(OOC:This is meant so that I can RP both future tech and modern tech, and thus maximize my RPing experience. This thread will outline the future-tech form of the Empire, how it got where it did, etc. etc. My modern tech form is of course still going to be RPed, and of course some future nation that is on Earth can claim my land as thier own.)
The Exile
In the year 2189, the Empire officialy established its Imperial Space Navy and so propelled it into the world of space, going on to colonize the system F-209 with one million people. The colony was going very well, trading with the Empire on Earth, and the Empire had achieved peace with all enemies. However, one unseen enemy lay unseen: anti-Monarchy protestors.
After a long and exhausting civil war the territory on Earth was forced to be abandoned, and the former glory of the Empire on earth was dissolved into various, quareling states and a large number of citizens fled to the F-209 system, which quickly became the capital of the newly formed Star Empire of Fluffywuffy, with the Emperor Zachary Stewart IV at the head of the Empire.
The Buildup
With the exile of the Empire from Earth and the formation of the Star Empire of Fluffywuffy, radical changes took place. The Imperial Army was officialy disbanded, as was the air force and navy. In place of these branches the Imperial Space Navy took over, recieving the full military budget of the Star Empire.
(OOC:As far as starships go, because the world would only be using starships, it would be comparable, in my eyes, to building a modern aircraft carrier in cost of today's money to build a small, frigate class starship.)
The Star Empire quickly built the Imperial Spae Navy up to par with other space nations, colonizing a region of space called the Triastrothetêma (OOC:made up system, of course) , a group of three solar systems grouped together, with F-209 at the center. Within 50 years of the Star Empire's founding the population had regrown, the currency had become stable, the economy was rebuilt, and life was becoming good.
The Hiding
The Emperor John Stewart declared that the Star Empire would isolate itself from the rest of space and set out on doing so. Military space stations were constructed on the outer rim of all solar systems, a planet in each system was devoted as a military base, and a restructuring of the Star Empire allowed for military issues to take precedence over political, social, or other issues.
The glimmering capital of the Star Empire, a planet of over 1 billion people, Abussos, was strengthened by transforming a large portion of its unused land into a garrison.
Within 20 years the cost of operating the far flung garrison star bases nearly ended the Star Empire, having to rely only on internal trade to support its economy. Still, the Star Empire operated the instalations, declaring that there was no longer currency, causing mass chaos that nearly ended the Star Empire.
The Reemergance
After near collapse at the stress of the isolation, the backwards Star Empire reemerged from its isolation and quickly restored itself. Military outposts were cut down, protectionist policies to save Star Empire business from foriegn competition wre instigated, and generaly the Star Empire grew.
The Emperor John Stewart was the mastermind behind the rebuilding, and it was he who ensured the Star Empire was not consumed as it reemerged. He reorganized the military, refit old ships, and did all he could to squeze every ounce of strength from the small-when compared to other space nations-Star Empire. It was by his great military refits, his rebuilding of the economy, and his masterful defense of the Empire from alien threats that the Star Empire ws able to re-enter the Space Community. By the Emperor John Stewart the Star Empire was able to make use of all its worlds, great and small, to get resources, though they were still lacking.

"Greetings, fellow nations of the great reaches of space, I am a representative of the Star Empire and I am seeking trade cooperation treaties with the rest of space, in hope that we can establish peace with all of our intersteller neighbors and brothers. It is of the utmost desire of the Star Empire to trade goods for raw resources, such as metals, as we are in need of resources for our economy, and we know that many of the star nations are in need of the excelent goods of the Star Empire, such as our fine line of computer systems, our great self defense weapons for protection against pirates, and the like. I look forward to any offers."
