End to the Civil War? (Open Modernish-tech RP)
Dyelli Beybi

The war had dragged on for months in the North of the country. While all of populated Dyelli Beybi esitsted with no disruption, here in the uninhabited North, Socialist forces had been scouring the land for months, engaged in a perpetual game of cat and mouse with their Tzarist counterparts. Here the Tzarist forces had clung to the rocks and the waterless wastes, here they had attempted to rebuild their army, and here it had been destroyed.
Very rarely in Dyelli Beybi's history had Dyelli Beybians believed in a cause strongly enough to give their lives for it, but this time they had. There had been no mercy and hundreds lay dead with a scattering of burned out husks of tanks.
The fight had been one sided, the Tzarists had been outnumbered, undergunned, with all of about 5 tanks and short of ammunition, food, fuel and just about everything else, they had also been ambushed. It had been less a battle and more a massacre.
A Tzarist Officer was moving in the dust, crawling towards a pistol, he nearly reached it before a jackboot kicked it out of his reach, he looked up into the hard dark eyes of a man in a Charcoal grey uniform, a few seconds later he was riddled with bullets, as Obersturmbannführer Brookes emptied a clip from his Tokarev into the man, "Bastard." he spat at the still twitching corpse as it's blood soaked into the golden sand.
"Sir!" a man also dressed in the charcoal uniform aproached the Obersturmbannführer, he was carrying an assault rifle, the letters SS could be seen on the collar of his shirt. Unlike his officer though, he was also draped in a sand coloured cloak, which also would double up as a blanket, while the helmet carried a desert camouflage covering.
"Report" Brookes demanded.
"The republican army is victorious Sir." the soldier declared.
Brookes glared at him, "Yes, I can see that Schütze, do you have anything useful to add?"
The soldier appeared unphased, "Yes Sir, we have reports a few officers got away."
Brookes shrugged, "Who cares, their army is all dead, the country is finally placated."
-----------------------------
A day Later across the border, in AWM...
Lord Dashfield now had fewer than twenty men with him a jeep and two trucks. Until yesterday he had commanded over 800 men. Now they were dead, they were all dead, and his paltry 17 were all that was left of the once Armies of the Tzar that prior to the revolution had numbered in their millions.
He sighed, his pride was gone, but he would fight to his last breath, for his murdered family friends and neighbours and for the life of privelege he had once enjoyed, "Peks." he said to his driver, he sounded weary, even to himself, "Fire up the radio. Find out if anyone out there is willing to stand up to this Socialist machine..."
--------------------------------
A crackly radio broadcast, a few minutes later
People of the world, Dyelli Beybi's rightful leader has been murdered. The nobility are all fled our likewise have died. I, Lord Dashfied stand ready to defend my Nation from the tyranny it now lives under. The people are controled by a Socialist Government whose secret police watch their every move, meanwhile the Rest of the Klatchian Confederacy has sat idly by and allowed the true Gooverning body of Klatch to be ruthlessly and methodically destroyed.
We have never asked for the aid of Foreign powers before, but now we do, we ask now that all right thinking Nations band together to aid us.
The Socialist rebels in Dyelli Beybi have sworn to destroy all Empires throughtout the world, they mascerade as a non-offensive democratic Government, but it truth they are ruthless sadistic maniacs. Their foreign Minister, Jack Ledoux was personally responsible for the bombing of a hospital in Fasta Benj, while the Admiral of their fleets has been responsible for inumerable acts of piracy and high-seas violence, including the downing of a 747 airliner for target practice. Their leader, the so called "Chancellor" Mr Himmler is responsible for the ordering of the cold blooded murders of thousands of pro-Tzar persons in his Nation. These people must be stopped.

OOC: The Socialist Army is currently standing at about 7 Million, running purely off volunteers. There are around a further 2 Million in the Navy and 500,000 in the Airforce.

ooc: what are the stances that the opposing parties take?
OOC: Just a quickie for now. Gotta hand it to DB to keep stirring the pot... :)
IC:
Intel posts along the Vrakian corridor managed to pick up parts of the message. The name "corridor" was odd now since some land was ceded to Dyelli Beybi to allow them access into the once EvilPsychoticGuy lands - in exchange for half of the aforementioned territory. Basically, the new maps have yet to come out but the phrase "Vrakian corridor" would not fall out of use for quite some time.
Anyways, once the message was intercepted and then pieced together by analysts, one could overhear one Major say one word that pretty much summed up his government's view on the entire situation:
"Shit."

OOC: I'll give a basic rundown of the political climate.
The two legal parties are the NSWP who run the country and the Communist Party. Both are fairly beligerent and usually stick up for each other when it comes to attempting to extend the Province's sphere of influence. The high ranking Cheka (secret police) are nearly all members of one party or the other.
The only other real oposition come from the Church of Cyro (a militaristic offshoot of the Roman Catholic Church which has undergone significant restrictions since the rebellion). While it no longer has it's own standing army, there is still a substantial number of believers willing to overthrow the Socialist Government or at least carve out their State. The Church has however fallen silent over recent months, mostly because the Pope doesn't want to wind up dead.
The Tzarists are the only organised oposition, although they have nearly all been killed. They enjoy very little popular support althoguh they do present a much more open minded aproach to foreign Nations (ie they don't view non-Klatchians as sub-human).
When wars go badly, the army tends to disintegrate.
Basically, unless someone jumps in guns blazing, the Socialists have won.

"Sir, air border patrols have indicated on radar that there is a small group of people moving near our borders to Dyelli Beybi. They are on our side of the border, sir," Sr. Airman Reynolds reported.
His CO, Capt. Kimmons, responded, "Fine. On the next satellite sweep of the location, let's take a few pictures. We'll find out who they are."
ooc: sorry, but i'm going to bed...finish this later.

OOC: You might want to check this link as well, if you're asserting control on AWM, there's some business with spies already going on in there.

Secret IC:
The room was dimly lit, simple, and dirty. It sat in the basement of some long forgotten building, the only furnishing a rickety circular table in the middle of the room and some radio equipment in the corner farthest from the wooden stairs. Upon the table sat a tattered map, the focus of the three men who stood around it. Two were smoking cigarettes, the smoke coiling up into the darkness, the third simply stared intently at the map. Before them lay the territories of Dyelli Beybi, several key locations marked with pins. Finally one of the men smoking gave a slow nod and spoke.
"Contact the Church of Cyro. Arrange for us a bit of a meeting. Socialist control is fragile and we ought tip the scale while we have the chance."
With this said, the third man offered but a grunt and moved to the transmitter. The message was simple.
"To the Church of Cyro. We offer you salvation. Accept our aid and find a voice in your war torn country once more."

Pope Idolatry was having breakfast when the monk entered, "You Holiness, we have a message" the man declared.
Idolatry put down his toast, wiping his mouth eith the corner of his napkin, "Since hwen have I answered messages in person?" he demanded. "Get one of the people's who's good at writing to draft a reply."
The monk shook his head, "No, your holiness, this is one you should read."
"Impertinent Devil." Indolence growled, snatching the sheet of paper out of the monks hand." he read it, musing alound occasionally, "Help us?....wartorn land...it looks pretty peaceful to me."
Idolatry shook his head again, "I don't know." he paused, thinking, "It would be better if we met these people. Send them back a message asking them what type of help they're thinking of, how they intend to stop the Socialist army and how they intend to dig the Cheka out of the clergy. Suggest they send a delegate to the Cathedral to meet face to face, there's enough tourists going in there nobody will notice..."

Internal Foreign Commissary Report
The position of The Incorporated States of Tom Joad is to remain neutral, however there are elements which feel drawn to support this conflict, if citizens choose to fight for the Tzarist forces we would be unable to prevent the large majority from doing so. We reccommend a policy of non-inteference, albeit with leanings toward the tzarist forces, as well as calling for a volunteer force to act as unofficial peacekeepers.
OOC: You can expect dribs and drabs of 'volunteers' to be arriving at some stage as well as minor military aid, primarily light arms, equipment and medical supplies. Inteference with deniability

The Renewed

The man slipped silently through the crowd of visiters, intent on finding his contact. A gaunt, thin faced man, he looked as though he had been teetered on mild starvation for most of his life. He was dressed plainly, the only hint at his occupation being a tattered brown trenchcoat with the likeness of a blue flame stitched onto one shoulder.
Upon recieving the return message from the church, the Dominion of the Renewed had immediately sent their nearest officer to meet with the Pope. That had just happened to be him, Kaj Maleen, one of the DR's most skilled agents. And at the moment it was with him that the entwining futures of the Church of Cyro and the Dominion now rested. Seeing his contact, he made his way inconspicuously through the crowd and slowly extended a hand of greeting.

(OOC) My apologies for how long this reply has taken, I've had some major server problems.
(IC)An elderly cleric nodded to the agent from the Dominion, one could hardly credit the man with being an agent of any form. He was slim, aged and balding on top. A thin framed pair of spectacles completed the appearance of a slightly innefective but kindly old man, he nodded meaningfully to a confessional, "Would you like to make your peace with the Lord my son?"
The Renewed

A wry smile crept over the gaunt face of the Dominion agent. "I do believe it is time to make atonement." With a slight nod he slipped into the confessional and awaited the priest. Once together he began in a soft whisper. "For too long now the Church of Cyro has been denied her rights. We have researched your past and before these socialists forced their way into power your mighty people had a standing army. It has disappeared. And so may the rest of your brave culture and religion should you sit idle and watch them restrict your freedoms one by one. The Dominion will not allow this should you choose to accept our help. We are small, but we are strong. With a few well placed explosives and the rallying of the people, we might win this nation back from these oppressors and hand control to your church and the people. Of course specifics could easily be discussed later. The Dominion does not stand for facists in socialist clothing."

While the iron grill in between the priest and petitioner obscured the priest's face, it seemed the priest was smiling, "Ahh but the situation is more complicated than that my son, when the Tzarists seized power after the First Communist regime, they did so by bribing the military, this time though, no bribing was needed, the people and the military just rose up...it was like an unstopable ball, when it seemed the whole world was against them, more people flocked to the Socialist banner....but I digress."
He cleared his throat before continuing, his voice thin and reedy, "What the Church of Cyro wants is for this city, Saint Guineford's, to be made Independent of the rest of Dyelli Beybi, we wish to rule with some form of autonomy from central Government, and from the mostly Romist population. This Cathedral was once considered the single most impressive building in Southern Klatch, but I am sure you yourself have seen the damage dealt to it by battle...and that was the Romists insurgents among the Church's own army, not the Socialists."
He laughed, "To truly explain the situation I would need to give you a history lesson...what we need if we are to succeed is troops and weapons. There are a few of the old Order soldiers floating around, Calatrava still has a Chapter house, but we aren't allowed to give them anything more than ceremonial arms, and they're riddled with undercover Cheka."
The Renewed
19-05-2004, 14:19
A soft, but certain chortle danced about the confessional. "If the Church wishes its sovereignty, the Dominion shall gladly grant it. Our own agents have done some research of your situation and are well aware of the dispersed old Order. They now seek each night for those prospects which may be willing to fight for your cause. Worry not about those unwilling to fight. For those the Dominion has found various ways of keeping quiet. And worry not about arms my friend. Approximately 400 RAR-17 rifles (ooc: think roughly AK design) are being smuggled into the city over a period of several nights. We may discuss recompense for these at a later date. And finally my most hopeful news...The various cells throughout Dyelli Beybi and the surrounding countries are organizing and preparing for war. We may provide you with the aid of 15,000 men if you would accept it. I know this is a meager number in comparison to the vast armies of the socialists...but for the war we are about to fight, they ought be enough. 15,000 men...all armed. I beg you accept this aid. We might begin the war for your fair city in a matter of days. All we await now are the rallying of the Order and all others willing to help in this struggle for freedom."
