Ooooooookay.

Do you care to further explain what this means? (If you could, I am quite confused by what this might/could mean.)

I'm pretty confused. That's the point of my original reply.

Sorry about that. The Fortune 100 will be a list of 100 of the largest corporations in Nationstates according to revenue.

OOC: According to revenue? How will you judge that? Do you mean, the top 100 in the NationStates rankins, or the top 100 storefronts?

Finding 100 might be difficult. Not to find them, but to find revenue.
I suppose Unam should be a nomination as well.
Hamptonshire will be there soon, if not already, as he sells armour, helicopters and naval craft. At least 2 are selling lots.

OOC:
Problem with some of these (not all) nominations...Fortune 500 (or even 100) companies must turn a profit. I would note that the immense majority of NS nations (particularly, it seems, those that sell generic RL goods although nations producing 'indigenous' products are not nearly off of the hook) don't really bother accounting for something that I and many economists would like to call a "profit margin." Additionally, as most arms companies IRL have a limited set of products, a storefront would have to actually be representative of a collective of companies so tremendous overall sales might nominate one company...but then again since most people just sell McDD, Boeing, or other American-type aircraft then I'd say that the tie would be between some American aircraft manufacturer and the Newport News shipbuilders....okay that just needed to be said.

PS I have abstained from stating which nations in particular are, IMHO, guilty of such offences. I will state, however, that a few of the nations rightly deserve the nomination.

Finding revenue for most storefronts would be difficult as they've gone through multiple versions and thus multiple topics, making it impossible to tally total revenue by looking at posts. I know GMI (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=95320&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0) is one such case, I'm on the second topic for it. I could give a rough projection of total revenue based on total profits though, which I keep a tally of.

EDIT: According to my calculations, GMI has made approximately $3,724,055,260.87 in sales in its history. ^_^

Clan Smoke Jaguar must be really raking it in - I've bought a lot of equipment from him and he has a *lot* of buyers.

OOC: Depends. Do you plan on doing strictly Modern Tech, or Future Tech - or does it not matter? And as far as me, I've had two-three topics, about 12 pages each for my storefront. The main company is Doujinshi Corporation, and has multiple subsidiaries - like Freethinker Defense Industries and Xylion Shipyards.

OOC: The RL Fortune 500 is a yearly financial report based on the total revenues of the corporations during January 1 to December 31 fiscal year. The NS Fortune 100 will use a 3 week system.

All corporations will be included no matter what they produce.

All subsidaries will be included together with the parent company. Example: the list will not have the Doujinshi Corporation, Freethinker Defense Industries, and Xylion Shipyards separate but Freethinker Defense Industries and Xylion Shipyards will be included with the Doujinshi Corporation.

OOC: Well hell, then Doujinshi Corporation has orders in the multiple trillions per year.
