Admiral James Wallace announced today plans to replace the entire Feazanthian naval airfleet with unmanned combat aerial vehicles, or UCAVs.

"The recent advances by our friends in Kikoskriat in the field of unmanned vehicles have proven that the age of manned aircraft is drawing to a close. Unmanned aircraft are lighter, more manueverable, and a great deal more expendable. Therefore, in the next twenty years, our extensive naval airfleet shall be replaced with UCAV versions. We believe this is in the best interest of our military. In time, this may lead to the complete replacement of our airforce and army by unmanned equivalents."

More at twenty-three. This is CNN.

OOC: I fail to see how an unmanned vehicle, without getting to advanced, could keep up with a pilot. You can't ever replace the ability a pilot would have, even thought there would be fewer restrictions on maneuverability - but the computation power needed to sustain that, and hell even power requirements. *shrug*

It would have to be intelligent, otherwise it would get predictable.
Do you have AI?

In fact, all Tachyon Industries products have 3 methods of control:

-Basic AI with sensors to detect enemies. Friends are not fired upon due to identification tagging. Yes, that makes it quite predictable, unless you upgrade the AI at the regular basis.

-It can be programmed with a set of instructions for it to carry out.

-It can be controlled via satellite links.

Actually, the PREDATOR drone has proven quite adept at what it does. The only reason we don't use more remote-controlled vehicles is, quite honestly, tradition.

UCAVs are FAR more manueverable than manned planes. The human body can only physically stand 9 Gs. An unmanned vehicle can pul upwards of 15 Gs.
