VBN NEWS BULLETIN:
"Archchancellor Valdez has announced today that the completion of a project intended to defend Vexi aagainst even the toughest of our enemies. The Details of what exactly the Project Entaile dour sketchy, but what we can confirm is that the borders of Vexia are now routinely patrolled by a Networked Horde of Model Two Strider Spidermechs, which after extensive testing now have an artifical hive mind. There are some concerns from the Special Weapons Divison about the possibilty of the Striders going rogue, or of more advanced mechanoid nations, Particularly Mekanta, seizing control of the hive mind network and reprogramming the Striders.
The Network is desgined so that anything that happens to one Strider is immediately known by all other Striders, Rendering Stealth Invasions extremely difficult.
Thousands of Striders are already deployed, with thousands more being built with a seperate hive mind, not for defence, but for invasion of our potential enemies. More details are likely ot be released soon, as the Archchancellor has promised a press conference with various International News Networks, so that all would-be agressors are warned to stay clear of Vexia and its now vastly superior mechanical forces."

(Accompanying the News Broadcast was various footage of the Striders in question maneveur up almost vertical cliffs and then strafing between t-80's and annihilating them easily, as well as footage of striders wading ashore from distant ships and disabling an entire coastal fortress.)

OOC: It seems that it has 3 legs, is that right? Nothing in nature has three legs naturally for a reason, as it makes walking very difficult.

Err...How is that better than a tank? Those legs look too small to provide a good stable mount when it wants to shoot (or gets shot.)

Although the units are indeed perhaps more fragile in certain respects than a tank, their hydraulic legs enable them to move across terrain and through enviroments a conventional tank would at best be severely hampered in.
Though we do arm some of our larger Striders with Battle cannons, the majority have small, low-yield missiles in great quantities, and others have vulcan cannons and flamethrowers with napalm tanks.
The Striders are quite expensive, and work best when used in numbers, as they are able to work together to overcome their foes.
in a group of say, 10, it is believed possible to overcome a small armoured divison, and possibly three or four infantry divisons.
in the numbers we are producing to defend our own country, it is possible to be able to wipe out a considerable number of armoured and infantry units.
Work is being done on making them more effective in anti-aerial situations, however we believe we may have to use other, smaller Spidermechs that we are currently designing to work in tangent with these, ones that can effectively comabt most aerial enemies, though stealth bombers and supersonic fighters will as ever remain untouchable by contemporary mobile ground units.
But in most scenarios involving these elements, long-range Patriots and other SAM missiles are most effective, with little need for the Mechanical Units to get involved.

Price starts at $700,000 per Strider, with a 15% discount on every 10 you buy.

So once you had:

20 = 30%

30 = 45%

40 = 60%

50 = 75%

60 = 90%

70 = 105%

So after the first 70 units, they are effectively free?
