The Crookfur flagged container ship "Sound of Sleat" was enroute somewhere near the X-F base of operations (OOC: some vague idea of where exactly you are might help it doesn't have to be exact ie you could split the world into 3 with each third being the atlantic, indian and pacific oceons respectively and then merely give a compass direction or similar ie northwest pacific or central indian oceon).

<is new to the International Incidents scene, so please feel free to reprimand him>.

At the same time, an old Shalrirorchian frigate is currently enoute back to its' homeland in this area. The Defense Minister, Gen. George Beregovoy, might have announced a recent increase in defense expenditures...but the result hasn't been seen yet aboard the SNV (Shal. Naval Vessel) Republic. The vessel, despite age, has graceful lines and a large blue-gold-white flag. Her mission is to defend Shalrirorchian merchant interests in the area.

"It's been rather dull in this area recently, sir." the XO muttered.

"Quite right." replied Captain Harold Keyes. "The merchantman PV Carlisle is the only one left in our grid. I got a little coffee courtesy of her skipper...old family friend, you know. Better stuff than the regulation drivel we get from Shalrirorchia."

The comment elicited a grin from the XO. "You don't have t'work very hard to beat a cup of mud." she replied.

"Again?"

"Yes, Admiral, again."

Zoogiedom's 13th fleet has sent a message to the X-F naval command, simply stating, "How would you wish to be decimated this round?"
Granzi

OOC: I meant to post the last time, but never got around to it.

Granzi City, 0900 hours:

Secretary Barlow was seated at his desk, a pile of memos in front, and a frown creasing his face. He had a gold pen in one hand, and began scribbling on a message pad, busily filling out various forms. The double doors suddenly burst open; his aide quickly rushed in. "Sir, we have just recieved a transmission from a known pirate nation. The CommOps have deemed it a matter of urgent news and has requested your personal review."

Barlow, stuck out a hand and snatched the paper. A look of thoughtful concentration came over this face as he read. A brisk peek over, then the Secretary handed the memo back. "These pirates, they have been known to prey on merchant shipping? Yes? Well, are they sponsored, officially or secretly, by X-F?"

"Yes sir, if fact, it seems these raiders are actually using government-owned ships. The vessels are of IDF design and are in such numbers that CommOps have deemed them a significant threat to our merchant traders." crisply stated the aide.

"Very well, I want all our ships in that vicinity notified immediately. Also, get IDF on the line, I believe they have an embassy in Granzi, and find out if the ships are from them. Contact Admiral Serria and tell him to round up this men and ready them for duty. We will not let this piracy go on unchecked!"

"Right away, sir!" The aide hurried out.

Barlow sat down and began to compose a response to X-F.

To the government of X-F:

It has come to the attention of the Commonwealth that several naval vessels under your nation's flag have begun a policy of piracy. Be warned that such behavior will not be tolerated. We request that this matter be ended immediately and these ships stopped. Failure to do so will result in swift military action by the Commonwealth of Granzi.

Best Regards,
Secretary Barlow

"Not another one", moaned President Zwimbala of Pacific Northwesteria. "When will these pirates learn to respect the sanctity of sea travel? Very well... send a small task force, of your choice, and have as much air support as you require." "Yessir". "And Admiral?" "Yes?" "Make this fast and painless". "Gladly, sir".
Admiral Michaels assembled the following powers to combat this illegal privateering:
2 Mackensen Class Battleships
1 Thunder Child Class Battleship (flagship)
5 Orion Class
10 Defiance Class
4 Skjold Class
1 Infusion Class carrier holding:

20 Su-33 Fighter/Bombers
40 MiG-29 Fulcrum Fighters
40 F-109D Fighters

3 Sea Wolf Class Subs
And for air support:

10 DD-1 A bombers
10 B-2 Bombers
(as well as carrier forces)

The fleet stood ready by that of Granzi, ready to move in. As an ally and member of the Organization of Maritime Powers, it is Pacific Northwesteria's solemn duty to stamp out piracy and privateering, and also to stand by her allies.

*Broadcast to the International Community*
Attention all nations. X-F has committed the unpardonable act of piracy, or privateering, and has openly declared their intent to continue to do so. This serves as a declaration of war to all peace-loving nations, and we must represent a united front against them. We have joined Granzi in showing that we are not bluffing by sending forces.
Attention X-F. This is an ultimatum. Either surrender all privateer-help ships to Pacific Northwesteria, Granzi, the OMP, or any nation thereof, or the nation you stole it from. If you do not comply, I believe I am speaking for at least Granzi and I when I say that we WILL destroy your fleet, your privateering livelihood.

IC: The President statement on the ships:

It has come to my attention that X-F pirates are using IDF ships. We add that we never sold the ships to them, but there is an active black market. Production rights for my ships have been sold so Farraguts come from many nations besides their origins in IDF. We never sold to terrorist groups like X-F and never will. We will cooperate in any investigation but can't send ships to fight as we are locked in a few wars right now. We condemn these acts and proclaim we never gave them ships.

I would check black market records from people arrested there. It is possible another nation put them on the market.

Zoogiedom will render its services if it is needed - and will put Granzi in charge of a naval carrier battle group, if it so wishes...(TG me).
