What REALLY Happened in (Alter-)Rhodesia

30-04-2004, 17:22
It is the duty of myself, Prime Minister Ian Smith, to announce in this International Forum, for all the leaders of the world to hear, that for the past twenty-five years the international community has been deceived by a Marxist-Terrorist plot to convince the world that Rhodesia (or "Zimbabwe" has they would have you believe) is ruled by one, Robert Mugabe, who, in fact, died in a Salisbury prison in 2003. Our nation's struggle for recognition and retribution, however, begins much earlier, in 1964.

The accepted (and false) interpretation of the Anglo-Rhodesian talks held that year is that the summit was unproductive and ultimately resulted in failure, prompting myself to issue a Unilateral Declaration of Independence from the Crown in 1965. To the contrary, the talks were quite fruitful and the United Kingdom gave us Her full support. However, forseeing that the United Nations would soon impose sanctions upon us, the UK officially broke all ties with Salisbury, all the while supplying us with arms and aid off the record to continue our anti-terrorism campaign. Contrary to popular belief, Rhodesia has never been a republic. Rather, it has been and still remains a member of the British Commonwealth and, as such, is a constitution monarchy with the Queen of England as Her sovreign.

I continued my political career in one government position or another until 1980. That year, Robert Mugabe and his guerrilla fighters flooded into Salisbury, murdered Prime Minister Muzorewa and his cabinet, and assumed control of the government. Through totalitarian control over the press and bribery, Mugabe managed to convince the world of the horrific lie that he took power in a free election. I, myself, led a small band of patriots into the jungle to wage guerrilla war upon Mugabe. As Mugabe butchered and starved his own people, more and more of the dispossessed majority flocked to our cause until we finally retook Salisbury in February of 2002, capturing and imprisoning Mugabe in the process. Mugabe's terrorist mercinaries were still in control of much of Rhodesia, however, and still controlled the flow of information out of the country, as well.

It is not until today that we have managed to break through the iron curtain of silence that was draped over our vast and fair land for so long. With Mugabe dead and most of his forces vanquished, the new Rhodesian Parliament, with myself as its Prime Minister, feels secure enough to contact the outside world and reveal to you the horrible truth and humbly request military assistance, in any form, from all nations hostile to terrorism and Marxism. The Queen has already agreed to retake her rightful position as sovreign, declaring these lands to be The Constitutional Monarchy of Alter-Rhodesia, the prefix "alter" in recognition of the events of the past forty years, distancing ourselves from a ficticious past. But what of the past? It is the future that concerns us now.

With Sincerest Regards,
Prime Minister Ian Smith of Alter-Rhodesia
