Hostages taken! (Open RP)

The Burnsian Desert

A petite, slightly distressed woman comes on camera, her hair mussed and suit slightly out of place. The dust on her clothing and hair suggest that she had been near a broken vaccum cleaner. She is standing in front of the Venit Building, a large and important part of Highfather(TBD's capital city)'s commercial and financial structure. Explosions are being heard at odd times, including one right before the woman begins speaking.

http://www.ocm.auburn.edu/multimedia/broadcastpix/disaster.jpg

"This is Marianne Weathers, with TBDNN!" she yells over various explosions. "It appears anti-monarchy terrorists have-" she braces for another explosion, "-taken over the Venit Building!" She pauses and runs behind the news van. "They are hurling grenades and have taken-" another explosion. "-hostages! Special Forces units can't get close enough to the building!"

http://www.rlett.fsnet.co.uk/News%20crew.jpg

"Marc! Marc! Stop rolling! We have to get out of here!" she runs into the TBDNN news van, and as it drives away, another explosion was heard not far from the former spot of the van.

OOC: There are 450/500 rebels in the building. You can have a bomb, no more than 550 lbs. There are about 50 hostages, not including women according to Burnsian custom. The terrorists have suicide belts (not all of them, though) and AK-47SUs. Some have RPG-7Vs, and all are armed with grenades. The terrorists accessed the building via Chinook helicopters, which later were shot down by Burnsian jets.

The rebels maintain a tight security around the building, with constant watches maintained with men with AKs. A system of command is set up whereby any sort of trouble or attempted break-in is dealt with immediately. All patrols are equipped with two-way radios, and if any goes missing a 40-man rebel force responds.
Any discovered break-in attempt will result in the killing of every hostage.

your hospitality is appreciated.

My men have in their posession a small mortar.

This mortar is made to fire a special round which sprays 1000sq meters with a gas that causes people to go into a deep sleep. It is perfectly safe and designed for use in such situations. all I need is permission to use this and then your police can storm the building from the ground and mine can enter via the roof through the air vents.

AFter reviewing the situation, The Armed Republic Of Luftsgerden launched a small task force of Special Operations troopers to TBd. They quickly entered the building after a coded message was sent to these patriotic freedom fighters. They issued gas masks to all the freedom fighters and took up positions throughout the building. They are all well armed with M-4 SOPMODs, grenades, and sniper rifle (Not all of them have sniper rifles, of course.) Our Government issues this statement :
" Any atemept to storm the building will be treated as an attack on Luftsgerden it's self."

(In case you ask, they used a V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor to enter the building.)

*A message for the terrorists*

1) You will kill the hostages unless your demands are met;
2) Your demands will not be met since they are not supported by the population;
3) You will therefore kill the hostages.
4) Any attempt to storm the building will result in you killing the hostages.
5) Therefore, given that the consequences for the country are identical in both feasible outcomes, it is quite likely you will be violently slaughtered by the Government's forces.

Yours with apologies for your impending violent slaughter,

Whose to say it wasn't identified? Also, until those soldiers landed, how could you have known their intentions? You would just shoot down a possibly friendly aircraft for next to zero reasons. No wonder you are the 6th dumbest in your region!!!! Also, I wasn't "godmodding" because our 25th amphibous fleet has been in the area for some time. It contains The R.L.S. The Mortar crew loaded the small projectile into the 88mm feild mortar. The gunner aimed carefully and pulled the trigger.

The round sailed into the air and silently burst over the building, instantly the gas was spewed over the entire building and the surrounding areas.

The hostage retreval team waltzed into the building and handcuffed all the terrorists in the lobby. There were no hostages in the room, but the squad kept ready.

"Clear!" shouted a soldier as he burst into an adjoining room.
"Clear!"
"Clear!"
"Clear!"

The squad moved up the stairs and secured the offices of Greg and Guble. In it, they found forty-five hostages and twelve terrorists, all in proverbial la-la land. As they charged up the stairs to the overlook, they blew the door and came out in normal SWAT style. On the roof, they found the terrorist leader and the remaining five hostages. The leader had a Skorpion MG.

"Don't move, monarchist scum..." he said.
