Schultaria Prime

-Central Chamber of the Schultarian National Assembly.
The long and fearful hour had come, and gone. At 11:30 Schultarian Standard Time, the final attempt to contact the allied nation of Catania-Marinov had been greeted by everlasting silence. In the stunned chambers of the National Assembly, everyone’s' worst fears had come to terrible fruition: the once and long time ally of Schultaria Prime had died and vanished without a trace.
"There is nothing more that we can say or do, our beloved friend and ally has disappeared in it's entirety," proclaimed the Speaker of the Assembly, "may whatever Deity that motivates the people of Catania-Marinov give those distressed and orphaned refugees safe haven from the uncertainty of loss. While we were but a small part of their national history, Schultaria Prime would have not survived as long is it had without their blanket of protection. I ask all the members in this great hall to come and join me in a procession to the National Archives to perform the one last task of state between our two nations: the voiding of our first an only Treaty of Protective Union."
As the 400 members of the legislature solemnly marched in careful lockstep down the main avenue of Schultaria Prime, a small crowd began to collect at the Archives. Both curious and saddened, they knew this day represented the end of an era in Schultaria's history.
