On television screens around the globe, Billy Etherton, the President of the Austar Union comes on. On the bottom of the screen, "BREAKING NEWS" is written in big, bold letters.

"My friends around the globe,

Today you have witnessed the pshycopathic events, whereapon the nation of Huzen Hagen has threatened the world with absolute destruction. You have all seen this, and here I am today to announce our official response.

As I speak, there is a massive nuclear response underway. The target of our nuclear weapons, is the nation of Huzen Hagen. We believe the only way to eliminate such threats is to destroy the Huzeny civilization entirely. For this, we are sad, yet our tears are drowned out with the sense of pride.

FOR HUMANITY!"

The following missiles have been launched at Huzen Hagen:

8000 X Peacekeeper ICBM: Nuclear Warhead (
600 X ICBM SS-18 (Model 5): Nuclear Warheads (30MT)
20 X Thermo Nuclear Missile (80MT)

Uh yeah that much firepower will destroy humanity too. Way to go. Now we're all double dead.

I might as well assist with the destruction of humanity as well.

IC: Emporess Bea sat in her office, brooding over the roports of a battle in blood Pass, he moved to the next set, about a nucklear attack on Huzen Hagen. "JEsus!" She swore. "WHat the hell is Billy doing. Get me a line to him NOW!"

Ahahaahahahahahahaha... Seriously, this is the proof of someone who knows absolutely NOTHING about the nuclear aftermath. AU I suggest to read a book about nuclear disasters & nuclear winters It might prove useful.

OOC: The US and Soviet Union had tens of thousands of nukes.....but they couldn't launch them all at once. Between missile silos and subs, I'm sure he could heave quite a few at once, but nowhere near that many. Unless of course this is a gradual bombardment.

I might be a more newbie nation than most of the ones who've posted so far, but I thought I'd just chip in - Personally I ignore any nuclear attack using over 1000 warheads, and definately using this sheer amount of them, simply because to accept it would, realistically, mean accepting the destruction of everything in the entire world, and because it's simply overkill.

Oh, I'd also like to see the thread that lead to this, it could prove interesting.

Thermal radiation radius (3rd degree burns) : 772 kilometres
Air blast radius (widespread destruction) : 211 kilometres
Air blast radius (near-total fatalities) : 79.9 kilometres
Ionizing radiation radius (500 rem) : 21.8 kilometres
Fireball duration : 448.4 seconds
Fireball radius (minimum) : 25.8 kilometres
Fireball radius (airburst) : 31.6 kilometres
Fireball radius (ground-contact airburst) : 41.6 kilometres

^^ From the combined nuclear strike of a 27,600 megaton (27.6 gigaton) nuclear warhead. Mind you, the US had a 20 gigaton nuclear warhead at it's peak, but does not have it anymore due to it's inefficiency.

Only reason it is ignorable is because he claims to launch them at once. It is possible for him to have as many nucelar missiles as he is claiming, launching them all at once is a bit to much.

The US never had a 20 gigaton weapon. Our largest test was only 15MT and the largest world test was 57MT by Russia. The largest nuclear bomb ever is the Russian Tsar bomb at 100MT though it was never deployed in any real sense. In actuality, the US had a 9MT MK-53 as its largest weapon really aside from a few 25MT free-fall bombs but nothing that big. Hell 20 gigatons would be more nuclear material than capable in a single delivery system unless it was the size of a 747.

OOC: According to his post, he never said he launched them all at once. He posted it as a news report, so it is feasable that he may have launched a few thousand missiles by the time the media finds out.

I dunno, if this was my country being nuked I'm not sure what I'd do.....to ignore or not to ignore, that is the question.

FPS is not only outraged, but seriously frightened by this attack. For a couple reasons.
1. AU is not only trying to kill the government, but the ENTIRE POPULATION! What's the point of that? I mean, civilians don't deserve to die due to their leaders actions (especially if the nation isn't a democrocy).
2. Where's this evidence of a threat AU?
3. The global enviromental effect of this size of a nuking would be quite...tremendous. Well...maybe not totally tremendous. It would probably extinguish all life on the planet Earth, but not much more than that...

At this time, FPS is requesting that AU abort the assault, and that nuclear war be averted unless totally necesary. If it is totally necesary, AU, our nation would like to see some evidnece of why.

I'd ignore it out of stupidity. He claims that he is saving humanity because of what HH is doing but with all those nukes and all that power he's pretty much turning Earth into a giant crater. DOH.

Under an agreement with Huzen Hagen, HH has taken back his attack on the world, and so I have also withdrawn my attack as a response. This thread can now be officially IGNORED as if it never happened, for its very reason of existance does now not exist in itself. :)
