restored the ones in Class A reserve status -- approximately 80 percent of the ships not currently in active service -- to active duty. All but six of the remaining ships were in Class B status, which meant that with about three weeks of work could bring them to active status. That would give Sarzonia a naval force of nearly 500 ships, including 30 battleships.

Miller's voice interrupted Sarzo's thoughts.

"Sarzo, Doujin wants minimal civilian damage and we will only be going after things that represent threats to Doujin and the world at large. Our first plan of attack is to eliminate the biggest threats, and then to quickly and efficiently capture the government leaders and hold emergency national elections in Feazanthia. We would, of coures, like help in setting up emergency elections so that the government could get back to normal, and we will be paying out of our pockets to rebuild anything destroyed in this conflict. After it's all over, we will withdraw and let Feazanthia get on as normal. We are not imperialistic and do not want their land, we only want to ensure world safety and the safety of current Doujin holdings which have been threatened in the past months."

Sarzo shook his head at every word Miller said into the Bat Phone. He wanted to say all kinds of things to Miller, but he realized the position he would put his country in if that happened.

"I'm sure you'll understand then that we will maintain our presence in neutral waters unless provoked," Sarzo said. "I note that you are an ally of the Zoogie People. They are also an ally of ours. I certainly don't want to run afoul of our allies," Sarzo said. "But when push comes to shove, I have to look out for the best interests of my people. Do not do anything rash."

With that, Sarzo began weighing in his mind whether or not he believed Miller's first words to him. His hand shook as he absent-mindedly raised it to run it through his brown hair. He talks a good game, Sarzo thought. Let's see if he's true to his word.

"If you are true to your word about the emergency elections, are you asking for our help running them?"

[OOC: Did you have a chance to look at the specs for the Alliance and the Randolph? If so, I'd love your feedback... what I'm going for with those ships is basically WWII-era heavy cruisers modernized like the Iowa-class battleships were. Now this throws a curveball, Sarzo thought. Then again, we can monitor the situation in Feazanthia much more effectively through cooperation with Doujin than we could if we were hostile toward them. Besides, this keeps us out of a war we don't need. Parliament's going to love that.

"Very well," Sarzo said. "We would be interested in helping to set up elections provided that no Sarzonians are harmed while we maintain our neutral status. Since you have an active alliance with the Zoogie People, I suppose I have to defer to their better judgment.

Emperor Miller hung up the phone and headed to the press room, telling his aide he had 5 minutes to get the Press in there or he would be fired.

"Doujin would like to clarify it's position in Feazanthia. We are aiming to remove the most immediate threats to Doujin and the world, then aim to quickly and efficiently remove it's government from power. Afterwards, we - along with multiple nations, who have yet to be determined - will be hosting emergency elections for the people of Feazanthia to get back to a normal, democratic lifestyle. Any damages made to the civilian infrastructure by our movements will be paid for in full out of the Doujin "pocketbook", and our forces will be removed from Feazanthia quickly and fully. We are not an Imperialistic nation, even though we are an "Empire". We have no interest in acquiring Feazanthia as a province or other form of autonomous state within the Doujin Empire. The Republic of Ozymandias IV is willing to offer mediation services between Feazanthia and the multi-nation force arrayed against it.

Conditional approval of all nations is required before mediators and peace-keepers can be deployed to the region.

The Republic will insist that Feazanthia allow neutral poll-watchers to monitor the upcoming elections. Further we will insist that the parties responsible for plotting to destroy the world's icepack face an international tribunal.

Your approval of these conditions are required for a successful mediation to this conflict.

The Republic of Ozymandias IV shall contact its Task Force Concord and instruct its commander to proceed to Feazanthia with all due speed.

We are still awaiting acceptance of these terms by Doujin and its allied forces.

Upon their acceptance we would suggest that they affect an immediate withdrawal to international waters and begin a temporary cessation of hostilities. Upon their forces withdrawal we would also suggest a temporary cessation of hostilities by the Feazanthian forces.

Under the terms of our proposed cease fire, no further military assets should be brought into the theatre and all contact between the two forces are to be halted until such time as a more permanent agreement can be arranged.

When Task Force Concord arrives on station, we will dispatch Navy of the Republic helicopters to bring delegates to the RN Battleship Liberty to discuss the terms of a permanent peace.

"Captain! Ve have firing solution on enemy wessel!"
"FIRE!"
"Belay that order! This just came from Central Command. They're telling us to not fire unless those damn Doujins fire again. Apparently the new Commander's plan worked, and Morathania is going to be hosting the negotiations to get these foreign devils out of our waters. Still...keep missiles primed. "Have we gotten damage reports from Orichalon?"
"Yeah. It's bad. Two-hundred and thirteen dead, and that's just military personnel. We don't even know about non-com casualties yet."

Doujin

50km out: Over 200 missiles destroyed in medium range engagement zone

Doujin Response:

"Sir, all missiles destroyed."

"Good, good - time to show them who's who. Set new targets, all guns on all ships - target that task force. Sink her to the ground. Scramble the fighters. Target the ships weak poitns, we designed a good portion of their fleet so we know what to attack. FLASH Traffic to the subs, sink their AEGIS frigates. Prepare fighters for anti-ship warfare, and give them air superiority fighter escorts. I want the ships to come in low, and I want to hit the Leviathon in her radar mast, and her command room. Make sure they hit the base of the turrets, that is where they are most vulnerable at.

"Target right here," the Admiral pointed to spots on the Infusion and Lunar carriers where their weakest points were. "Doing so will disable their engines, and power supply. Come in quick and low, hit the command structures, for the Lunar that is here," the Admiral pointed to where the Lunar's Command Center is at, "and if you land 5-7 missiles here," the Admiral pointed yet again on to a picutre, "then the ship will buckle from the inside and blow itself apart."

The aircrew and other officers nodded, and continued to study the maps for another couple minutes.

"Alright boys, let's get to it. Sink the entire Fleet. I don't want a single ship left."

Aboard the DN Astryr - Doujin Class Flagship
The entire crew raced across the ship, the guns of the behemoth slowly maneuvered themselves in the direction of the Kommandant. Using a computer calculation, calculating the path of the Kommandant, the Astryr prepared to sink the ship that dared fire upon it. The huge, 20 ton + shells were loaded into the Doujin's 20 guns, and the ship began firing sequence.

"This is the XO, we are preparing to fire. Sound protection is now required. I repeat, sound protection is now required. That is all."

With a collective roar, the guns lit up. The ship felt the guns unleash their wrath upon an unsuspecting Leningrad Class BBG. The world will see what happens to whomever decides to fire upon the most powerful military vessel on the seas. As each gun unloaded it's power, each one firing every 10 seconds keeping a sustained rate of fire and covering a large path to make sure that the Kommandant is sunk, they all began their reloading process which wuold take about 4 minutes. As soon as the last gun finished firing, the first began firing yet again. Sustaining bombardment of the target area, to assure absolute destruction of the Leningrad Class, Kommandont.

Aboard the DN Flickertail State
"Captain, we are getting traffic from the Astryr. Command code verified. Order are to commence the attack on those AEGIS destroyers we were trailing, sir."

The Captain walked over to the XO and looked at the paper himself.

"Alright. General Quarters - silent mode. Flood tubes one through four and make your depth one-five-zero feet."

"Aye, sir. Master Chief, make depth one-five-zero feet."

"Ensign, make depth one-five-zero feet."

The ship began to rise from it's cushy depth of 800 feet, and when it reached it's depth, they listened. The destroyer kept on it's course, heading directly towards the submarine.

"Up Periscope"

The periscope rose up and broke the waters, and the Captain took a quick look around. Seeing that he was right in front of the destroyer, he gave the order.

"Open torpedo doors, and fire a spread - tubes one and two."

"Aye, sir."

The torpedo doors opened and out shot two Mk.48 ADCAP torpedos, heading directly towards the bow of the Biggles Class AEGIS Destroyer.

"I don't want only to disable that ship. I want her down. Load tubes one and two, fire tubes three and four. Up Periscope."

Torpedo doors opened and out shot the two remaining Mk. 48 ADCAP torpedos that were ready. The Captain looked through the Periscope, and saw not two, not four - but seven or eight seperate torpedos impact the Biggles Class Destroyer. Similar arrangements were happening to every single Biggles Destroyer in the Sigma taskforce.

OOC: I know, I know - that would be a godmod to say wether or not the torpedos hit and or destroyed the destroyer. But I am throwing so much at his Task Force, if they weren't destroyed I would say godmod. I assigned two-three subs per Biggles, so that I can send in aircraft armed with anti-shipping missiles to take out the larger capital ships with firesupport from the Battleships parked safely in the middle of my escorts. If you want, I will edit my post in a bit to take out me role-playing the almost certain destruction of your ships (I own the designs to them, I know their weaknesses....)

Aboard the DN Astryr, Operatoins Room
"Sir, we have word that their AEGIS destroyers are either destroyed or disabled and unable to defend the ships against air attacks."

"Excellent, launch the figheters."

The fighters are armed with 2 Egap Anti-Ship Missiles, 2 Fuel Pods, 4 EAW-67 'Viper' Short Range AAM, and 2 EAW-78 'Cobra' Medium-Long Range AAM.

Number of Aircraft <-> 50 per Aircraft Carrier being launched, 60 from the Doujin <-> 510 F-109D Super Tempests being launched, with a total of 1020 Egap Anti-Shipping missiles.

The aircraft each split up and headed towards their individual targets. 20 airplanes, solely designated to the purpose of the Leviathon Class Battleship, streaked low and kept close to the surface. Closing the distance fast, they saw the Leviathon come up in the distance. Anti-Aircraft fire from the Leviathon lit up the sky, but the aircraft straffed and dodged until they were at the best effective firing range. Trying their best to "guide" their missiles, they fired - watching the missiles hit the radar mast and command centers, and two missiles hit the forward turret - and then in the most utter display of lack of proper intelligence, shells from the Astryrbegan ripping into the Leviathon, catching 4 planes in the following explosions. (wraping this up)

The aircraft finished their attack, and the Battleships from the Doujin Fleet began reigning fire down on whatever ships left in the Feazanthian Task Force. Not one ship would escape the wrath of Doujin.

The fleet control room came alive aboard the Chlevenkov, a Razor-class battle-carrier...

"Sir, we are having massive exchanges of fire between Doujin and Feazanthia..."

The intelligence directorate captain whirled around... "What?"

"Well, Feazanthia fired some two-hundred or so anti-ship missiles at the Doujin forces but they were mostly shot down before they arrived."

"Good."

"Doesn't end there sir... Doujin has retaliated with massive strikes via ship, submarine, and aircraft on the Feazanthian vessels. "

"Send the intel up to the bridge. "

"Aye sir."

The sergeant got to work and electronically sent the information up to the bridge...

-------

A lieutenant printed off the sheet and hustled over to Rear Admiral Serj Viktorov who snatched the paper from the lieutenant and read the report in its entirety...

"Open up a transmission to the Astryr."

"Aye..." A minute passes. "Transmission encoded and open for communications, sir."

The admiral nodded and picked up a radio.

"This is Rear Admiral Serj Viktorov, aboard the RNS Chlevenkov , commanding officer of the first battle fleet. We're about fifteen miles off from your current position but we're getting reports of the exchanges of fire and wondering if you'll need assistance.

We're currently readying 141 Squadron, 155 Squadron, and 157 Squadron, which are all outfitted with F-57A Molniyas, about forty five aircraft between the three squadrons, aboard the Vinogradov and the Chlevenkov. We can have them ready and airborne in ten minutes to provide cover for your forces if the need arises. We're currently launching 120 Squadron with 16 F-57As and 317 Squadron with twelve DP-21Bs to provide defense in our area and as a quick reaction force if you need them.

Just give us the word and we'll be there and if you need anything else, just call... "

-----------------

On every vessel in the ARSB's naval fleet, men were at their stations, preparing to defend against airborne or naval threats.

Aboard the Chlevenkov, two of the three F-57A Molniya squadrons were preparing for take off, half of them receiving their armaments and fuel, the other half either taxiing to the catapaults or already airborne. The F-57As and DP-21Bs of the two already airborne squadrons circled overhead. The DP-21Bs were the fleet's EW and long range interceptor aircraft, capable of messing with aircraft's radars at ranges of a hundred miles and firing missiles accurately at aircraft two hundred miles away, courtesy of their CFAR XRAAM missiles.

On the Vinogradov's deck, the last squadron of F-57As ordered for duty were already on the flightline, taking off as fast as the catapaults could be recharged.

---------

About ten minutes later, 141 Squadron, with their fifteen F-57A Molniya advanced air superiority fighters, roared up into the clouds and to an altitude of nearly 70,000 feet. A half dozen DP-21B EW/Interceptors and one DP-21N followed but lagged down at 65,000 feet, their powerful radars covering the scene below. They basically orbited the entire battle zone, they'd engage but Doujin had so many aircraft in the air that the risk for collisions for friendly fire was just too great. They'd observe for the time being and maybe shoot down a few Feazanthian aircraft as they skeeter away or near the scene. The ALMRS/TTAC-98Mk IV information system was already sharing all the info with the naval fleet, airborne aircraft, satellites, headquarters back at home, and even some tanks that were running trials back in the ARSB (The ALMRS/TTAC-98 Mk IV IDS distributes information to all ALMRS/TTAC-98 Mk IV units which are located in all ARSB equipment, bases, and VEPR combat suits). The system was also broadcasting a 'message' to the Doujin aircraft and naval ships that they were friendly aircraft. The Feazanthian ships/aircraft would not be able to pick up this transmission...

Aboard the Soverign, Commodore Marcus Patinkin was jarred from his sleep by the sound of his crew shouting.

"What the hell?" Patinkin thought to himself as he hurriedly threw on his uniform and rushed to the bridge.

"Status report?"

"Sir, the Feazanthians and Doujin just exchanged fire. It looks like the majority of the Feazanthian fleet was disabled or destroyed."

"What the hell? I thought there were supposed to be peace talks between those two. Contact the folks in Nicksia. Request instructions."

The signal went out to the naval command in Nicksia, and John Newman, the naval chief came on.

"This is Navy Chief John Newman. All units, stand by."

That's not very helpful, Patinkin thought as he heard Newman basically tell him to keep twiddling his thumbs. He wanted to do something tangible, but he flashed back to Admiral Taylor in the war against Holy Panooly. This isn't our fight unless one of those navies sends weapons our way.

Patinkin had an idea.

"All units, assume defensive posture," Patinkin said. "Get a second squadron of fighters up for a stronger air escort." On a lark, Patinkin walked to the communications station and relieved the ensign sitting at the station. He opened a channel.

"Put me through to the commander of Doujin's fleet," Patinkin said. "I know he's busy, but something's not quite right here."

Doujin is now looking for nations who are interested in helping organize and administrate elections for the people of Feazanthia. Doujin, after ending it's current military maneuvers (which aren't over yet, waiting for you Feazanthia to reply), will begin negotiations. If they are not met, and are demands are pretty much non-negotiable, then we will continue with this course of action. Non-negotiable not because we are warmongering, or seek conflict, but because it is what we feel is needed.

These demands are as follows.

1. Feazanthia limits its Air Force, Army, and Navy to a certain number of ships to be specified.

2. The current Feazanthian government administration surrenders it's position as the ruling body of Feazanthia.

3. The current Feazanthian government administration acknowledges that it cannot run for future elections.

4. Doujin pays for any loss of civilian infrastructure.

5. Feazanthia pays Doujin for the munitions used against Feazanthian Forces. ***

These are our demands. They must be met. (Subject to further review and negotiations, of course.

Hamilton, Morathania- Two days ago Morathanian ships arrived of the coast of Feazanthia. The President had this to say.
"Because of the growing war in Feazanthia the Federation of Morathania is evacuating all Morathanian citizens. This includes all Morathanian nationals, embassy officials, non-military support staff and representatives from all Morathanian cosulates in Feazanthia. If any of the great citizens of Morathania are killed during this evacuation by either side Morathania will be forced to retailiate."
Morathania currently has the 8th battalion of the IX corps, often called the 7th expeditionary force, of the marines currently in Feazanthia. President Colin Wixted also said that Morathania "will be devoted to bringing democracy to this land ravaged by war. Feazanthia shall become a great shining becon of democracy in this dark region."

He balled the fax up and tossed it into the fire. This was not turning into a good day at all.

Over three-fourths of the workers have reportedly pledged their undying support for the Feazanthian government. We're just learning now that many computer records of ship designs in Xylion were downloaded to private disks and then purged from the hard drives. More at twenty-three.

OOC: Task Force Concord consists of the following:
Invincible Class Carrier Dauntless with associated air wing
Iowa Class Battleship Liberty
Two Ticonderoga Class Cruisers - Gauntlet & Greaves
Two Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers - Vulture & Buzzard
Two Type 42 Destroyers - Thrush & Sparrow
Six Type 23 Frigates - Gladius , Claymore , Katana, Sabre , Rapier & Spear

The Republic of Ozymandias IV calls for an immediate cease-fire and a withdrawal of Doujin forces to international waters.

Task Force Concord will then place itself between the allied Doujin forces and those of Feazanthia. Under the terms of this temporary cease fire, we ask that no further military assets be brought into the theatre.

Once our ships are on station, we will arrange for helicopter transport to the RN Battleship Liberty to discuss a formal cease fire agreement. We will present Doujin's terms at that time.

If that is acceptable, a withdrawal of Doujin units is in order so that our ships may take up their position and begin the peace process.

Commodore Patinkin shook his head at the static that was coming from his vain attempts to contact Admiral Wallace.

"Put me through to the President," Patinkin said.

"Sir! You can't break the chain of command," his first officer, Captain Bryan Tucker said.

"Watch me," Patinkin said. Before the lieutenant could patch the frequency in, the communications relay indicated that Patinkin himself was being called.

"Patinkin."

"Marcus, this is President Sarzo," Sarzo said.

In spite of the grave situation, Patinkin smirked. Just as they were going to violate protocol by contacting the President, he contacted them.

"Hello, Mr. President."

"I've been monitoring the situation over there," Sarzo said. "It looks like Doujin has done just what I thought they would do. You are authorized to use whatever means necessary to protect Sarzonian interests, including force."

"Are we declaring war?"

"No," Sarzo said. "But if either side gives you trouble, you have authorization to respond in kind. First thing's first, evacuate the Sarzonian embassy, but also send the following encoded message to all the combatants."

"Aye sir."

"Sarzo out."

Patinkin received the coded message and let out a gasp. He ordered a set of helicopters with fighter escorts to go to the Sarzonian embassy to evacuate civilians from the compound.

"They're on their way commodore."

"Good. Now send this message to all the combatants: Doujin, Feazanthia, etc."

"ALL of them."

"All of them."

The message was sent.

"Attention all combatants. The Incorporated States of Sarzonia register our extreme disappointment that this conflict has advanced to the level of a full-scale invasion. We call upon all forces to cease hostilities and proceed to the negotiating tables. We are more than willing to mediate any disputes.

"However, I have authorized Commodore Patinkin and the Sarzonian fleet assembled in neutral waters to take whatever actions necessary to protect Sarzonian interests in Feazanthia. If so much as one civilian has one hair out of place from a deliberate attack, we will consider that an act of war and will respond accordingly.

"Sarzonia abhors a needless conflict. We want peace, but if you force us to fight, we'll do so ruthlessly."

Patinkin shook from a bundle of nerves as the message from Sarzo transmitted out. Even the war against Holy Panooly didn't make him this nervous.

Carrier Prosperity, 5 miles behind the Doujin Fleet - Preparing to enter Feazanthian Waters.

"Doujin Fleet - this is the Arbran Carrier Prosperity. We are the lead ship in the Arbran Fury TaskForce. Do not intervene, and we shall have no conflict."

The Arbran Fleet, consisting of 4 Doujin-Made Invincible Class Aircraft Carriers, 2 Mackensen Class Battleships, 10 Centaur Class Destroyers, 10 Warspite SSBNs, 15 Sea Wolf SSNs, and 5 Clan Grant Class Fleet Supply Ships, continued on it's way.

"Ensign, send this message to the Ozymandias IV Task Force"

Ozymandias IV Task Force - We are on a private mission, not involving Sarzonian, Doujini, Ozymandian or any other foreign assets. We will stay 10 miles away from your ships, however we will be going off the coast of Feazanthia. We do not wish conflict.

The Arbran Task Force, maintaining it's distance steamed towards the coast of Feazanthia. As soon as it was in proper range, the Task Force halted it's movements.

"This is the Captain. We have been authorized to unleash nuclear warheads. We are to level Feazanthia for their threat against the world. Extreme judgement upon the whole of Feazanthia."

70 RF-11D Archangels, each armed with 5 Megaton Nuclear Warheads from each carrier were launched, carrying also 4 EAW-67 Short Range AAMs, and 2 EAW-78 Long Range AAMs were launched from each aircraft Carrier.

Meanwhile, aboard the SSBN's
"This is the Captain. We have received authorization for launch of all 30 Trident 'DF' SL-ICBM at Feazanthian targets. Prepare for launch."

The Missile doors on the 10 Warspite SSBNs opened, and shortly after the Captain on the respective ships fired their payload.

"This is the Captain. We just commited a necessary evil, eradicating a threat to the world. This is the first ever Arbran release of nuclear weapons upon a nation, and will hopefully be our last."

[Recount: 300 Trident 'DF' SL-ICBMs, and 280 5 Megaton nuclear warheads were heading towards Feazanthia. Covering a spread maneuver, the goal is to "carpet nuke" the nation. No one knows we are aiming to do this, the missiles aren't launched until the aircraft start dropping their payloads upon Feazanthia.]

[ooc: I'd love to know how Fighters can shoot down ICBMs.]

ic: Artitsa has remained silent throughout this entire conflict, however, Waiting for their Chance, they must now help their protectorate, Arbra. It would seem Arbras previous attempt at a Carpet Nuke strike had failed. Thus it was Artitsa's turn.

All over the world Borei SSBN's rose near the surface to launch depths. Each had their 24 silo covers pop open, and 24 SL-ICBM's were from each. There was over 32 SSBN's around the world. With that first phase completed, it was time to goto step two. 18 Warspite SSBN's opened their 30 missile containers and launched off their loads.
2 SL-ICBM's malfunctioned and self-detructed in the uperatmosphere, the nuclear payload was not armed. Immediatly recovery teams were sent to make sure no weapons were left.

So technically there should be 13080 Nuclear Warheads, each 8 Megatons, but I have a feeling people will yell ignore because their ignorant, just consider there to be 100 ICBM's each with 10 MIRV's (1000 8 megaton warheads).

The missiles enter into orbit around the earth, moving in over Feazanthia. They then began their decent, speeding down at over mach 25. Just as Feazanthia decieded to initiate ANY Anti-Missile system, each missile split off into 10 MIRV's plus over a hundred fragments in order to heavily confuse any system.

ooc: Once again that is 1000 8 Megaton warheads in a wide dispersal pattern to "carpet nuke" Feazanthia. They are moving down at mach 25, don't expect fighters to intercept them

"One at a time, please!" Patinkin said, exasperation creeping into his voice as the lieutenants jockeyed for position. He looked to his left since the lieutenant had an ashen look on her face. "Go ahead Connor."

"Sir, we've received a transmission from the Morathanians. It's coded urgent."

Patinkin sighed. "Any word on what direction they're coming from?"

"I can't get an accurate trajectory on them yet, but it doesn't appear to be coming from Doujin, that's for sure."

Patinkin got on the fleet wide intercom.

"All units, make a 180 degree turn away from Feazanthia. See if you can shoot down some of those missiles, but get us as far away from here as possible. Full speed!"

"Aye, sir."

The Sarzonian fleet turned and sailed as fast as it could far away from Feazanthia. Each ship's anti-missile battery opened fire on the incoming missiles while the ships set course to return to Sarzonia.

"Run a trace on the origin of those missiles," Patinkin said. "We'll know who our enemies are before very long."

14-05-2004, 03:34
In one of West Scotland's satellite command centers, all was well. No radiation or massive explosions were being detected in the particular satellite's routine checkups of WS's allies and 'nations of consequence.'

The main satellite operative, Alex Welsh, a former air force pilot, was soundly asleep, although sleep was really strictly forbidden. Couldn't miss much, though could he? Despite his attempts to not drift into sleep, he did anyways, a mug of coffee left nearly untouched on his desk.

Then all hell broke loose. Alarms sounded - every bloody alarm there was, went off nearly simultaenously. Welsh was startled awake, kicked off the open coffe mug from the desk, and scrambled to the controls.

Alarms do have a nasty habit of irritating people who are sleeping soundly. Normal alarms irritate those who have to use them every day. Now, alarms warning about nuclear missile launch, nuclear missile detonation, missile defense launch, and so on, are significantly louder and more stress-extracting.

"Christ," he said, looking at the control screen.

(exerpts from Ytovian Broadcast Network, this evening)

Voiceover: We interupt this special bulletin for a special message from Fure Calere Damog Atenkruf. Live from Orrville, the Fure Calere.

"My fellow Ytovians. My fellow human beings of all races, religions and creeds. I hope that after the events of this day, you may be able to find some solace. At this time, do not feel as though it is wrong to grieve, to feel sorrow or anger at the day's events. Such feelings, for now, only serve to remind you of your heart and soul, of your ability to feel the pain of others, of your humanity...

Now is not a time for retaliation or revenge. Now is a time for grief. Now is a time for the world to take stock of what it has lost and to show compassion. Tonight, the Calere has set up a Feazanthia relief fund. Please note that every kola nut you give will go toward helping the survivors re-establish their lives...I personally have made the first gift to the fund, in the amount of 100,000 kola nuts from my own private savings...

The world must not react swiftly in retribution. At this time, we do not know who perpetrated this evil act...Should they be found out, we would call upon the world to act as one and administer justice...We will not condone any act of 'revenge', but they must be made to face the responsibility of their actions...

We will send a naval task force to Feazanthia on a mission of peace. We will comb the blast sites for samples of the material used in the attack in the hopes of determining the perpetrator, and will share our findings, and our evidence, with whatever nation expresses interest...Although it is doubtful that any people survived the attack, should any be found we will provide them with the best medical care we have to offer...

I regret to inform you that there were 14 Ytovian citizen in Feazanthia at the time of the attack. No doubt, many other naitons had people in that country, whether for government business or corporate business or vacation. Tonight, the only rational response of any person claiming to be compassionate and civilized is to grieve. Tonight, we are all Feazanthians.

-----------

The Ytovian task force made its way for (what was left of) Feazanthia. The ships:

The Barbara McClintock, Charles Drew-class hospital ship.
The Liongo, Iktomi-class aircraft carrier.
The Evanesce and Steadfast, Antagonize-class guided missile cruisers.
The Broadside, San Antonio-class amphibious carrier.

The Liongo hold a smaller than normal contingent of fighter-craft to make room for personnel carrying helicopters. The Broadside is there to help get personnel on land. The cruisers are armed mainly with missiles configured for anti-missile defense.

"Something is not right here," said the head of the nuclear inspection team. "The Uranium and plutonium readouts are from numerous Artista reactors. They match material from the mid 1980's to early 1990's from many of their power facilities. Even more, the thermal readouts from the RADAR records say that the exhaust fumes from the missiles fit known Artista signatures."

"I think Artista did this," said his junior.

"I believe it is possible, but could they've been set up? I mean they have been sending aid and supporting Feazanthia," said the chief inspector.

OOC: A couple of points I feel I need to make:

1) The SLBMs were fired from a Warspite class submarine, many navies have those so unless Artista uses a different reactor set to everyone else...then you wouldnt be able to define it to one's nation's vessel.

2) Lets get a grip on reality. You have just released the equivelent of ten times the total explosive force of the combined nuclear arsenals of the US and USSR at the height of the cold war. Even in radio-protection suits your going to be pooing your own guts out in less than a minute. Hell, even being on the same continent at this particular point in time will be lethal in a matter of minutes. I sure hope Feazanthia doesnt have any neighbours....and this nuclear radiation will continue to be lethal until well into the next millenium, hence why I dont myself use such large nukes.

"Positive, Sir," one of the officers replied. Right now, the land itself is still too radioactive. Even our best shielding wouldn't protect us for more than a few minutes. What's worse, the ocean water arround the islands has also become radioactive. Or rather, neutron radiation has made the salt in the water radioactive."

"So no one could have survived..."

"Maybe. If they got into a shelter, and if the shelter was deep enough, and stocked well enough...it's possible. Of course, pulling them out now woudl kill them."

"OK, any idea on retrieving samples."

Task Force Concord followed the Doujin ships from the area before heading for Port Ares in the Republic of Ozymandias IV. The black clouds from the fires continued to rise over what was left of Feazanthia.

On the bridge of the Liberty Captain Thorin VII took a deep drag on his cigarette.

"Transmit all of our logs to Naval Command, including the vector plots of the inbound missiles," he ordered through a wreath of smoke. "Order all ships' crews to submit for physicals and to stay off the decks. We'll need to decon all of our ships before we make port back home - we've got to be pretty hot after that bombardment...

"Is it just me or has the world gotten even more insane? I'll be in my ready room if you need me - this is one report that will take a while to write up..."

"Aye sir, what about the aircraft?"

"Have a squadron remain airborne for a bit longer then have them land on the Vinogradov while we're on course for home ports. Have the rest return to their home carriers. "

"Aye sir."

-The message was sent and most of the ships circled around from their current position, the wasteland of Feazanthia barely visible in the far distance, they had been nearly fifty miles away. Six Zlatoslav destroyers and a couple frigates stood by until the main fleet was in the distance, then they headed after them, towards the nearest ARSB port. The squadron of F-57As returned to the Vinogradov and the fleet was underway for home...-

Doujin would like to thank Ozymandias IV for it's willingness to mediate, and avert a war. Due to the situation ending how it did, unfortunatly, that war was averted - however millions of lives were lost. We all grieve on this day, and mourn for the Feazanthian souls lost. We never intended the entire destruction of Feazanthia, we only wanted to make sure the Feazanthian people were kept safe. Many a nation wanted to invade, to try and conquer or simply topple the government violently when Feazanthia threatened the world. Doujin held them at bay so we could remove their government in the least damaging way to civilians and their infrastructure. Our efforts were in vain, seeing as the current state of Feazanthia.

Once again, the Empire thanks Ozymandias for it's willingness to keep the peace.

15-05-2004, 00:03
OOC: well actually, unless your were using neutron bombs, the radiation shouldn't be that much (especally since a 4 megaton mirv is probably thermo nuclear). Remember, in the 3 mile island incident, somone went down into the reactor where the water was yellow green and shaking from the radiation, he died several days later i believe, but only because of the immense contamination. However even a huge thermo nuclear attack wouldn't generate half as much radiation, not to mention this is in the atmosphere. It shouldn't take more than several weeks before research can be conducted.
