OOC: Please vote for one of the parties above...each one of your votes will represent 10% of my popluation
As of recently The communist government of Kuppo has allowed other parties to participate in elections. The party with the most votes will take control of the government and chose the head of the state. For example with Party X gets 40 percent of the vote they will take 40 percent of the seats in parliment. The election will last for 2 days, winner will be declared on May 1st. With a military parade and celebration. Thier are 5 parties running for control of the government
Rules of the election
-If 50% or less of the popluation vote the election is throw out
- Election will go on for 2 days
- thier are 86 seats at stake in Kuppo's parliment
Heres the parties on thier platforms...Political freedoms and Civil rights are major issues this election, as well as Kuppos large government and taxes and the War with West Pacific
Revoltionary Communist Workers Party- Serjai Hann is the current Premir and leader of the RCWP party. His party controls 62 of the 86 seats in the parliment. Hanns gave Kuppo its national animal, its flag with the pheonix on it, and was accepted into the Red Bloc. Hanns wants to increase Kuppo's involvement in the Red Bloc, expand government programs, make the military larger, and wage a more aggresive assault on capitalist and fascist nations which may include boycotts, embargos and military action. They are also talking about starting a space program.
Democratic Socialist party- A splinter group of the RCWP, this party was formed with former members disgusted with RCWP's Stalin-like policies. The leader of this party is Vladmir Victor, a former friend of Serjai Hanns
The Democratic Socialist is Kuppo's second biggest party with 13 out of the 86 seats. They were against the war with West Pacific, saying that the government spend millions to send troops to West Pacific but didn't even see any action, the war was over before troops saw action. They also were mad at the following peace talks with West Pacfic. They want to lower the governments military budget, give more political freedom which according to the UN is "few", expand government programs, and give some private property but maintain strong regulation.
Progressive Capitalist party- the PCP is lead by Boris Wolcott, a former business leader. The PCP is the "dark horse" in this election. They currently hold 5 seats in Parliment. They want to change the government back to a Republic, seperate themselves from the communist nations of the Red Bloc, They were against the war with West Pacific saying that it was none of our business what goes on in WP, They also want to lower taxes (68%)...which makes them a popluar choice among the masses because many are paying to much taxes, they also want more political freedom from the government.
Islamic Conservative party- Led by Solomon Khan, the Islamic party represents the 36% of Muslims in Kuppo. they currently hold 6 seats in the paraliment. Khan is somewhat of a controvisol figure, as a youth he was a part of a Islamic extremist group that waged a sort of gang war against the Catholic extremist groups. He argues that Kuppo orginally belong to the Muslims, he wants to make Kuppo a Theocracy, make Islam a offical religion, they are against any kind of government money going to scientfic research, they want to place God make in schools and society, restore nobality to the popluation, they do think that incumbant Serjai Hanns has done a good job with regulating political freedoms and civil rights, something that the other parties disagree with. They were also against the war with West Pacific
People's Nationalist party-The PNP attracts protest where ever they go. Some call them a fascist party. Led by Sven Wolfgang, they hold no seats in parliment. They are against the Communist government, They demand a free press, more military spending, a space program, seperation from the communist alliances, aggresive military action against Islamic extremist in Kuppo, want to privatize the country instead of it being government owned, expand research in science, and make a homeland security force..that keeps citizens from acted up.
