Ok. Nuclear weapons have been only around for about seventy odd years. Two RL months, NS time is 60 odd years. now if I go by your logic and rules the the United states should only have 1 nuclear weapon as well as russia and the rest of the world should have 0. So my point is that your rules and logic is flawed as a nation can do whatever it pretty dam wants when it sets its mind to it. and may i remind you that those are the unnofficial rules, alot of people no longer follow them.

OOC: (Technically, The British Motherland is right. There is really no official rule limiting nuclear weapons. However, this makes for a very unrealistic world. This is due to the fact that if everyone had nuclear weapons, there would not be nearly as many wars as there are. People would think twiceabout attacking are being aggressive towards another nation with WMD's. On the other hand, there is no way of actually limiting nuclear capabilities. BY THE WAY, since when are two rl months equal to sixty years in nationstates? I think you have no clue what you are talking about. Within minutes, the Premier had authorized a full scale conventional retaliation against The British Motherland. Within ten minutes scores of TuK108 Heavy Bombers were up in the sky, prepared to make the stand against the Fascist agression of the British Motherland. Loaded with many tonnes of 200KG Un-Smart bombs, the Heavy Bombers went into British territory, flying over the clouds. The escort Mig34's spun in circles, sure that the British would never get through the fifty escorts.

Actually, people can ignore anything they want for any reason. And even though a 4 million man army would be a logistics nightmare to land in another country, I'd say that 50,000 of my troops could easily crush your military.

Speaking out of interest here, have you done anything to make your troops extra nice? I mean, 50,000 troops isn't a HUGE force, so what have you done to them? (On reading this it sounds accusatory, but it's just a question.... :) )

Meh, they are very experienced and very well equipped. And it depends on which I deployed. I doubt 50,000 of my militia could take his country, but my elites and possibly regulars could. Not to mention I could turn every city into a pile of rubble...

The Praetor is now making an address to the nation, and world

After this, Nuclear ICBM Siloes were opened, and all of Daekerius's Nuclear ICBMs were readying. All of the Imperial Army, Navy, and Air Force were mobilizing. The mobilizations are being executed quickly, Daekerius's next move is unknown, but it is indeed to help CP, and its allies

He had hoped they could sail home without any problems. But now, it was time for a different mindset. He wiped the thoughts of his home and family out of hismind and concentrated on the task at hand.

"We have the locations of some of their key defensive positions on the beaches," continued First Mate Sandretti, "it would be easy to send support."

"Very well," sighed Stukhov, "alert the crew to battlestations."

"Yessir!" responded sandretti and turned to walk away.

Ten minutes later)

Veteran Pilot Luke Haltman sits in the cockpit of his Mig-42 Cobra Fighter Bomber. He has flown in this plane for what seems like most of his life. He has gottne to the point where it seems like the plane does what he is thinking without him moving. He was sitting in one of the most prized creations of Resistencia's aeronautical engineering industry. He felt the plane's engines roaring underneath him, ready for combat.

The naval bombardment had already begun a few minutes ago. Four destroyers and the carrier's big guns had opened fire on the British coast. Now, it was their turn. Haltman looked out to his right and left and saw two of his comrades. They were all ready.

The control tower gave him the all clear. He powered up the engine and began moving. He was thrusted forward,and his plane roared off the carrier deck. "Here we go," he thought to himself.

Five minutes later, they were nearing their targets. They had been keeping radio silence up until now so as to avoid enemy detection, but now they were close enough so that it didn't matter.

"Let's let em' have it boys!" he yelled over his radio. There was a loud response of yells and cheers as the panes began bearing down on their target. Anti-aircraft fire was exploding around him, but Haltman had only one thing on his mind, his target. He blocked everything out of his mind, and checked hi radar scanner. He used his laser targeter to lock onto a large grouping of bunkers and fired away.

There was a huge explosion as his missiles hit. This was immediately followed by more as his comrades blasted the enemy defensive line. After another three minutes of bombing they turned to head home. They had been successful. No planes had been shot down, and only two had taken damage. Haltman smiled to himself and sped back towards the Liberator.

I've been following this thread around, since NS has been so quiet recently, and I see a conflict.
Hogsweat has recently landed an expeditionary/invasion force into BM, and resistencia is now bombarding the shore. Surely you should stop, since you will likely hit some of Hogsweats men?

FPS is keeping it's nuetrality in this event at this point due to the extreme nature of it (not by my choice, either, but the FPS congress simply wouldn't stand for nuclear war). However, at this time, FPS is cutting off all trade with the British Motherland, as well as asking all of it's allies to do the same. Simultaneously, it is completly condemning the BM's attack, and, in a quote of President Matthew Terrus earlier today, "The BM is made up of a bunch of freaking idiots. Those who think that nuclear weapons would HELP their cause are truly stupid. All they've done is help people think communism and socialism is better, while helping to destroy their own form of government."

Also, please note that FPS, being a Socialist Democrocy, has no opinion on the political beliefs of either side.

Resistencia Government Statement:
In our bombardment, we only hit clearly identified targets within BM. All our attacks were directed against large concentrations of british troops or high priority targets further inland from the beach head. We have taken every precaution to make sure none of Hogsweat's men are killed. We are working with our allies to ensure that our counter-attack goes well and we will be succesful.

The Democratic Soviet Union of Resistencia has sent additional forces to the coast of British Motherland. A large force consisting of five destroyers, ten heavy class troop carriers, the Aircraft Carrier RMS Majestic, and the Battleship RMS Independence, have arrived off the coast of British Motherland. Our troop ships can carry 3,000 men each. These men will be sent ashore to aid the men of the Hogsweat expeditionary force.

In the meantime, our bombardment of British Motherland hits targets deeper inside their mainland. Several major industrial areas were hit by heavy bombardment from planes taking off from the carrier RMS Liberator. Additionally, long-range heavy bombers also joined the action, raining bombs down upon the distraught enemy forces. The took off from bases within Resistencia, made the long journey to british Motherland, hit their targets and began the return home.

Casualites for Resistencia have been minimal. Only one plane was shot down during the bombing, but the pilot was rescued after he parachuted into the ocean. All of this bombardment is laying the path for the men of the Hogsweat expditionary force, who are fighting bravely on the beaches of British Motherland. They will soon be joined by their comrades in arms from the nations of their allies, as we work together to defeat the tyrant, British Motherland.

300 KB-45 Long range strategic bombers are enroute to the British motherland. 100 carry propaganda pamphlets which explain the situation to the citizens, and call on them to rise up and defeat their government before it is too late.

the remaining 200 are equipped with cruise missiles which will target military sites, especially airbases, across the nation.

They are escorted by MiG-31M fighters. The aircraft have all been refuelled in-flight to ensure that they have enough fuel to make it back.

The Great Ineffable Bob surveyed the scene. The British Motherland was getting the hell kicked out of him anyway. Still, he couldn't promise support then not do anything. He grinned as he gave the order to attack. It was fun destroying nations.
The 7th fleet was ordered to move in and begin flattening him, along with the second HyperSoar bomber wing.
The HyperSoars reached the target first, unsuprising considering their hypersonic speeds. The wing contained thirty bombers, all carrying twice as much eplosives as the average B-52. They had all been assigned the target of TBMs capital. A few minutes and it was all over, much of the city flattened. The bombers returned to the Ineffable airfields, pleased at the success. Enemy aircraft and anti-air defences had been powerless to stop them, as their ceiling was space, and they dropped their bombs from not much lower, an altitude few craft with air-breathing engines could safely reach, and few guns could fire to.
But this was merely a small demonstration. When the Slag class subs came into range, there enough power in striking range if TBM to completely depopulate it, twice.
As for now, any TBM naval assets daring to approach the fleet would find themselves suddenly taking torpedoes from more directions than anyone should have to, running into the near-invisible (for you, it may as well be, for more advanced it's less so, but see my OOC note below) net of Domination class submarines.

OOC: Not godmodding. Since you're using ICBMs, I'm assuming you're playing modern/near-modern tech. Ergo, you have little if any space tech. You more or less need fairly advanced space tech or weapons capable of actively tracking and shooting down starships to engage the HyperSoars, otherwise you have to sit there and take it. Just count yourself lucky that I need my starships fully armed at the moment, or you'd be taking an ortillery barrage at the mo'.

Surely using future tech on a modern nation is ignorable? Otherwise, the future tech nations would be invincible to the nations who choose to stay modern, and could do what they want. The 2 techs exist seperately unless a specific modern/future rp is created, don't they?

Yes, but obliterizing nations with starships with shields from 1 trillion miles away (which can be done in future tech, but not in modern tech) cannot be counteracted by F-16s. Near Hogsweattian beach head

The first 40 landing craft bounced their way along the sea, whilst over head 100 SU-25 "frogfoots" carrying napalm screamed over head, they thundered barely 100 feet above thr ground causing the CP Red Marines to duck, they detached their payloads across the BM Jungle...

The First Landing craft hit the beach, out stepped General Zhukov, he would be leading the opertation, he looked around for his opposite in the hogsweattian troops.

Remember that it is rather unlikely that you will be able to destroy most of BMs rainforests. Think about Vietnam. U.S.A napalmed them to low hell, and most of the nation was still forest. BM is a lot bigger than vietnam, so napalm attacks won't burn it to the ground.

Sergeant Rich Lombardo heard the explosions and gunfire coming from the beach. The Resistencia Marines were quickly moving towards the British Motherland. As his landing craft neared the shore he could see the chaos of the battlefield. He knew the British Motherland was getting the hell bombed out of it but he still didn't feel any better. He had been in many amphibious landings. He knew from experience that no matter how many tons of bombs you dropped on somebody, when it came to defending their homeland, they always fought hard.

"Approaching the shore!" yelled the driver of his AT-22 Bullfrog Landing Craft.

"Get ready Boys!" shouted Lombardo to his men, "today we show them what war is really about!" His men cheered all around him. As he looked out to both sides he saw hundreds of landing crafts just like his approaching the shore. Shells were exploding all around.

Suddenly, the craft began to slow down. Then the door dropped open and his men poured out onto the beach. He heard the roar of men racing into combat as the other crafts' doors opened at the same time as his.

He began running towards the beach, machine gun fire roaring around him. He saw a few of his men get hit and the medic run over to them. He hoped they would be okay, but this was not the time. He only had one thing on his mind: get some cover and organize his men.

He jumped behind a tank trap next to his second in command Lieutenant Charlie Gomez. "How you doin'?" asked Gomez.

"Couldn't be better," replied Lombardo grinning. "Let's get our men together."

They bolted out from under the cover of the tank trap and ran towards a destroyed vehicle where four others of his men were crouched. "You guys alright?" he asked when he got there. "Yessir!" they responded as if any other answer would make them seem cowardly.

A few more of his men ran over to him. Sergeant Lombardo smiled to himself. The first part of the landing was almost done. Once the first wave was on the beach, they could start advancing towards the fortified positios of the enemy. When he thought about it, he almost felt sorry for the defenders. They were, after all, just ordinary troops like him. He quickly wiped that thought out of his mind. There would be plenty of time to reflect once the battle was won.

Hogsweat. But BM has far more territory than vietnam. It would be the same. Impossible to burn all of his forests. Particularly since he would likely have AA systems and suchlike, firing at your planes.

Kriegos landing craft battled through the ocean as the surf lapped at the sides. Mulik felt queasy, he'd been on amphibious assaults before but his stomach felt like it never had, he looked up to the pilot who had a slightly pained face. "Bad surf" he called it. Mulik pulled himself up to the side and looked at roughly another 300 Kriegos landing craft.

Each one packed with 20-30 men. While other held KTII heavy Kriegos tanks.

"Get ready!" the pilot yelled over the din of nearing gunfire, Mulik braced and looked at his fellow Kriegos Death Korp, the elites of Kriegorgrad, they were here to help spearhead the grunt's assault.

The green warning light near the ramp was nearly swallowed by the early morning sunlight as it turned an angry red. The boarding craft gave a slight judder as Mulik realised the now-cursing pilot had gotten his craft beached.

Despite the situation Mulik chuckled but it quickly ceased as the landing ramp slammed down, cold foam slapping the disembarking soldier's feet. He forced himself up the beach despite his instincts telling him to do vice versa. Mulik looked ahead to see a group of men squatted near a ruined vehicle.

He and his 3 squadmates legged it and threw themselves at the shredded hunk of steel. "Whats your situation" Mulik yelled over the conflicting noises of combat. While he waited for the soldier to reply he glanced to the beach to the see the behemoth KTII tanks rumble out of the landing craft, shells were being thrown about by the main guns while the secondary armanents spat .50cal machine gun fire. Tertiary systems throwing smoke grenades to cover their advance while stinger missiles sailed overhead.

The forces were now assembled on the beach. Sergeant Lombardo looked around him. The attack force was ready. They had eleven divisions of two thousand men as well as four light armor divisions.

"Fix bayonets!" he yelled. They had been on the beach two hours waiting for the second wave to arrive. Now, they were ready. Lombardo checked his clock. Thirty seconds until all hell would break loose. There was now a temporary calm over the beach. The coastal bombardment had stopped temporarily. The enemy seemed to also have stopped its attack. The only sound that could be heard was the occasional burst of machine gun fire in the distance.

Ten seconds to go. Time seemed like it was moving in slow motion. Finally his clock hit one O'Clock sharp. The ships' guns off the coast roared to life. There were massive explosions as the bombardment hit the BM bunkers. Then all as one, the Resistencia marines poured forward across the beach. They ran the two hundred yards of beach like there was no tomorrow. Sergeant Lombardo saw some of his men fall around him, but the rest kept charging like madmen.

The coastal barrage had stopped, and now the Marines had reached the forward defenses of the british motherland forces. They charged into the machine gun nests and trenches. They jumped into the trenches and engaged the enemy ina fierce hand to hand combat.

The British Motherland troops seemed beaten. Many were unable to put up strong resistance. After days of being constantly bombed, it seemed they had lost the will to fight.

Sergeant Lombardo and two of his comrades reached the base of a machine gun trench. They threw in a grenade. Once the explosion rang out, they jumped into the trench. They began to fire into a thick crowd of enemy troops. Once the smoke cleared only two of them were left standing with their hands up.

They had taken the trench. The four heavy mahine guns lay a few yards away from Sergeant Lombardo. These guns which had inflicted many casualties were now silenced. The three of them were soon joined by another small group of five marines. Everywhere he looked Sergeant Lombardo saw his troops overwhelming the beaten defenders. Once the beachhead was cleared the heavy reinforcements could be brought in.

"Good job boys," he said to his comrades, "now we can rest a little. Everywhere he looked, he saw white flags coming up from the BM defenders. These surrenders were always followed by the yells of victory from the Resistencia troops.

Mulik didn't get a reply as the soldier simply stormed up the beach, as with the rest of his men, the Kriegos followed suit and after a 3 hours of trench fighting the Kriegos and Resistencian forces were victorious.

General Secretary Alaru Srundo dropped the report onto the desk. He thought for a moment. Though his nation was small and had few forces, he recognized the need to take action against the agressor nation of British Motherlands in whatever way he could. For Communism, yes, but also for the people of Communist Polland who had wrongfully been killed. The greater nations of Resistencia and Kriegorgrad, among others, were chiefly handling the problem, of course, but there was always a place for reinforcements...

He called in his Navy Chief. "Comrade Ruka, my intelligence division has reported some incidents in British Motherlands which could have some repercussions for us."

"Yes, Comrade, so I have been told as well," Ruka replied. "Our navy is, aas you well know, not stong enough to withstand the attacks of this rogue nation even when it is on the retreat, as now, but if it is your wish, I shall send some of our submarines to reinforce the nations attacking British Motherlands."

"I indeed desire to give the forces attacking British Motherlands aid however I can, in honor of those wrongfully killed in Communist Polland. Do not attack unless I have given you permission to do so," Srundo warned, though he knew it wasn't necessary. His navy was more competent than that. "Keep the submarines at the back of the lines; though I wish to aid our comrades against British Motherlands, I do not want that nation to have reason to attack us."

South of British Motherlands...

Five Oscar Class submarines slunk toward the beleaguered nation of Brish Motherlands, with orders to flank the Resistencian ships. Though not part of the fight, they were prepared to take action if need be...

Channel 7 --- RBN - Resistencia Broadcasting Network News

(RBN Newsroom...an attractive woman is reading off the headlines of the day in Resistencia.) Hello, this is Dianne Foxbourne at the RBN news center. At the top of our headlines today is the war in British Motherland. Troops from the Resistencia 4th, 9th, and 22nd Marine Divisions spearheaded an attack deeper into the BM Mainland. For more we go to RBN field reporter Jeremy Dinkins who is with the 3rd armoured division in British Motherland.

(TV now shows a man in fatigues and a t-shirt reporting from the jungle. There are several tanks in the background with army personnel moving about.) Good Evening Dianne. As you know, the intitial landing, which took place in the north-central region of Ceara', was a success. Once the beach was taken with minimal casualties, the marines set up a strong defense around the beach-head and waited for reinforcements. One the reinforcements arrived, the troops once again began to prepare for the second part Operation: Righteous Strike, the retaliatory attack on British motherland. Once the 3rd and 6th armoured divisions arrived along with the 5th Marine Battalion the attack resumed.

The offensive has been a total success. The marines captured the beach after only five hours of fighting. They completely routed the beleaguered BM troops defending the beach.

Now, mission commanders are reporting even greater success. They have captured sevral key towns as well as the regional capitol of Caera over the last few days of fighting. In the biggest battle since the beach landing, Resistencian forces, led by the 3rd armoured division, defeated a large force of BM troops defending a key position outside a small town.

In the meantime, Resistencia's airforce has been working around the clock. Planes flying from the carriers Majestic and Liberator, have been providing excellent air cover to the ground troops. Additionally, fighter bombers from the carriers and heavy bombers flying from resistencia, continued to pound major cities and industrial facilities especially in and around Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

With success after success, it looks like only a matter of time before victory is at hand. Resistencia's ally Hogsweat has reported similar successes in its attack on the BM beaches. Resistencia commanders are hoping to work more closely with allied commanders and possibly even link up with allied troops.

My only reason for including him and some of my allies in my posts was to not seem like an asshole. But, if that means that people think I am taking control, then forget it, I won't bother to mention people who I think are my allies. Also, I have no need for Kriegorgrad to tell me anything. Other than my above stated reason for mentioning my supposed allies, I haven't done any godmodding. If you want to argue that the fact that I beat BM was godmodding, your full of shit. It's not my fault that he didn't keep posting. Therefore, since he did keep posting, just not rping, I assumed that the war was still on. I equated his not posting anything with the fact that realistically there would be no resistance without any orders. My troops simply went after pockets of disorganized troops. OOC: Firstly, he never said his nation was full of jungle. Just because he used a map of brazil does not mean that it is Brazil. This is NationStates after all, not the real world. Additionally, due to the fact that there was absolutely no response to the invasion by him. If there is no response, doesn't that mean that there is no resistance. Also, he did continue to post. He didn;t rp, but he kept posting things including his map. Therefore, as I stated before, I assumed that he was still involved withthe rp. I didn't realize until later that he had completely left it. When I found that out, I assumed I would just put a little conclusion on the rp, ending with his surrender, since he did just leave the rp behind. It's not like I said I annexed his country, I just left a peace-keeping force. And the reason that I put a conclusionon the rp is just that that is a habit of mine. I have to have closure to things that I do.

The enemy troops for some reason had not penetrated far into the nation. Casulties were high but it does not matter the fault line was rigged and now it was time to destroy them. Admittedly a part of the nation itself would be destroyed but the damage was worth it. Eight 25MT nuclear warheads were placed evenly along the fault line, they were subsequently detonated. the resulting explosion caused a large chunk of the eastern coast to collapse into the deep ocean that lay beyond. The resulting tidal wave from the landslides emitted in a large semicirclular tidal wave from the coast eliminating all naval presence wihtin a 1000km radius. While the effect on land was just as bad, the ruptured fault line begn spurting Molten Magma which headed for what was once the coast. Five cities had been destroyed in this measure of self defence including the capital. The troops were now ready to fight a gorilla war.
