Burstak
09-05-2004, 22:59
And now, a Valyka Kraina News Special... in Delwablen, an estimated 65 miles from the Western Outskirts of Hobinsk in Burstak, a political concentration camp is planned to be opened. In a government report, it was stated that the occupants, who are comprised of members of any political opposition will do four hours of work a day to help with the region's "Arms For The Strong" act. The prisoners will earn small wages for this work with which they can buy food, clothing, soap, deodorant, and other necessities. They are not forced to work, but if they don't, they won't receive their wages. Starting from about 5 months ago in what was a secret project only to be unveiled after the camp's completion, Delwablen was evacuated and raized in anticipation for the camp's construction. The first occupants of the camp are expected to be higher-ups in the former governing party, Amnaz Joli Socialists. These prisoners, approx. 24 in total will be transported from Kazsav prison in the next day, and the camp is expected to be in full operation within a week, meaning more transports to come. The Paramount Conductor, Jovalic made a public address regarding the matter this morning, where he made the following statement: "The government will not tolerate opposition regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, etc. Any opposition to our government is UNACCEPTABLE. The Delwablen concentration camp will ensure this. Our beautiful, cultured nation needs one, and only one, ruler to lead it to ultimate success, and any opposition to that ruler is an opposition to that success. These people are criminals, and will be brought to justice!" He was met with tremendous, surprising cheering and celebration as he left in a private jet in the direction of Czechniya where he and Emperor Niccoli are set to meet. A huge parade in the support of the two esteemed leaders is already taking place on the border of the two countries, and is spreading miles upon miles into each country. This is Camlo Lakos signing out from this Valyka Kraina News Special.

What a surprise i have started to do the same thing to all my political prisoners, rebels criminals, etc. except I do not pay them and they have to work. Their supplies are provided for by the goverment. Also those that stand up in those camps are tortured without mercy infront of everyone to insure there are no riots. Anyways we will provide gaurds for your camps and incourage this.

OOC-This isn't usually the type of thing that any sane world leader would announce to the public; such proclamations and actions tend to lead in the loss of the world leader's power and in the loss of the independence of their nation...

The Demidian People will have no part in allowing blatant disregard for the various human rights acts set through the United Nationas and the Zoogie Isles Pact, I believe I speak for all 40+ nations in the Zoogie Isles when I say we will not allow for this and that you must stop this disregard for human rights or we must enter a more violent choice.

Due to international pressure, an internationally broadcasted speech by the Paramount Conductor for the global community.
"I understand the worries of the numerous leaders of the world regarding the construction of the camp, and I have respectfully come forth to adress these concerns. Before I came to rule in this beautiful nation, a party ruled that oppressed it's people beyond belief. Surveys show that under my rule, happiness is the element of everyone's life that is a constant one. To show that this has been an act of the people, the government of Burstak will run a poll, as you democrats are so fond of these things... every citizen inside Valyka Kraina will vote on the operation of the camp or the destruction of the camp, and their voice will decide. I assure you all that this is being done with the peoples' best intention at heart. The occupants of this camp are being brought to justice for their terrible actions. Thank you for your time."

A middle-aged man with black hair stands with beads around his neck holding a microphone with VK written on it. He is surrounded by thousands of people, dressed to party, loud music, dancers, stilt walkers, elephants, fireworks, and a variety of other carnival ingredients. He begins to speak, "Good evening! I'm Vacil Garfolino reporting from the heart of the parade in Hobinsk which is in support of the recently constructed camp in Delwablen! These people are showing their support for the Paramount Conductor, his allies, and their decisions, and to be honest their beliefs are of the same beliefs as most of the citizens of Burstak. The poll regarding the camp came back with an overwhelming ammount of people voting in support of the camp! 94% of the population has marked "Strongly Support" on these polls, which is amazing news for the government. One person speaking on the Czechniyan side of the parade was quoted as saying, "This is one of the many things that will lead us into a thriving superpower of superpowers!". I would stay and chat, but I have a parade to attend to, thank you ladies and gentlemen, good night."

Though we have no reason to question the results of the poll, the Grand Duchy of Monte Ozarka still stands by the belief that this constitutes as cruel and unusual punishment. Hypocrisy destroys virtue, and by torturing those who have oppressed your people, you destroy the very thing you are trying to preserve.

Take this to heart,

And we should believe you simply because you said so? The survey could be completely flawed. Until a survey is conducted by a foreign party seperate from your government, you will be seen as liars.

Classical music can be heard in the background as well-dressed couples glide across the wooden floor. The camera sweeps to a well dressed reporter in his mid-thirties proudly displaying a pin with the flag of Czechniya crossing the flag of Burstak on the lapel of his tuxedo.

"I am Kurvak Novilack reporting for Czechniya national news here at the compound of Emperor Niccoli himself. It is a very rare occasion but he has opened up his compound tonight for festivities for party members in celebration of the newly opened camp and wide-spread approval recently passed policies. In a recent poll 99% of the nation was in full support of the "Arms for the Strong" and most recently 94% was in complete support, backing the governments actions taken to protect the region's civil rights and freedoms with the establishment of the Delwablen labor camp. Emperor Niccoli stated in a release earlier today:

"The Delwablen camp is a neccessity to protect the civil rights and freedoms of all citizens of Valyka Kraina regardless of gender, race, or creed. All opposition to the freedom of the people will not stand."
