A Federation representative approaches the podium. Flashbulbs flash, and he waits for a few moments for the murmur to calm down. AS he starts to speak, the screen behind him plays a video depicting government officials traveling through the Stargate, and the buildings being erected on the other side. The scenery being shown onscreen resembles an Earth plain, intouched by civilization.
"Greetings. I am here to announce an epic event in the history of the Federation. Beginning in two days, the people of this great land shall be relocating to another star system, by way of our Stargate. We expect that this exodus will take at least two weeks, depending on the operating capacities of said Stargate. The planet we have found is M-Class, well suiting the Federation's requirements. Currently, our transport fleet is setting up infrastructure for when our citizens arrive."
The scene on the video changes. It now shows a computer graphic of a star system. There are 10 planets in the system, and one is highlighted. You assume this is the Federation's new homeworld. Acccording to data in the upper right corner of the screen, you see that there arae 4 other habitable planets. A flashing cursor highlights empty space, it is labeled S-10.
"As you know, since we will all be leaving Earth, this will leave a great deal of empty real estate, already developed with utilities, resources and structures. We will not be using these anymore. That is why we've called representatives of many nations here. The Federation will be auctioning off the land it once lived on. We attest that there have been no doomsday devices placed to destroy the land after our departure. After I have answered any questions you may have, I will describe the plan for the auction. Are there any questions?"

The silence in the room is deafening.
"Is no one interested in acquiring these fertile lands? If not, the Federation will maintain these lands as it's own. It will be the Federation's embassy to the nations of Earth. All nations will be welcome. We will host peace conferences, negotiations, and the like. We will be turning the larger buildings into huge amphitheatres for UN use if it wishes. Any further questions?"

The Government of Falastur is very interested in this offer of the sale of land. We ask what you would ask for this land, that we might make a suitable offer. Also, we offer you a large area of this land on permanent lease, which may serve as an Embassy for your peoples, so that you are not forced to cut off all ties with Earth.

"We are asking for eighty billion dollars for the developed land that once was the Federation. As we have said, it should take about 2 weeks to fully move the people, at which time, you can occupy the territory. The embassy will be built around our Stargate, and also house a conference room capable of fitting the entire UN. Are there any other questions?"

The Government of Falastur finds that most acceptable, and has no more questions on this topic. As a gesture of our friendship, we offer the sum of $100 billion for this land. You will be given all the time needed to make an preparations to leave, and we offer our assistance if any is needed while you are still on Earth.

The Federation thanks you for your generousity. As far as we know, there will be no assistance required, but we will keep your offer in mind.
