Jarridian Statement to International Community

Jarridia
04-05-2004, 06:36
President Branam, Jarridian Palace. 3:00 p.m.

The sun was bright, and the sky clear as the President stood behind the podium. The wind blew slightly, rustling the glorious trees above.

"My fellow Jarridians, allies, and other nations of the world. Our nation has entered a very different stage today. I have realized that many grievances in our past have been made, and I feel that as the leader of this nation, it is necessary for me to share my feelings upon them."

*clears throat*

"As a human, it is sometimes hard to express how we have done others wrong, and may have over extended ourselves. But I will try to do so now"

*Jarridians watched in awe as their leader expressed his feelings on matters*

"At the beginning, we fought for what was right, and just in the world. However, somewhere along the way, we changed. Maybe it had to do with the allies we met, or our short time in the NWO. But something happened. We became hypocritical. Instead of discussing peace, it seems we almost reacted to harshly and too fast."

"First off, I want to state one thing. This comes back from the situations of Apple Zero. (I believe the nation should know who you are). You stated we were cowards for supposedly undermining an ally. We met you then with extreme prejudice. That was wrong. We should have reacted differently and tried to work things out, than make the situation itself, much worse."

"Second, is ofcourse, our current status. What seemed to begin as a step to aid an ally in Egypt, turned into an extreme crisis. It is quite confusing to explain, and this is not necessarily an apology, just a way to state how Jarridia feels. I hate no one, no matter how much I have fought against you. Certainly we have had differences, and may never see eye to eye, but I will never look upon someone in hate. The arguing, the fighting. It all seems useless if we lose our moral fibers."

"It is time that Jarridia rethinks its stances. We must take a look at how we are viewed in the world, and make positive strides to enhance our appeal. Perhaps someday, we will be able to be viewed with respect again....like we once were. At this time, I am announcing my resignation as President of Jarridia. The power shall hereby reside in the Vice President, Joel Sikes. It has been a trying, but wonderful time as President of this great nation. May god bless Jarridia, and all nations on this superb planet"

Jarrod Branam walks off the stage and takes his wife's hand and walks toward the awaiting helicopter, they both wave goodbye to the crowd and step in the helicopter, and then fly off into the distance.

OOC: I hereby state that all actions of recent (ie, Nuclear attack on Daylam, aid in ViZion against revolt) are canceled. These are no longer valid, and never took place. Thank you.

It will be tough without you, but if you believe you made the right choice then good job. It takes alot of courage to admit your wrongdoings. I respect you for this. You truly were a great man. It'll be tough without you.

OOC: Oh yes, this was all "my fault". Jarridia commands BY FAR the most respect from me, it was not him but his allies that brought this about by their rash and barbarous actions. If you feel the need to ignore me and my nation, please take time to refute the points in my thread. If not, withdraw your unjustified ignore. I am not an ass, and I never mean to be. I respect Jarridia for what he did but frankly he is not the one who should be reforming.

President Branam,

It is indeed a sad thing to see such a great and upstanding person leave as the head of a wonderful nation. But it is also noble of you to state your wrongdoings in such an eloquent way. May you have peace and honor.

Though our nation has had few dealings with the nation of Jarridia and former President Branam, we have heard his resignation speech and admire his actions for its bravery and sincerity.

We wish Mr. Branam the best of luck in his future endeavors,

President Branam,

As you can imagine, I am quite thrilled about this. These other nations state that this is a loss....but I see it more as an excellent start. Perhaps this new leader will provide more respect for others, such as myself.

The Caliph stands, an man who seems much older than he is by the wear and tear he has gone through. He stands on a podium, a look of weariness on his face. His face is of one who wants to get away from it all.
The press and his party cue him to begin, and yet he stands, silent.
Finally, he begins to orate.

"I stand before you a broken man..." He takes a long pause, looking out into dimensions beyond.
"Our great nation has seen far too much warfare. It has cost us too many lives...." The Caliph pauses yet again, and then something changes. Again he is the confident, righteous man of a few weeks ago.
"The message I bring to the world today is of the state of Daylam. For the world, we wish them to know one thing. Daylam has changed. It was the Caliphate's predessor, the Imamate, that began the invasion of Iran and the defiance of nations such as WA and SH. The corrupt Imam and his land-hungryness were overthrown and the Caliphate, for the first time in a century, was restored to Islam.
From there, my father took the reins. He was a righteous man, but his judgement was clouded by the desire to make Daylam into something better than it had been, a small state in Northern Iran. He attempted to restore the Caliphate to its ancient home. With hindsight, we know just how wrong he was. But, like others, my father knew he was wrong. After the witdrawal of our forces he resigned, and then it was my turn at the reigns of government.
Let me assure you, I am not the Imam or my father. For under my reign Daylam has supported the spread of democracy under the Brindisi, and liberated the oppressed by freeing Central Asia. But the nations of the world could not forget the past. They could not forgive. And it cost us so dearly...." again the Caliph's eyes become glazed over.
"I stand before you, unchanged. The nation of Daylam will always support freedom, and we will give anything to get that. We only hope that the world understands us, and realizes the mistake they have made."

A note was sent to Jarridia. Chiefy was unable to make a speach due to the revolt.

The note read;
"I are sorry to hear of your loss of support. We hope that Jarridia will prosper on its new path, and we do believe you will.

"We look forward to the possibility that, in the future, we may open trading with you. But, for now, we salute you.

"We are sorry we cannot say more right now, but at this time, we are busy with new plans to stall, and crush the rebellion. Good luck."

For Immediate Release - All Media

In a setback for the Danneskjöld administration, the Randwana Parliment approved The Nuclear Weapons Authorization Act (NWAA), a law which requires the President to procure and use nuclear-tipped missles in defense of Randwana and its trading partners.

Opposition Whip Achnear was the sponsor of the legislation. In a statement released by his office, he said, "These rogue nations which plot nuclear war and then deny it ever happened are an affront to all that is decent. They must be stopped, with force if necessary."

In a related action, Parliment also approved legislation authorizing the construction of ballistic missle defenses in all major Randwanan cities. Known as the "Star Wars Bill", the legislation was stalled in committee until the vote on the NWAA. Construction is set to begin immediately.

Please direct all press inquiries to Aichtemel, Special Assistant to the Minister of State.

OOC:
I don't want you to go...
Are you leaving NS?
I thought I had a chance at an alliance...
Jarridia
06-05-2004, 04:14
OOC: No. I am not leaving NS. I just felt it was time for a change, and as can be seen, things are changing. With the withdraw off all my troops from abroad, it means I have no foreign "tie-downs." However, due to the conditions that took place (ie. with Daylam) that will not be the only change unfortunately.

Magdha however offers alliance and cooperation to Jarridia.

Do I have permission to send a government aircraft to pick up Magdhan citizens? We feel that they would be more comfterable if we moved them.

Maharaja Chandragupta of Magdha.
